Responsibilities of our Environment & Sustainability Lead:
- Act as Cats Protection’s environmental sustainability expert and lead
- Develop and deliver our environmental and ESG strategy
- Develop and implement environmental sustainability plans across the organisation, driving change to embed sustainability into decision-making, policies, and practices
- Develop, implement and maintain an environmental management system
- Lead delivery of energy, waste, and carbon reduction initiatives
- Develop and manage environmental data, reporting, and insights to inform decision-making, monitor performance, and track progress against environmental targets

About the Health & Safety and Environment team:
The team is a multi-tasking team that undertakes most Health and Safety tasks in-house, working closely with most other teams within Cats Protection. The team is made up of a head of department, senior officer, environment and sustainability lead, administrator and 4 regional officers who cover the whole of the UK. The team deal with the Cats Protection retail outlets, Cat Centres, accident investigations, DSE, branch volunteer enquiries and more.
What we’re looking for in our Environment & Sustainability Lead:
- An environment and sustainability specialist with strong experience of leading the development and implementation of environmental plans or ESG strategy
- Degree in environment management/sustainability or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders to drive change
- Experience of engaging colleagues to foster a positive environmental sustainability culture, and develop and implement sustainability plans.
- Knowledge of ESG frameworks, carbon management, and sustainability reporting standards
- Experience of managing multiple projects or programmes
- Experience of reporting to and presenting ESG plans at all levels of an organisation and externally.
- Strong collaborator and communicator with excellent relationship-building skills

The Opportunity:
This is a 12 month fixed-term opportunity to take on a central role in how BSC manages impact and systems change across all asset classes we invest in, at a pivotal moment as we become a tech-first organisation. We welcome applicants looking for a secondment as well as those seeking a fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave.
You will help shape how BSC generates, reports on and acts on impact and systems change insight across our whole portfolio. About the Role

The Farming Community Network (FCN) is a UK-wide voluntary organisation and charity that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people in farming and ‘walk with’ people at times of difficulty and change. We have been described as a ‘lifeline’ and a ‘trusted friend’ by people we have helped, and support over 12,500 people in agriculture each year with a wide range of issues.
We are recruiting a part-time Trust Fund and Legacy Development Manager. You will be reporting to the Head of Partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach, Wheelchair Skills and Wider Engagement
· Engage the widest possible range of people with spinal cord injury to sign up for further contact with Back Up, through organising and/or delivering wheelchair skills training sessions and talks for patients and families at the spinal cord injury centre in the region, general hospitals and with other key partners or locations as identified.
· Coordinate, support and manage volunteer trainers who are helping to deliver sessions and talking to patients and families.
· Lead, sustain and develop strong and effective working relationships with a wide range of health professionals and other charity representatives e.g. through presentations, calls and meetings, to ensure that people access seamless support.
Proactive Contact with People Affected by Spinal Cord Injury
· Maintain and support relationships with a large number of people affected by SCI (adults, children and young people and their parents) through regular proactive contact. This could be in person in the spinal cord injury centre, other settings or through events, telephone contact or other interactions.
· Explore their feelings, wishes and needs and provide tailored peer support to help them feel supported, access relevant services from Back Up and elsewhere through proactive referrals, and become more aware of the possibilities of life after SCI.
Networking, Partnerships and Sustainability
· Develop and maintain a map of touchpoints in the region, where people with an SCI will come into contact.
· Develop partnerships, referral routes and signposting processes to develop reach beyond the spinal cord injury centre.
· Develop and manage a network of community ambassador volunteers to support the wider work and sustainability of Back Up through fundraising and other related activities.
· Take a lead on encouraging localised fundraising activity; working towards wider income targets that support ongoing sustainability.

