An exceptional leadership opportunity to play a significant role in the success of one of the biggest fundraising and engagement campaigns in the higher education sector in Europe.
UCL is a radically different university. Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, we were the first university in England to welcome students of any religion and the first to welcome women on equal terms with men. Today, UCL has over 51,000 students, 14,000 staff and over 470,000 alumni, and is one of the world’s top 10 universities.
We will launch our largest ever fundraising and engagement campaign that will leverage the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that our bicentennial anniversary in 2026 presents. Since our last campaign, we have increased our ambitions and are building further capacity and expertise across our Advancement division. As part of this step-change, we have re-imagined our Principal Gifts & International team and are now seeking an experienced practitioner to drive this area forward. There has never been a more exciting time to join the Advancement office.
As the Director of Principal Giving & International, you will lead a newly combined team that cultivates meaningful relationships with donors and prospective supporters who have the potential to transform the future and impact of UCL. Your approachable and collaborative manner, along with your ability to work at pace and with gravitas, inspires confidence from those around you. Being enterprising and solutions-focussed, people enjoy working with you and actively seek you out as a thought partner. You must be equally comfortable in playing a front-facing role, as well as operating behind the scenes and supporting others in making the ask, as it’s the transformational outcomes and impact that truly drives you.

Location: Hybrid – a combination of remote and in-person working at our London Bridge office at least 4 days a month.
Permanent and full-time role
Salary: Band 6 range of £60,250 - £70,750 pa
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in the UK - stealing over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends every year.
As the largest men’s health charity in the UK, our ambition is clear: to create a world where no man dies from prostate cancer. And this is how we’re making that happen. We are the biggest public funder of prostate cancer research, investing millions to revolutionise testing, treatment, and care. We’re blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.
This is an exciting and pivotal moment for high value fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK. Through our £100 million Raise the Game appeal, we are accelerating our progress over the next 5 years, to transform how men and their families navigate prostate cancer. We are now seeking a new Head of Philanthropy to lead the strategic direction and performance of the philanthropy team, ensuring that we deliver ambitious, long-term and sustainable income growth in line with our priorities. You will also cultivate your own major donor portfolio, and work with other senior leaders across the Philanthropy, Appeals and Partnerships team, to ensure a coordinated approach in driving a culture of excellence, accountability, and donor focus across all fundraising activity.
About you
You are an experienced, collaborative fundraiser and people leader, who thrives in ambitious organisations and the major gifts arena. You’ll bring a strong track record of securing six-figure gifts and above, alongside the experience of designing and activating robust strategies and overseeing operational excellence that turns ambition into impact. You’re comfortable navigating the new and uncertain, bringing flexibility, curiosity and adaptability to a changing environment.
These qualities will be key to building credibility and strong relationships across the organisation and beyond. Experience in health or medical fundraising would be valuable, but it’s not essential. What is essential is your ability to interpret complex, specialist information into compelling funding propositions. Underlying this all is your passion for driving positive change and belief in the power of philanthropy to make it happen.

