We are looking for a commercially minded, inspiring Head of Retail to lead our charity’s retail function, a portfolio of 29 shops, a growing online operation with an ambitious plan to turn the retail success into real impact for older people.

This is a Senior Leadership role reporting to our Executive Director. You will set and deliver our retail strategy, grow income across high-street, out-of-town and superstore-style sites, develop our furniture and ecommerce operations, and lead a large, dedicated team of managers, drivers, maintenance staff and volunteers. What you’ll do

• Deliver and continuously develop our retail strategy, growing income and keeping the function commercially resilient and fit for the future.

• Identify and develop opportunities for growth — including new high-street, out-of-town and superstore-style sites — backed by evidenced business cases.

• Build our furniture retail strategy across the city, county and wider region, and grow ecommerce income across multiple online platforms such as eBay.

• Lead, coach and motivate your managers and teams, ensuring every shop is well presented with excellent customer service.

• Turn around underperforming shops and oversee income generators including Gift Aid, scratch cards and the Grand Raffle.

• Drive efficiency across the function, making smart use of technology and AI to support staff and volunteers.

What we’re looking for

• Strong retail experience at senior management level, with proven sales leadership and the ability to inspire others.

• Commercial and business awareness, with the ability to set and work to financial targets, budgets and plans.

• A track record of developing and delivering retail strategy and growing a retail estate, including new formats.

• Experience of identifying and turning around underperforming shops, and of managing performance.

As Community Fundraising Officer, you’ll:

• link the rehoming centre with supporters in the local community, developing relationships with local individuals, businesses, community groups and clubs,

While you’ll be a key part of the rehoming centre team, you’ll be regularly be working independently, so strong organisational skills and a proactive approach is essential.

This role is based at the rehoming centre, and the post holder will spend lots of time in the community meeting supporters. The working pattern is typically Monday and Tuesdays, but flexibility is required and is likely to involve some evening and weekend work, depending on the nature of the work.

The Role

As the Payroll, Pension and Treasury Manager, you will lead our payroll, pension and treasury functions across the UK and overseas operations.

You will manage the preparation and processing of monthly payroll and pension activities for UK and overseas staff, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements and supporting staff with payroll, pension and tax-related queries.

Alongside maintaining payroll systems and pension submissions, you will also provide reporting, audit support and process improvements to maximise efficiency and minimise risk.

You will also oversee banking and treasury operations, managing domestic and foreign bank accounts, monitoring transactions and ensuring funds are invested appropriately in line with charity policies.

Additionally, you will:

- Support staff with payroll, pension, tax and National Insurance queries
- Maintain payroll software, databases and banking systems
- Ensure liquid funds are available to meet planned expenditure
- Research investment opportunities and support treasury decision-making
- Provide payroll reporting and analysis to HR and senior leadership teams
- Support year-end audit activity and finance projects

About You

To join us as our Payroll, Pension and Treasury Manager, you will need:

- Proven experience in a management role, including strategic planning, and people and financial management
- Experience of setting and controlling budgets
- Proven experience of running a payroll function
- Proven experience of running a pension function
- A degree or equivalent qualification

Role Overview:

This role is a member of the organisation’s management team and has responsibility for the delivery of our flood support work. The postholder will lead the delivery of a professional helpline service and oversee reactive and proactive flood support services to communities and business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Flood Support: Lead and manage high-quality proactive and reactive Flood Support Services for communities and businesses at risk of, and impacted by, flooding, including helpline & recovery services and management of the flood support vehicle. Ensure service quality through performance management, maintaining service consistency, maximising strategic impact, championing best practice, and delivering against objectives.
• Stakeholder relationships: Develop and maintain key partnerships with Risk Management authorities, (RMAs), and other stakeholders. Act as senior engagement lead, providing a clear escalation route and positioning National Flood Forum  as a trusted, informed critical friend for flooded communities.
• Research and Evidence: Oversee flood support research, collecting and evaluating evidence to strengthen advocacy. Provide insight to support policy and practice influence.
• Income: Identify, scope, and lead the development of high-quality engagement contracts, working with teams and management to prioritise and secure income.
• Political and Fundraising support: Provide data, case studies, and research to support political engagement and fundraising. Attend relevant meetings.

· People Management: Manage a matrix team, fostering collaboration, motivation, and development. Mentor team members and ensure skills and competence are maintained to achieve high performance

Imagine Leeds is an innovative venue where people come together to plan and take action on climate, nature and social justice. It is part of the Climate Action Leeds Network, which was established in 2020.

We are looking for a hard working person who is experienced in organising and delivering events, so we can run an engaging series of events on topics relating to sustainability and social justice.

The successful candidate will help coordinate the day to day activities at Imagine Leeds. The venue provides space for events, meetings, co-working, exhibitions and networking. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective running of this well-loved venue, ensuring that it can continue to serve Leeds’ vibrant community of changemakers and facilitate engagement with thousands of people across the city.
