Deputy Diocesan Safeguarding Officer

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership role, offering an opportunity to shape and strengthen safeguarding practice across a large and diverse diocese. Key duties include:

The Role

In this role, you will support the Director of Finance in providing a proactive, efficient, and highly effective finance service across the Diocesan board of finance and trust custodian company, as well as supporting the larger finance team who look after the Board of Education.

The role will include taking ownership of the budget and forecast for Board, running the month-end and reporting process and interacting with Heads of Department and key Diocese clergy in helping to run their day-to-day operations.  The role will also take the lead in managing the tax and statutory reporting, and appropriate training assistance will be made available as required.

You will play a key role within a Finance department totalling 9 staff.  The team have been through a time of change, including the introduction of a system 3 years ago that still requires some input to ensure it is being maximised in usefulness.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Accountant to join the friendly team in the Finance function.  You will embrace the challenge that such a varied role brings.

The Role

Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland (VCUKI) and Vineyard Global are looking for a dedicated Head of Fundraising to join our team and help us expand our impact through effective fundraising initiatives.

This is a remote position for someone based in the UK, with the expectation to work at a VCUKI office two days a month. The role is full-time and reports to the VCUKI National Coordinator.

This is a new position that offers an exciting opportunity to grow, develop, and shape the fundraising strategy for our national movement. The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at securing donations from major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporations.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland as well as Vineyard Global. They will work with movement leaders and Vineyard staff to maximise fundraising opportunities and establish long-term relationships with donors. The candidate should be a starter finisher as this is a new area of development for both VCUKI and Vineyard Global, and over time, it is anticipated that the post-holder will build a team to assist with key aspects of the role. We are looking for a graduate with a proven track record in fundraising within the nonprofit sector, especially someone who has successfully secured large donations and grants. Job Summary

The Social Action Lead supports the development of social action and social justice work across the Diocese of London. The role works closely with churches, diocesan teams and external partners to support community engagement, strengthen partnerships and help deliver initiatives responding to local needs and challenges.

Job responsibilities

· Support churches and communities with advice, resources and connections relating to social action and social justice

· Develop and support diocesan training and engagement activities across key social action themes

· Organise and contribute to events, meetings and partnership activities

· Build and maintain relationships with churches, charities and external organisations

· Contribute to communications, presentations and sharing examples of good practice

· Support diocesan priorities relating to compassionate communities and social justice initiatives