The Role
As Finance Director, you will lead the ITF's global finance function and oversee the financial stewardship of the ITF Group and its parent organisation, subsidiaries and branches.
Working across a complex international organisation, you will ensure the organisation's financial sustainability while providing strategic leadership across financial planning, governance, investments, compliance and organisational performance.
You will help translate organisational priorities into long term sustainable financial strategies, providing high-quality financial insight that supports effective decision-making by the General Secretary, Executive Board, Congress and senior leadership.
Alongside leading an experienced finance team, you will drive continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting and controls, ensuring the organisation remains agile, compliant and well positioned to support its membership.
What you'll do
As Finance Director, you will:
- Lead the strategic financial direction of the ITF, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
- Develop financial strategies that support organisational priorities, future growth and organisational resilience.
- Provide trusted financial advice and strategic reports to the General Secretary, Executive Board, Congress, elected officials and senior leadership.
- Lead treasury management, including oversight of the ITF's investment portfolio, reserves and fixed assets.
- Ensure robust financial governance through effective internal controls, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee statutory financial reporting, tax compliance and relationships with external auditors, ITF lay auditors and other independent auditors.
- Coordinate the development of global financial policies, standards and financial management guidance across the organisation.
- Strengthen financial accountability and governance across the ITF's eleven regional offices.
- Lead the continuous development of modern financial systems that support organisational performance, decision-making and future growth.
- Provide strategic financial analysis to support major organisational initiatives, investment decisions and long-term planning.
- Lead and develop a high-performing international finance function, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to identify opportunities to improve financial effectiveness, efficiency and value for money.
About You
You will be a strategic and hands on finance leader who combines professional credibility with sound judgement, collaborative leadership and the ability to influence at the highest levels of an international organisation.
You will bring substantial experience of leading financial matters within a complex organisation and will be equally comfortable discussing long-term strategy with senior leaders as you are ensuring strong financial governance and compliance.
You will have:
- A professional accounting qualification and membership of a UK or internationally recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent).
- Significant post-qualification experience in senior finance leadership roles.
- Extensive experience of board governance, audit, treasury management, investment oversight and risk management.
- Strong experience of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial control.
- Experience of ensuring compliance with UK financial, tax and regulatory requirements within a UK-regulated organisation.
- Experience leading finance within a complex organisation, ideally with international operations and multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience of developing financial strategy that supports organisational growth and long-term sustainability.
- A successful track record of leading organisational change and continuous improvement.
- Experience of building, motivating and developing high-performing professional teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues to a wide range of audiences.
- Strong digital skills and experience of modern financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.

You will have a proven track record of advising CEOs, Boards and Audit & Risk Committees, leading organisational change and financial transformation, and overseeing complex budgets, diverse funding streams and robust financial governance. Experience within the humanitarian, international development, healthcare or wider charity sectors is essential, with knowledge of institutional donor funding and grant compliance highly desirable.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Site and Facilities Assistance
- General porterage, to include moving and installing of pack-away furniture as required;
- Shifting of furniture between rooms and storage across site to meet needs of Cathedral;
- Assistance with delivery of tea, coffee and finger-food refreshments to conference and meeting rooms for internal meetings and external clients. Food & Hygiene Level 2 required (training given);
- Light cleaning as required, including bin-emptying;
- Top-up cleaning of toilets and washrooms, to retain fully functioning facilities for conferences, meetings and events;
- Replenishing washroom supplies, e.g. soap, paper hand towels, toilet roll, etc;
- Assistance with some high-level housekeeping in the Cathedral church and throughout the site, e.g. heritage cleaning, hanging decorations, lights, etc;
- Assist Facilities Manager with simple tasks of general building maintenance;
- Maintain tidiness of the cleaning and furniture stores;
- Remove waste and bulky redundant items from rooms and storage areas for on-site collection;
- Carry out regular site inspections to ensure that the entire Cathedral precinct is kept free from litter and in good order with signage and barriers correctly placed
Security, Health and Safety
- Remain vigilant at all times for the security of the Cathedral premises;
- Check that public areas and working areas and practices are kept safe and free from trip, slip and other hazards;
- Take action when needed to implement emergency procedures;
- Act as Fire Marshall and Lockdown Marshall (training given);
- Ensure compliance with relevant Heath and Safety legislation and statutory codes of practice;
- Liaise with the Property Team and Head Verger over any issues of concern with regard to Health, Safety & Security.
Conference Rooms
- Work with Property Team managing the preparation of conference rooms including audio visual equipment requirements;
- Ensure conference and meeting rooms are set with appropriate furniture and equipment for event or meeting in timely fashion;
- Manage week-day room-setting according to Cathedral diary and to meet different departments’ event requirements;
- Provide operational audio-visual support to clients to provide presentation- and meeting-standard IT functions.
Sustainability
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Cathedral’s energy management and waste strategies including liaising with waste management suppliers, reading utility meters, changing fittings to LED light bulbs;
- Light garden maintenance where required.

Policy, advocacy and parliamentary engagement:
- Translate research insights and evidence into policy and advocacy outputs.This includes monitoring relevant legislation, inquiries and policy developments; contributing to consultation responses and policy briefings; and identifying opportunities for engagement.
- Support engagement with parliamentarians and government departments, helping to organise roundtables and meetings that enable members to share evidence and insights with decision-makers.
Impact tracking:
- Lead the tracking and demonstration of UK100's impact, including gathering qualitative and quantitative evidence of our work's outcomes, speaking with member councils about the difference our support has made, and developing case studies that capture and communicate this impact.
- Support the development and maintenance of UK100’s CRM database, website and Knowledge Hub, using data and insights to help track, and demonstrate organisational impact.
Member engagement:

Communications and dissemination:
