What You’ll Be Doing:

Strategic Planning & Income Growth
• Develop and implement the challenge events plan and priorities, aligned with the wider events strategy, in partnership with line manager.
• Forecast income,monitor performance, and drive year-on-year growth across the challenge events portfolio.

Event Management
• Lead on the delivery of third-party challenge events (e.g., runs, cycles, treks) and bespoke challenge activities.
• Manage all operational aspects including event logistics, supplier liaison, risk assessments, and compliance.

Supporter Recruitment & Stewardship
• Create and implement supporter recruitment plans using digital marketing, partnerships, and community outreach.
• Working with our Supporter Journey Manager, deliver excellent stewardship journeys, maximising participant satisfaction, fundraising success, and retention.

Marketing & Communications
• Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials, event webpages, and social content.
• Work with marketing colleagues to produce compelling fundraising resources, toolkits, and participant communications.

Data, Finance & Reporting
• Support the transition to new CRM system and ongoing systems working to enable:
        - Maintain accurate event records, participant data, and financial tracking.
        - Use CRM systems to analyse performance, monitor KPIs, and produce regular reports.

Collaboration & Leadership
• Manage relationships with event organisers, agencies, and suppliers.
• Support and guide colleagues and volunteers during key events, providing informal leadership as required.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential

• Proven experience in challenge events, mass participation, or fundraising event management
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
• Understanding of effective stewardship tactics to maximise income and deepen engagement with participants
• Proven experience of budgeting and project planning
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings/weekends for event delivery.

Desirable 

Experience within the charity or non-profit sector.
• Understanding of digital marketing for supporter recruitment.
• Experience of working with and managing volunteers
