Project Manager (Cascade Wellbeing Project)

Part Time – 21 hours (3 days) per week

Salary £24,000 (£40,000 FTE)

We are seeking a Project Manager to deliver the Cascade Project – a partnership between the St Benedict’s Centre and the Diocese of Rochester. The project aims to develop a programme of initiatives and interventions to support frontline church leaders (lay and ordained, including Headteachers of church schools) with their wellbeing.

The project has been under development for the past year. The Project Manager will lead the project from development to implementation. Funding has been committed by the Church Commissioners for the first 4 years of the implementation period.

The Project Manager will provide overall leadership for the Cascade project, taking responsibility for setting culture and strategy and vision, developing strong and successful relationships with key external partners, delivering an imaginative programme (in person and online) to support the wellbeing of lay and ordained church leaders (including Headteachers of Church Schools) in the Diocese of Rochester and beyond, and ensuring that there are sufficient resources available for Cascade to flourish.

Candidates should have experience of leadership in a church setting with project management experience.  You should have an understanding of wellbeing issues for frontline workers and knowledge of a variety of therapeutic processes and other interventions.  You will have excellent organisational and communications skills.

Vale House is a not-for-profit Dementia Care Home specialising in the highly skilled care required for people who have complex needs arising from dementia. The Senior Evidence & Evaluation Manager will sit within the Impact & Evidence directorate at the heart of Youth Futures Foundation.

Working with three Heads of Evaluation, the Deputy Director and the Director, you will help ensure our evaluations are designed to generate credible evidence of what works.

You will:

• lead the design, commissioning and management of impact evaluations, including RCTs and QEDs. This will include feasibility or developmental work where interventions are not yet ready for full impact evaluation.

• work closely with independent evaluators and delivery partners and colleagues in our Programmes & Grants and Policy & Communications directorates to assess the evaluability of interventions, and lead the design and delivery of large-scale, complex impact evaluations.

Main purpose of role

To oversee the charity’s financial management, ensuring accurate reporting, effective budgeting and robust controls. The Senior Finance Manager provides insight to support strategic decision-making, maintains compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and manages day-to-day finance operations to safeguard the organisation’s financial health.

In addition, as part of a small team, the Senior Finance Manager provides light-touch HR support to assist with processes – such as appraisals, payroll and staff records — helping to ensure smooth operations in the absence of a dedicated HR function.

Key tasks – finance

• Ensure accurate recording of information of various funding (industry, donations, memberships etc), spending, banking 

• Manual bookkeeping and liaising with Accountants in the UK and in Belgium to ensure data is uploaded correctly to Sage (or similar software) 

• Monthly month end checks on Sage and accurate nominal coding, working with PE’s appointed accountants 

• Raise invoices and credit control

• Accounts payable & expenses process including employee and freelance pay

Prior experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector is highly desirable. Experience or comfort managing cross-border EU-UK financial complexities is a plus.

Your application will need to demonstrate:

Your nights will involve a balance of practical responsibilities and compassionate engagement. From conducting regular building checks and monitoring CCTV to managing access and maintaining clear records, you’ll help ensure the smooth running of the service. You’ll also be there to provide person-centred, trauma-informed support, whether that’s through a quiet conversation, offering reassurance to someone struggling to sleep, or responding calmly and appropriately to an emergency. At every step, your role helps create the stability and safety that allows clients to begin thinking about their next steps.
