Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

We are now recruiting the team that will deliver Crisis at Christmas 2026/27. This unique project mobilises a huge volunteering effort to provide warmth, companionship and vital services in temporary centres across London to people facing homelessness.

Contract: Fixed Term parental leave cover contract – starting in Aug/Sept 2026 and ending on Feb 26th, 2027

Hours: 35 hours per week however some evening, weekend and bank holiday work will be required. TOIL can be accrued and taken as leave in line with Crisis’ TOIL policy.

Location: Canning Town Warehouse, E16 4ES - three days per week onsite. Additional days and locations across London will be required during the Christmas period when our sites are operational.

About the role

We are looking for someone to manage our catering, healthcare and guest welfare services for this year’s Crisis at Christmas. These services offer a diverse opportunity to grow and expand your knowledge in different areas whilst using project management and volunteer management skills to ensure they are delivered in a safe and effective way for our guests. The role requires an ability to recruit, train and manage your own teams of volunteers at the same time as maintaining professional partnership relationships to ensure we can put on a diverse programme of services for our guests.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have…

• Experience recruiting or managing volunteers (essential) as well experience managing or supporting staff (desirable).
• Experience managing relationships with partnership organisations.
• Experience working in the homelessness sector or similar social work settings either directly working with vulnerable adults or to provide services for them.
• Excellent spoken and written skills to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of audiences.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines in ambiguous or challenging situations.

The role of Communications and Publications Support Officer is key in helping us share knowledge, support our networks, and deliver high-quality outputs that influence practice and policy.

Responsibilities include:

• Produce and distribute the Faculty for Homeless and Inclusion Health fortnightly newsletter (via Mailchimp)

• Support the development and scheduling of social media content, helping to grow engaging content and reach

Programme Coordinator

The Resettlement Team operate as a core team within The Passage Resource Centre, conducting initial triage assessments with new service users, supporting with the day to day running of the centre and reception area, and carrying a caseload of service users working towards agreed housing goals and objectives. You will be responsible for developing and embedding strategies and programmes that help people across England to discover and connect with their heritage, increasing engagement with Historic England (HE) and the historic environment through our nationally important Archive collections and engagement programmes, which include learning (Heritage Schools), community engagement, inclusion grants and participation programmes (e.g. Blue Plaques).  Through the power of partnership, storytelling, capacity building and audience led approaches, you will lead your teams to unlock the power of heritage for people and places, embedding inclusive practice and centring social impact.

Hackney School of Food is an award-winning food education hub based in the grounds of Mandeville Primary School in Clapton, East London. Through our teaching kitchen and educational garden, we help children, families and communities build the skills, confidence and knowledge to grow, cook and eat good food.

The Family Support Worker is an exciting position within a growing, dynamic team where you can make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth.

Following a highly successful launch to address a gap in support for young and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, this vital project has now been running for more than two years. Working across both our Young Carers and Adult Carers Services, you will provide holistic support to families affected by substance misuse through whole-family assessments and reviews. You will ensure that adult and young carers, as well as their wider families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support tailored to their specific needs.

• Sector Knowledge: An understanding of working within the substance misuse field and the associated health and social issues.

• Experience: Preferably, experience working with both adults and children/young people.

• Qualifications: A professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience delivering family-focused interventions.
