At Depaul UK, we believe in people’s potential — and we take action every day to help unlock it. Whether you’re supporting young people directly or strengthening our organisation behind the scenes, your work will create real, lasting impact.
About the Role
Join us as an Outreach Worker and play a frontline role in supporting adults experiencing homelessness in Middlesbrough. You’ll be out in the community—often during early‑morning outreach—building trust with people sleeping rough, meeting them on their terms, and connecting them with safe accommodation, health support and opportunities that strengthen resilience and wellbeing. Working within a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based model, you’ll help clients overcome barriers and take positive steps toward stability and independence.
In this dynamic, multi‑agency role, you’ll deliver targeted outreach, attend local drop‑ins, and advocate for coordinated, compassionate responses across housing, health, substance‑use and justice services. You’ll bring experience supporting people with complex needs, confidence in managing risk and maintaining accurate records, and a commitment to safeguarding, equality and person‑centred practice. If you’re proactive, adaptable and motivated by making real change happen, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to do exactly that.
In this role, you will:
· Engage adults experiencing homelessness through targeted street outreach, including early‑morning shifts.
· Build trust and provide person‑centred support across housing, health, substance use, finances and meaningful activities.
· Create SMART support plans, complete risk assessments and maintain accurate case records in In‑Form.

About You
Bring strong people‑skills and the ability to engage confidently with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental ill health or substance use, using clear communication, SMART support planning, accurate digital record‑keeping and effective multi‑agency working. You’ll stay flexible during outreach and lone‑working, apply a trauma‑informed and strengths‑based approach, and show resilience, professionalism, safeguarding awareness and a commitment to equality. We’re looking for evidence of supporting people with complex needs (including lived experience), maintaining high‑quality documentation, collaborating with partners and delivering safe, reflective practice in community‑based settings.

· Family friendly leave policies
· Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 7%
· Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP access
· Discounts across retail, travel, food, fitness and more

Safer Recruitment
Depaul UK is committed to fair and inclusive recruitment, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. If a role requires it under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, we will carry out the appropriate Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. We only look at information that is relevant to the role, and a criminal record will never be treated as an automatic barrier to employment. All DBS information is handled sensitively, confidentially and in line with the DBS Code of Practice, and we encourage applicants to discuss any concerns with us openly.
About Depaul UK
In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. Appalled by the scenes playing out across the capital, a group of people came together to tackle the challenge head on. Led by Cardinal Basil Hume and Mark McGreevy OBE, in 1989 Depaul UK was born.
What began as a single housing project in North London soon expanded across London, Greater Manchester and the North East of England. Today, Depaul UK provides accommodation, prevention and support services to thousands of marginalised young people across the UK each year.
As our name suggests, the work of Depaul UK has been inspired by St. Vincent de Paul – a man who devoted his life to helping vast numbers of people throughout the 17th century. St. Vincent de Paul’s belief in the intrinsic worth of all people and his commitment to taking bold action remain central to our values today. Depaul UK now forms part of a family of Depaul charities around the world. We each focus on the specific challenges in our own countries, but we’re united by our shared values and mission to end homelessness.
Please note this role is advertised by the recruitment agency acting for the client – Not For Profit People.
You will lead the day-to-day operation of the Resource Centre, creating a safe and supportive environment that functions as a community hub where people affected by homelessness can access support, build connections, develop skills and improve wellbeing. You will develop activities, workshops and peer-led opportunities that encourage engagement, independence and progression, while fostering strong relationships with local partners and the wider community.
Alongside leading and developing the Resource Centre, you will manage a caseload of clients affected by homelessness, providing practical and emotional support, undertaking assessments, agreeing support plans and helping individuals access accommodation, healthcare, benefits and other relevant services.
We are looking for a skilled caseworker to provide high-quality advice and support to LSE students
We are recruiting an additional full-time Caseworker to join our small and high performing team, alongside an existing Caseworker and Advice Manager. We pride ourselves on our innovative approach to student support and are looking for someone who shares that creative ambition and drive.
About LSESU
The London School of Economics and Political Science Students' Union (LSESU) is a high-profile, student-led charity representing and supporting over 11,000 students at one of the world's leading social science institutions.
We're currently in an exciting period of growth and transformation, with a newly appointed Chief Executive and a clear sense of purpose: to help students make the most of all the life-changing opportunities available to them at LSE.
- We help students make friends and feel like they belong at LSE, through clubs, societies, sports, and events.
- We make sure students voices’ get heard by decision makers LSE.
- We provide practical support for the students who need us most: those facing housing difficulties, financial hardship, academic appeals, immigration issues.
The Advice Service sits right at the heart of that last commitment, making this one of the most directly impactful roles in the Students’ Union.
About the team:
The LSESU Advice Service supports students across a range of academic and housing issues, while also administering a series of increasingly sought-after hardship funds. As Advice Caseworker, you’ll be expected to become an expert in these areas, delivering the bulk of the casework and making a difference to the students who need it most.
You’ll also work closely with our Communications team to shape our communication and engagement strategy - raising stakeholder awareness, improving service accessibility, and providing students with regular, proactive and useful information.

About the role
We're looking for a skilled caseworker who is both empathetic and pragmatic.
You'll manage a large, complex caseload while consistently meeting response-time targets, and you'll bring a positive, solution-focused attitude to the challenges that come with it. This role centres on providing 1:1 advice via email, video call, and in-person appointments, so strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
You'll also need strong diligence and the ability to digest complex regulations and translate them into clear, practical guidance — this is crucial to delivering the high level of support LSE students rely on.
In many ways, this is not a typical Advice Service, and we are not looking for a typical Advice Caseworker. We are seeking someone who is self-motivated, driven, resilient, and a role model to others. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator, able to support colleagues, and skilled at building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