Join our team as Head of Communications!
Location: Remote within the countries where WeMove Europe is registered to work (UK, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Poland)
Preferred Start Date: January 2027
Application Deadline: September 24 2026
Employment type: Permanent contract
WeMove Europe is a community of people united by a vision of a better Europe. We run campaigns that empower citizens to take action and influence decision-makers at the European level.
We’re looking for a Head of Communications who will combine communications expertise and an innovative approach to storytelling to engage hundreds of thousands of Europeans in meaningful action. This role reports to the Campaigns Director and has line management responsibilities.
You’ll work closely with our campaigns team and a social media manager to adapt and enhance campaigns through media, partnerships and content. This role works across multiple channels. You don’t need to be a tactical expert in all of them, but you need to be a strong strategic thinker who can carefully consider the role of each channel and asset. You will be as comfortable setting the strategic direction as you are delivering: pitching a story, briefing a journalist, running influencer outreach.
What you’ll do:
Advise on and support the development of our campaigns by creating and inputting into campaign narratives and communications plans
Work alongside campaigners and social media manager to oversee and/or produce complementary content that builds pressure on the target: reactive posts, video, and assets timed to campaign moments
Liaise with media contacts and external agencies to find appropriate opportunities to amplify our campaigns across European and national media
Build partnerships with influencers, creators, and independent activists to enhance the power and impact of our campaigns
Support the campaigns team to strengthen their storytelling skills and identify compelling storytelling opportunities in their partnerships, such as media hooks
Build and sustain contact with journalists, produce press releases and briefings, keep our media database accurate and current across our priority countries
Oversee and refresh our social media presence, line managing and coaching a social media manager.
Stay close to the news cycle and to what is working on social in order to identify moments that put our campaign in front of the people we need to move
Contribute to defining the success measures for communications, including social media KPIs, and oversee activity to meet them
Advise senior leadership on communications and reputational considerations, including crisis communications approach
Ensure consistency of messaging and tone across all public communications.
The WeMove Europe team works in a culture of togetherness and passion for our issues and determination to win, so from time to time, you will be expected to perform activities outside of your normal role.
Who we’re looking for:
Essential skills:
Storytelling: You can translate complex policy or campaign issues into compelling stories for different audiences, and generate creative news angles from unlikely material or challenging subject matter. You can write inspiring, clear, and impactful copy in English.
Delivery: You have experience in at least one of the following areas:
Media relations: Securing proactive and impactful media coverage which influenced policy or moved the needle - in other words, which has had an impact beyond raising profile or raising awareness.
Influencer partnerships: Building relationships and impactful collaborations with influencers, content creators or other content partners.
Content creation: Producing social media content which mobilised people to take action.
Audiences: You have experience of engaging new audiences through communications channels, and you are able to use audience insights to influence your approach.
Analysis: You are data-driven and results-oriented, eager to test, learn, and continuously improve your content and communications.
Collaboration: You thrive in collaborative, international teams, eager to learn from colleagues and share your own expertise.
Coaching and training: You can design and deliver practical training that changes how colleagues work, not just how much they know, and you enjoy building capability in others rather than holding it yourself.
Important criteria:
Values: You are deeply committed to systemic change in Europe, aligned with values of solidarity, sustainability, justice, and democracy. You are passionate about empowering people to realize their own power and become agents of change.
Languages: You are fluent in English
Travel: You are willing to travel within Europe when needed (at least 3 times a year)
Experience level: You should have five years of relevant experience for this post.
Nice to have
You are familiar with a digital-first campaigns model, though you don’t necessarily need to have worked in this context before.
Have recent experience of using video to tell complex stories and reach new audiences.
You don’t have to have line management experience, but it could be beneficial.
Knowledge of the Brussels press landscape alongside national media
Other European languages are an added benefit.

Refugee Action is looking for a Head of Fundraising, Brand & Insight to lead a critical area of our work.
Salary: £53,460 starting salary (salary range will increase to max £61,429 via the length of service) plus £4,324 Inner London Weighting if based in London per annum.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-Time 35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks)
Location: Any Refugee Action Office (London, Manchester or Bradford). We will consider UK-based hybrid working options.
Responsible to: Chief Executive
Responsible for: Public Fundraising & Brand Lead, Major Partnerships Lead, Data & Insight Lead
About Refugee Action
We exist to defend the right of refugees, fighting the hostility that has a devastating, daily impact on refugees and our communities. We do this with life changing support and system changing campaigns that bring us all closer to safety, dignity and hope.
Our vision is that every refugee seeking safety in the UK can thrive as part of a welcoming, anti-racist society.
It's an exciting time to be part of Refugee Action as we embark on a new Theory of Change as part of our seven-year strategy. At this critical moment, with anti-migrant sentiments on the rise, openly racist rhetoric and policies being espoused, we believe the best hope for real change will come from strong, connected movements that are skilled, united, and influential, with lived experience meaningfully at the centre. You can read more about what we do here.
About the role
You will lead Refugee Action's Fundraising, Brand and Insight department, building and delivering a sustainable programme that raises significant income from major partnerships and public fundraising.
The organisation has been through a period of change, and this role is central to leading the department through the transition by creating clarity, stability and shared purpose – restoring confidence, establishing clear ways of working, developing a compelling case for support and embedding a culture of proactive new business development.
You will take ownership of rebuilding the department’s foundations – setting direction, defining processes, and creating the conditions for high performance. The role will develop and promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture that builds resilience and celebrates success, with a focus on learning and well-being.
The role can be based in any of our offices: Manchester, London or Bradford, with extensive options for WFH.
About you
You are a self-starter and a builder – someone who takes pride in leaving teams stronger than you found them. You'll be energised rather than daunted by stepping into a department, with an organisational income profile of £4.5m - £5m per year. You’ll be leading a department that needs direction and renewed momentum, following a recent organisational restructure and change, as we move into delivering a new strategy.
You will bring significant leadership experience across a range of relevant areas of public fundraising and major partnerships, and you'll be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally.
Whether you have experience of income generation for the refugee and migration cause or not, you will have a strong drive towards social justice, recognising how fundraising can be a tool for challenging oppression and injustice. You will have strong anti-racist values and a commitment to centring and empowering people with lived experience, rather than approaches that are extractive or dehumanising.
To succeed in the role, you will need to demonstrate:
Those with lived experience as a refugee are particularly encouraged to apply
Closing date: 23:59 on Wednesday 16th September 2026
