This is a newly created senior role offering the opportunity to shape the future of fundraising at ISH.

Key Responsibilities

As Fundraising Manager, you will:

• Develop and implement a 3–5 year fundraising strategy aligned with ISH's strategic objectives.

• Build a diverse fundraising portfolio across trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships, alumni, community fundraising and international philanthropy.

• Identify, cultivate and steward major donors and strategic partners.

• Lead the development of compelling funding applications and grant proposals.

• Secure significant income from trusts, foundations, government bodies and corporate sponsors.

• Develop donor stewardship and recognition programmes that encourage long-term support.

• Work collaboratively with Marketing, Alumni Relations, Events and CRM colleagues to deliver integrated fundraising campaigns.

• Establish fundraising KPIs, monitor performance and report regularly to the CEO, Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees.

• Manage and develop the Fundraising Assistant while fostering a collaborative fundraising culture across the organisation.

• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with charity law, the Code of Fundraising Practice and data protection legislation.

About You

You will be a motivated fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing significant philanthropic income and developing successful fundraising strategies.

The Opportunity:

We are recruiting an Investment Manager – Portfolio to take a leading role in the delivery of our existing portfolio including on special situations and exits.

You will take ownership of performance and manager relationships across a broad portfolio of social impact investments. You will build relationships with senior leaders at our fund managers and take responsibility for how these investments perform against their financial, social impact and systems change goals. You will also oversee several treasury holdings, held for financial return and sustainable outcomes, that support how we manage liquidity.

Across the wider social impact investment portfolio, you will take a leading role in its most demanding and consequential moments: acting as our specialist resource for complex special situations and exits, working alongside asset class teams to protect and recover financial value and impact, and shaping how BSC triages, manages and learns from these situations.

This is an opportunity to build a distinctive skillset across every asset class in which we invest, from portfolio management and manager relationships to restructuring, workouts and complex negotiation, developing cross-asset-class judgement that few comparable roles offer. We will create opportunities for you to contribute to new investments and strategic projects as our 2026–2030 strategy takes shape.

What you will do:

Lead the performance management and manager relationships for a portfolio of social impact and treasury investments

• Manage a portfolio of social impact investments towards exit, delivering on financial returns, high social impact and systems change goals, including our charity bond investments and direct investments into or with fund managers.
• Share portfolio learnings that improve how we invest to benefit underserved and vulnerable individuals in the UK.
• Manage several treasury fixed income holdings alongside your primary social impact portfolio, overseeing performance of our externally managed mandate and contributing to strategic treasury initiatives such as asset allocation and ESG approach.

Take the lead on special situations and exits

• Take the lead on complex, often distressed special situations across the portfolio, including client portfolios, working alongside asset class teams to protect and recover value across financial, impact and systems change outcomes.
• Lead the active management of exits across the portfolio, partnering with asset class teams to bring investments through to exit.

Contribute to the management of our multi-asset portfolio

• Lead parts of our fund manager strategy delivery, working alongside asset class teams to prioritise and learn from our engagement with fund managers.
• Input into how we manage our overall portfolio performance, asset allocation and liquidity.
• Lead on discrete analysis as required across financial, impact and systems change at the whole portfolio level, advancing how we consider these dimensions in an integrated way to support learning and performance management.
• Over time, contribute to due diligence of potential new investments and strategic projects aligned with our 2026-2030 strategy.

Help lead the next phase of our market-leading impact investment approach

• Oversee and embed continuous improvement and learning from special situations and exits, sharpening how BSC manages risk across the portfolio.
• Lead and contribute to parts of our market-leading impact investing practice, with colleagues across BSC and with external partners.

The role

Representing NGOs, professional associations, hospitals, academic institutions, corporations and philanthropies, IAPB works to influence policy, mobilise investment and strengthen health systems across the world.

