Boaz Trust relies on the generosity of trusts and foundations to provide accommodation and support for people seeking sanctuary, and to challenge and change the unjust systems that cause destitution, both locally and nationally. We are looking for a Fundraising Officer (Trusts) who can help us sustain and grow this vital income by building positive, long-term relationships with funders, delivering high quality applications and reports as needed. 

The money raised through this role will support Boaz’s work with people who are facing or experiencing homelessness because of their insecure, changing or uncertain immigration status. Our work includes providing safe accommodation and person-centred support, while working towards our mission of ending destitution among people seeking sanctuary.

Day to day, you will research prospective funders, prepare persuasive applications and cases for support, and produce accurate, engaging reports showing what funders’ support has achieved. You will manage a pipeline of applications and reporting deadlines, keep our fundraising database up to date, and work closely with colleagues across Boaz to best communicate the stories, outcomes, and impact from our work. You will communicate directly with existing and potential funders by email, telephone and, where appropriate, in meetings.

We are looking for someone who enjoys building interpersonal relationships with both funders and supporters and team-mates, is skilled at communicating through writing, can turn detailed information into a clear and compelling case for support, and is organised enough to manage several deadlines at once. You will already have experience of trusts fundraising or bid writing. Most importantly, you will be thoughtful, curious and collaborative, be aligned with Boaz’s values and our commitment to the dignity and rights of people seeking sanctuary.

You will be confident communicating by email, telephone and in person, comfortable working with databases and financial information, and able to manage a varied workload. Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) is looking for two compassionate and motivated Weekend Support Workers to join our dedicated Client Services Team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across the Harrogate district.

We have two part-time positions available (14 hours per week):

• 7.30am to 2.30pm, Saturdays and Sundays
• 1.30pm to 8.00pm, Saturdays and Sundays

Salary: £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.45 per hour upon successful completion of probation. Additional hours may be available to cover annual leave, sickness and on-call duties.

As a Support Worker, you will help create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for clients living within our hostel accommodation, Springboard services and flats. You will provide practical and emotional support, assist new residents with inductions, maintain accurate records, carry out health and safety checks, and work closely with colleagues, volunteers and partner agencies to help clients move towards greater independence.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive and proactive attitude, and the ability to build trusting relationships with people from a range of backgrounds. Experience working with vulnerable adults, homelessness, housing, social care or mental health services is desirable, but most importantly, you will share our values and commitment to empowering people to achieve positive outcomes.

Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) is looking for a practical, organised and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our properties across the Harrogate district.

This is an opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our hostel accommodation, supported housing and office premises remain safe, compliant and welcoming for the people who rely on our services. Working closely with colleagues throughout the organisation, you will help create environments where people experiencing homelessness can feel secure, supported and able to move forward with their lives.

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance projects, scheduling repairs and routine maintenance, and ensuring our buildings are maintained to a high standard. You will oversee preventative maintenance programmes, manage contractors and suppliers, monitor budgets and support compliance with health and safety requirements.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will work in partnership with the Client Services Team and other colleagues to ensure maintenance issues are addressed promptly and effectively. You will be confident identifying problems, finding practical solutions and prioritising work to minimise disruption to residents and services.

We’re looking for someone with strong organisational and communication skills, experience in maintenance, facilities management, property services or a related field, and the ability to manage contractors and multiple tasks effectively. A hands-on, flexible approach and a commitment to HHP’s values are essential.

As a Senior Legacy Acquisition Officer, you will lead the delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of a new integrated legacy acquisition campaign.
You will manage activity end to end, from initial briefing and campaign launch through to testing, optimisation and evaluation, working closely with internal teams and external agencies.

• Delivering an integrated legacy acquisition campaign across TV, digital, radio, print and other channels.

