The Diocese of Rochester is seeking a Stewardship Manager to play a key role in increasing the financial resources available for mission across the Diocese. Working closely with the Finance Director, Archdeacons, and parish leaders, you will help embed generous giving practices and support churches to develop sustainable approaches to funding ministry.

This is an influential and relational role for someone who can combine theological understanding, financial insight, and strong communication skills to help parishes identify and overcome potential barriers to generosity and grow in confidence around Christian stewardship.

About the Role

You will support parishes and diocesan colleagues in building a culture of generosity and sustainable giving. Your key responsibilities will include:

· Leading the development of a culture of generosity and mutual support across the Diocese

· Working alongside the Finance Director, Archdeacons and colleagues to grow parish giving and develop parish offers

· Teaching and speaking in parishes, deaneries, and online gatherings on Christian generosity and stewardship

· Encouraging and supporting the use of the Parish Giving Scheme and other digital giving tools

· Promoting best practice through parish giving reviews and stewardship initiatives

· Working with the Communications team to promote generosity through a range of media and resources

· Supporting training for clergy and lay leaders on teaching generosity and managing parish finances

· Using data and financial trends to identify barriers to giving and develop practical strategies

· Contributing to diocesan strategy by ensuring generosity and giving are embedded in planning and initiatives

· Creating practical preaching and training resources to support local churches

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

· Has significant experience in fundraising, ideally within a Christian charity or similar context

· Has experience working with high-value donors and developing giving strategies

· Understands the theology and biblical principles of Christian generosity and stewardship

· Is confident in teaching, preaching, and communicating about giving in a range of contexts

· Has strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and can motivate others to embrace new approaches

· Has a strong understanding of finance and the ability to analyse giving trends and data

· Is highly organised and able to manage multiple relationships and projects

· Understands the culture and diversity of traditions within the Church of England

· A communicant member of the Church of England (or a church in communion with it, or a member Church of Churches Together in England, the Council of Churches for Britain and Ireland, or the Evangelical Alliance)

· Able to travel to all areas of the diocese, including during evenings and weekends to meet with parishes.

Key responsibilities

Corporate Fundraising

● Develop and implement a plan to raise funds from companies (this could be nationwide or within local project areas) with the Head of Fundraising and Comms

● Research corporate fundraising opportunities and develop a pipeline of prospects

● Approach new businesses to financially support Bags of Taste through presentations, applications, pitches and proposals

● Devise partnership opportunities where required eg volunteering days/fundraising ideas

● Work across the organisation to develop leads via staff, Directors and volunteers

Community Fundraising

● Develop and implement a plan to raise funds from community groups. This could include events, peer to peer fundraising or volunteer led activity

Relationship Development and Stewardship

● Build and develop relationships with all corporate and community partners

● Develop fundraising tools and guidance for all supporters

● Ensure excellent stewardship for all partners in order to build strong, long term relationships. This includes good recognition and communication (reporting and updating).

Administration

● Prepare budgets where needed, track income and forecasts

● Maintain accurate records acrosscorporate and community fundraising

General

● Support and supervise volunteers as and when required

This role is ideal for someone with experience in charity or not-for-profit finance, confident in accounting software (Xero) and with strong Excel skills. You will be highly organised, detail-focused, and able to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.

The Development Manager plays a central part in enabling the Royal Court Theatre’s Development team to reach and grow ambitious fundraising targets for the charity’s mission.

The role will be responsible for a range of fundraising relationships and initiatives across a variety of sources, including high-level donors, corporate partners and trust & foundations (with scope to focus the role around the specialisms and interests of the appointee). This includes managing and stewarding key individual and corporate relationships, leading on applications, proposals and campaigns, and contributing to long-term fundraising targets and strategies.

The Development Manager will work closely with the Director of Development and wider Development Team (including as manager for team-members), as well as collaborating with other departments across the theatre.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience successfully planning and writing proposals and/or pitches for funding across a range of contexts and funders/partners.
• Experience managing relationships with key stakeholders including high level individual and/or corporate partners.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
• Excellent organisational and management skills to handle a busy workload, tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.

Our renowned Embroidery Studio creates bespoke embroidery for fashion, art, and royalty and offers expert conservation and restoration services for valuable and historical embroidered pieces.

The RSN is unique. No other single organisation covers the breadth of education and practice to promote the art and technique of hand embroidery or has our connections, collection, archive and heritage. Embroidery is an international language. Cultures and communities have used embroidery-based techniques to tell stories and record events for hundreds of years while the individual benefits of mindfulness and mental wellbeing are now increasingly being recognised today.

Overview of Role:
To provide operational and administrative support across the RSN’s educational programmes, including the Certificate and Diploma, Tutor Training Course, Short Courses, International Summer School and On Demand Courses.

Main Duties 

The main duties include, but are not limited to: 

General Administration 

• Manage the Education Email Inboxes, responding to queries and complaints as appropriate. 
• Monitor and order stock levels, ensuring supplies are available as needed. 
• Handle the packing and mailing of kits and materials, both nationally and internationally. 
• Support classroom setup for various courses, including Short Courses, Bespoke Classes, and events. 
• Assist in preparing beverages for students and visitors, maintaining cleanliness in the area. 
• Escort visitors and guests from reception, including tour groups, while representing the RSN brand confidently and enthusiastically. 
• Attend offsite events as required. 

Course-Related Administration 

• Support the Certificate and Diploma Programme Managers in the administration of the course. 
• Provide logistical support for educational tours and other departmental activities. 

Other Duties 

• Maintain a professional and efficient workflow within the Education team. 
• Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Director of Education and the Education Management Team, including scheduling, correspondence, and maintaining organised records to facilitate programme delivery.
• Undertake any additional activities required by your line manager within the scope of this role. 

You will not be expected to perform all the above duties, but we will expect you to be able to cover for colleagues where appropriate.

Working Conditions 

• The role requires frequent movement between RSN’s operational areas, including collecting items or escorting individuals from reception. 
• Some lifting and use of trolleys may be required, and occasional work outside regular office hours may be necessary. 
• Flexibility is essential, particularly when lifts are unavailable or in high demand.

About the role 

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in three of our schools in Birmingham and The Black Country. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors and coaches, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of our programmes is optimised. The role is based in Moseley School, Wood Green Academy and Ormiston Forge Academy.As this job is based in three schools Monday to Thursday each week and regular travel is required, a full UK driver's license is advantageous. The role can be based from home on Fridays when online team meetings and training takes place. 

Role responsibilities

• Work directly with students, mentoring in an impactful, professional and safe manner. 
• Engage with school staff, your Programme Manager, and students in school to ensure that you have fully enrolled cohorts across all programmes. 
• Coordinate the delivery of the programmes across allocated schools, acting as the sole on‑site representative of The Access Project. 
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications. 
• Upload information onto the Salesforce database in a timely manner (training is provided). 
• Work proactively with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities, enabling effective communication to contribute to the smooth running of the programmes. 
• Present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on our programmes progress. 
• Support the wider team by attending university site visits which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided). 
• Any other responsibilities reasonably deemed necessary by The Access Project’s Programme Managers or Director

Training and Development 

You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. There is support from your line manager (Programme Manager), as well as guidance from more senior University Access Officers and the wider University Access Officer team across The Access Project. There are opportunities for progression, including several additional responsibility roles which are available for University Access Officers to apply for once they have completed their probationary period successfully.