The organisation has experienced significant growth in recent years, expanding to over 50 staff and securing substantial new investment to support its ambitious global agenda. Essential criteria

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience working within an international charity.
• Strong understanding of charity finance, including restricted funding, grant reporting and Charity SORP.
• Demonstrable experience producing high-quality financial reporting, budgeting and statutory accounts.
• Experience improving financial systems, controls and reporting processes.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, trustees and non-finance colleagues.

Job Description

Prostate Cancer Research is seeking a skilled, relationship driven and commercially minded Senior Account Manager to support the growth of our groundbreaking data initiative, Prostate Progress. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the point where healthcare innovation, research, data, and commercial partnerships meet. Playing a pivotal part in ensuring that industry partners receive exceptional service, clear communication, and the highest standards of delivery.

As the day-to-day lead for commissioned studies, you will own and develop a portfolio of relationships across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, MedTech and research organisations. Ensuring seamless coordination between clients and PCR’s internal delivery teams and driving renewed commissions and expanded account value.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in account management, an ability to translate complex requirements into clear deliverables, and a passion for working in a purpose driven environment where partnerships drive real world impact for people with prostate cancer.

As part of representing PCR within the life sciences ecosystem, the role will involve both UK and international travel. Including attendance at client meetings, conferences, partner briefings, and key industry events.

Key Responsibilities

Client and partnership management

•  Serve as the primary point of contact for PCR’s partners commissioning data-related activities, coordinating structured communication through kick‑off meetings, milestone reviews, and issue‑resolution processes.
• Build and grow strong, trusted relationships with clients, ensuring clarity of expectations, accurate project tracking, and timely delivery of all commitments.
•  Develop tailored account plans to strengthen engagement, act as a trusted advisor to partners, drive renewals and repeat business, and drive year‑on‑year revenue growth.

Pipeline development and new business support

• Work with the Head of Business Development and Director of Partnerships to contribute to commercial discussions and maintain an organised, strategic pipeline of commercial opportunities across life sciences and research sectors.
• Lead the development of expansion opportunities within existing accounts, helping shape compelling, commercially viable proposals.
• Develop study scopes, timelines, budgets and value propositions that reflect both industry needs and PCR’s capabilities.

Internal Coordination & Project Delivery

• Collaborate closely with PCR’s Head of Project Delivery, Senior Data Analyst, Translational Research Director, and Finance to ensure internal readiness and alignment on all contracts.
• Translate client requirements into clear internal plans.
• Facilitate clear handovers, milestone planning, and resource assessments that support timely delivery and mitigate operational risks.
• Maintain oversight of project progress across active accounts.
• Proactively surface project risks, blockers, or capacity issues, ensuring rapid escalation and problem‑solving.

Commercial Oversight & Reporting

• Shape pricing strategy and commercial recommendations, including value‑based pricing and cost‑benefit narrative development.
• Track financial performance of contracts, supporting accurate forecasting and revenue monitoring with Finance.
• Regularly review account performance
• Identify growth opportunities and commercial risks
• Produce high‑quality pipeline updates, performance summaries, and insight reports for senior leadership.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all data‑related work meets GDPR and contractual data protection requirements

Sector Engagement

• Represent PCR and Prostate Progress at industry events, conferences, and networking forums, helping build visibility and cultivate new leads. Includes international travel.
• Gather client and market insights to inform service development, modelling formats, and partnership offerings, develop a strong understanding of the external markets.
• Act as an ambassador for PCR’s mission and the value of Prostate Progress.

Skills and Competencies

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

Experience

• Significant experience in account management, partnerships or client leadership roles.
• Experience working with and/or within pharmaceutical, NHS, biotechnology, MedTech, clinical research organisations, or related scientific/healthcare environments (desirable).
• Demonstrated success managing complex B2B accounts and delivering high‑quality partnership experiences.
• Experience shaping proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and contributing to pricing or cost‑benefit analysis.
• Strong background in working with cross‑functional technical teams (e.g., analytics, research, finance, delivery).
