Event & Engagement Coordinator

Remotely based in North West England with one day a week based in Manchester office. 9‑month fixed‑term contract / placement.

Job Purpose:

To plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of local events across North West England, ensuring each event is well-organised, inclusive, and engaging for local communities. The Local Event & Engagement Coordinator will collaborate closely with partners, local authorities, suppliers, volunteers, and members to deliver high-quality, unique and memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

· Event Coordination
Plan and manage logistics for a variety of local member events, making sure all events are accessible and attractive to both existing and potential members.

· Liaise with relevant external and internal contacts such as venues, suppliers, CSSC’s ticketing platform, Head Office departments, and volunteers.

· Complete all relevant compliance work such as risk assessments and public liability checks.

· Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring value for money and accurate financial tracking.

· Oversee event setup and breakdown where applicable, managing on-site logistics and resolving any issues on the day.

· Recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with events.

· Evaluate event success through feedback, data collection, and post-event reporting.

· Digital Engagement
Promote events via social media, email campaigns, posters, and local press in collaboration with marketing teams.

· Manage and grow the North West’s CSSC TikTok presence, including content planning, filming, editing, posting, and community engagement.

· Create engaging, on-brand short-form video content tailored to target audiences.

· Monitor performance metrics and use insights to optimise content strategy and increase reach and engagement.

· Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, tools, and platform updates.

About the role

The Doncaster Therapeutic Service is based within therapeutic services in the Resettlement Team in South Yorkshire. The Resettlement team provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies, the Refugee Council Resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group.

The Psychological Therapist role is designed to provide one-to-one psychological therapy to resettled refugees presenting with mental distress. We have adopted a psychosocial perspective and use a specially tailored care model to address the needs of our clients. The team have supported resettled adult refugees in South Yorkshire by providing short-term one-to-one therapeutic support since September 2017.

For a large international organisation, we are recruiting an Interim Group FP&A Manager who will coordinate and produce consolidated financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.   Role Purpose 
 
The Home from Hospital project in Newcastle is funded by the Northeast and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board. Preventing readmissions to hospital is crucial for the NHS. Re-admissions cost the NHS over £2 billion per year, and no-one wants to be in hospital when they can be recovering safely and comfortably at home. The project was developed to help enable older people to thrive back at home, and in the community, while at the same time supporting the NHS.
 
We recruit, train, support and coordinate volunteers, who provide a “little bit of help” to people who may be socially isolated, have health issues, or don’t have many people around them. Volunteers provide social, emotional or practical support, completing short-term tasks. This includes things like helping with shopping, collecting medical prescriptions, in person or telephone check in’s, driving someone to an appointment, helping with paperwork, ensuring the home is safe and secure, and more.

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Newcastle.The right candidate would be someone with excellent knowledge of “best practice” in Volunteer Management and with experience of supporting older people.

It is essential that the postholder is agile, can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Recent graduate or equivalent experience in a role requiring logical thinking or data handling
• Analytical Mindset: You enjoy spotting patterns and trends in information 
• Naturally Curious: You’re the kind of person who asks "Why do we do it this way?" and "Could we do it better?" 
• Team Player: You are happy to roll up your sleeves and help a team rethink their working practices.
• Communication Skills: You can present your findings in a way that is visual, easy to digest, and actionable. You can also grasp and explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues without using jargon
• A People Person: You are personable, friendly and good at building healthy working relationships with people across the organisation
• Tech-Comfortable: You absolutely don’t need to be a coder, but you should be a confident user of standard MS Office tools (especially Excel) and be prepared to work within a complex integrated data environment, engaging with systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage 200 & WooCommerce

Additional Information:

Terms and Conditions:

This is a full-time, one-year fixed-term position. The salary will be £24,455 per annum