About the Role

The Nightingale Navigator supports the loved ones of male survivors through the Nightingale Project. Recognising that sexual harm can affect partners, family members and others close to a survivor, the role provides therapeutic group and community-based support, alongside psychoeducation about trauma and its wider impact. This includes helping loved ones understand the criminal justice process and working with health, social care and other partner agencies to ensure they receive coordinated support. The Navigator also brings the experiences, needs and wishes of loved ones into the continued development of the Nightingale Project.

About You

You’ll be someone who understands that sexual harm can affect not only survivors, but also their partners, family members and other people close to them. You’ll be comfortable talking about trauma and able to provide compassionate, practical and non-judgmental support through group work, community activities and partnership working. Experience of supporting loved ones, delivering workshops or working within mental health, social care, advocacy or community services would be particularly helpful. We also recognise the value of transferable experience and welcome people who are committed to learning, building trusting relationships and helping loved ones feel less alone.

Advice Team Leader

Hours: Full-time 34.5 hours per week over 5 days

(this post may require some evening work for which flex is given)

Location: Hybrid working: minimum 40% of working time in the office in Yeadon.

(Mondays and Thursdays are mandatory office days, additional office days may be required to meet service needs)

About the role

We have a range of services covering the length and breadth of the UK, delivered with by our dedicated staff and volunteers. You’ll be stepping into the role of team leader becoming the driving force behind the day-to-day delivery of our award winning UK-wide helpline providing tailored support to people living with epilepsy!

The team provide support on a range of topics, from medication and wellbeing, driving to education/employment. They support people living with epilepsy themselves as well as parents and carers and they do that via multiple channels. You'll be at the forefront of touching lives and making a difference.

As part of our dynamic services department, your mission will be to:

• Lead and inspire a team empowering them to deliver exceptional support.
• Ensure that our services consistently meet the highest quality standards, leaving a positive impact on every individual we serve.
• Forge strong partnerships with stakeholders both internally and externally, ensuring our services resonate with diverse communities across the UK.
• Play a pivotal role in crafting innovative service proposals and supporting funding applications to bring our vision to life.

At Epilepsy Action we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts are required to work a minimum of 40% of their time at our office in Yeadon, Leeds. On average this is 2 days a week on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees.

Because regular face-to-face collaboration is an important part of this role, applicants should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of our Yeadon office and be able to attend the office as required.

The expectation to collaborate in person is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do, which may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy.

The role:
The Head of Financial Controls is a new role and is responsible for the accounting, controls and audit functions at Shakespeare’s Globe. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be a key player in the finance leadership team. The OUT Side OUT Spoken Navigator supports male survivors and survivor allies as they prepare to leave prison or another secure setting and rebuild their lives in the community. The role provides intensive, trauma-informed support shaped around each person’s individual circumstances, including completing risk and needs assessments and developing a tailored support plan. You’ll help people navigate challenges around housing, healthcare, benefits, employment and community connections, working closely with prison, probation, health, social care and other partner agencies. The aim is to reduce barriers; strengthen stability and ensure people continue to feel supported throughout the transition from custody into the community.

About You

You’ll have experience of providing one-to-one support or advocacy to people with complex needs and be comfortable working with trauma, risk and the challenges that can accompany release from custody. Experience within criminal justice, mental health, housing, social care or community services would be particularly helpful, as would an understanding of sexual harms affecting boys and men. You’ll be able to build trusting relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries, manage competing priorities and work confidently with a range of partner agencies. This role is specifically responsible for delivery of appropriate budget reporting that have been the result of future-focussed, strategic and inclusive business partnering relationships across Shakespeare’s Globe between budget holders and the Finance Business Partner team.

This team needs to be led by someone who understands where the budget holders are, understand their fears and concerns, understand the reasons behind their previous decisions, and hold them to account whilst inspiring them to work differently to achieve the financial budgeting. This role will be working specifically within and joining up the interdependencies of how the work impacts other work, other teams and other expenditure. You will need to be able to identify where budget decisions have been made driven by emotions rather than by the business and strategy. The ability to get buy-in is important whilst ensuring objectivity is essential. We do not need an enabler, we need a gentle and collaborative disruptor.
