JRS UK is recruiting a full-time Senior Fundraising and Communications Officer, responsible for helping to build our support base, especially among the Catholic community. 

This is a senior role, reporting to the Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy and working closely with the Fundraising and Communications Manager. It will involve developing and delivering our strategy for recruiting supporters in parishes and other settings, as well as delivering a range of fundraising initiatives including our challenge events programme. We are seeking someone with a proven track-record in fundraising and community outreach, as well as a good understanding of the Catholic community in the UK.

Job description 

1. Developing and leading JRS UK’s parish engagement plan: 

• Strategic development of JRS UK’s long-term approach towards engaging parishes in our mission 

• Arranging and delivering fundraising appeals, talks, and engagement with parish groups 

• Ensuring that parishes supporting our mission are kept up to date with our work and opportunities to get involved 

• Building sustainable relationships with at least 20 parishes annually by year two

2. Expanding JRS UK’s outreach in the Catholic and wider Christian community: 

• Identifying and delivering opportunities to share our mission with others and involve them in our work including:

                  i. representing JRS UK at national events 

                  ii. leading our engagement with other Jesuit organisations and Catholic organisations such as the National Justice and Peace Network

                  iii. Producing resources tailored to different audiences such as Catholic youth groups, Justice and Peace groups, and non-churchgoing Catholics 

3. Leading recruitment of regular donors: 

• Utilising the opportunities outlined here to engage new regular/committed supporters

• Recruiting at least 120 new regular supporters annually by year 2

• Working with the Fundraising and Communications Manager on our process for welcoming and stewarding regular supporters 

4. Leading our challenge events programme: 

• Recruiting and stewarding our teams for the TCS London Marathon, London Landmarks Half Marathon, and Vitaly 10k ensuring all participants are supported, equipped, and celebrated 

• Keeping past participants up to date with our work and the impact of their support 

• Promoting opportunities for supporters to undertake their own fundraising events

• Raising a net income of £20,000 annually through challenge events by year 2

Other responsibilities  

• Working with the Fundraising and Communications Manager on our schools and universities engagement plan

• Ensuring good quality supporter records are kept in compliance with data processing requirements 

• Periodic management of interns or volunteers

Job description 

1. Supporter engagement: 

• Thanking and recording donations; maintaining up-to-date supporter records 

• Supporting outreach through JRS UK events such as our Advent Service and report launches

• Undertaking talks and appeals in parishes or school

2. Digital and Offline communications: 

• Producing and distributing printed materials (e.g. quarterly newsletters; publicity materials; parish resources) 

• Maintaining and developing JRS UK’s digital presence (e.g. website; social media; e-updates) 

• Capturing and managing digital assets (such as audio, photographs, and videos)

• Developing content for JRS UK’s website, newsletters, and social media – scoping and drafting content that champion refugee voices, shares our work, or engages supporters in our advocacy 

• Analysing web traffic and social media engagement to inform future activity 

3. Appeals 

• Supporting the delivery of JRS UK’s three direct-mail appeals (Advent, Lent, World Day of Migrants and Refugees) and our annual legacy appeal by: 

  • Researching and drafting content 

  • Curating and segmenting data 

  • Sourcing and producing visuals 

4. Trust fundraising  

• Stewarding relationships with some small and medium sized trusts 

• Drafting and submiting grant applications and reports

Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager — Go Beyond £35,000–£37,000 | Fully Remote | Permanent | Full-time

Go Beyond has given over 21,000 vulnerable children life-changing residential breaks since 1994. Young carers who spend their days looking after parents. Children living in poverty for whom a school holiday means hunger, not adventure. Kids who've been bullied or bereaved and need a week away from their ordinary life.

The charity is entirely self-funded. £1.8 million a year, every penny raised by supporters. No government money. Which means the work this fundraising team does is directly and specifically what makes those breaks possible.

This is the role that sits at the heart of that.

What makes this moment unusual:

Go Beyond's flagship campaign, Ice Cream Moments, launches this summer — backed by Louis Theroux, James Acaster, David Gower and Jenny Agutter. The trustees want to go viral. A legacy programme is built and ready to launch. An alumni programme connecting with 21,000+ former beneficiaries is research-complete and waiting for someone to open the door. And a loyal supporter base of 200–300 regular givers — many of whom have been giving for over a decade — is generating £90,000 a year with almost no stewardship behind it.

What the role involves:

The Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager will own the supporter communications function end to end. This is a project management and strategy role — not an execution role. The doing sits with two direct reports and a network of freelancers. Your job is to build the plan, manage the team, deliver the campaigns and make sure the data tells you what's working.

In practice that means:

• Building and managing proper supporter journeys for regular givers, challenge event runners and Ice Cream Moments donors
• Project managing the full campaigns calendar — four annual appeals, Ice Cream Moments, challenge events, and a growing digital communications programme
• Developing and implementing a data strategy, setting up income dashboards and overseeing the CRM
• Launching the legacy programme and, in time, the alumni programme
• Managing two direct reports: a Digital Marketing Officer and a Data & Admin / Challenge Events Officer
• Writing an 18-month strategy with proper pipelines and income forecasts

What we're looking for:

This is not a pure fundraiser role or a pure marketing role. It's a hybrid — and the right person will see that as a feature, not a confusion.

• A track record of owning campaigns end to end — not being part of them, owning them. Specific examples, with dates, outputs and results
• Genuine data literacy — comfortable in a CRM, able to run queries, understand segmentation. Not expert-level, but curious enough that you're never caught out
• Financial awareness — you ask what the target is before anything else. You work backwards from an income number
• Hands-on as well as strategic — you can delegate and direct, but you can also do
• Strong project management — multiple workstreams, freelancers, deadlines you can't move

Charity sector experience is welcome but not essential. Commercial direct marketing, agency-side or individual giving backgrounds are all genuinely considered.

• Be the primary contact for supporters, patients, and families and offer excellent service to supporters through various communication channels. 
• Develop strong internal relationships to enhance fundraising efforts and support Marie Curie activities. Help identify and engage new supporters.
• Record, bank, and process supporter income in line with Marie Curie policies. Maintain accurate financial and supporter records.
• Provide stewardship for Fundraising My Way participants, local fundraising groups, volunteers, and third-party eventers.
• Manage collection site bookings and permits, contact volunteers, dispatch materials, and ensure proper follow-up and record-keeping for collections.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Trusts and Foundations Officer to join our fundraising team and drive income growth from trusts and foundations. The Role

The foundation is a UK-based microfinance charity that gives small loans and business training to women in Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia. They envision a world where people living in poverty have the opportunity to build sustainable and better lives for themselves and their families. They provide women in sub-Saharan Africa with financial services, business training, mentoring, and ongoing support.

This is an exciting time to join the foundation as they embark on a phase of major organisational growth. In 2026, they are launching a capital campaign to expand their outreach from serving 150,000 women each year to 1 million women annually.

The role is offered on a permanent full-time basis with a salary between £40,000 to £45,000 per annum with flexible hybrid working options between home and their London office.  

The Trust and Foundations Manager is responsible for securing significant grant income from trusts, foundations, and institutional funders in the UK and internationally. The role leads on developing and managing a high-value funding pipeline, securing five  and six figure grants, and building strong, long-term funder relationships. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Communications, they will work closely with colleagues in London and across sub-Saharan Africa to develop compelling proposals, budgets, and reports. The role includes line management responsibility for one fundraising team member.

They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in securing significant grants (five or six figure gifts) from trusts, foundations, and institutional funders. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience in writing successful grant applications and bids, with a portfolio of high-value awards. The ideal candidate will have an interest in international development and the work of MicroLoan Foundation.
