ABOUT THE ROLE
The Community Action Worker will frequently travel across Batley, Dewsbury and Heckmondwike to support local people and groups to develop community-led social action initiatives that bring people together across lines of difference. Working in line with asset-based community development and community organising approaches, you will support local groups to start, build, grow and sustain projects that strengthen neighbourliness and bring people together around shared interests.
You will also work as part of a local interdisciplinary team to develop arts-based activity through a More in Common Creative Collective. This would celebrate difference and challenge narratives of division through creative community work. You will also support the delivery of facilitated dialogue through the Let’s Talk programme, helping communities address division through conversation.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who is deeply committed to building community power and supporting community-led change. You will bring experience in asset-based community development, community organising, movement building, or closely related approaches, which might include mentoring and coaching. Alongside this you will have a relational way of working that starts with listening, trust-building, and identifying the strengths, interests and leadership that already exist within communities.
You will be self-motivated and comfortable working on your own initiative, bringing organisational skills needed to contribute to planning, delivery of events, learning and reporting. Experience of partnership working, supporting community events or social action, and contributing to funded programmes would all be valuable. Furthermore, you will be confident working across culture, faith, ethnicity, class and other lines of difference. You will have good interpersonal skills and will be able to build relationships quickly while approaching this work with humility, ambition, curiosity and respect.

The Jo Cox Foundation was established in 2016 by the friends and family of the late Jo Cox MP. The Foundation exists to make positive change on issues that Jo was passionate about. ABOUT BRIDGING & BELONGING
We have completed Stage 1 of Bridging & Belonging, which involved a series of local listening events. What we heard was clear: people in North Kirklees want more chances to connect with one another and to shape what happens in their neighbourhoods, using their own ideas, skills and experience to make a positive difference.
We are now moving into Stage 2, a four-year project funded through the National Lottery Community Fund’s Reaching Communities programme. This phase will strengthen neighbourliness, reduce division, and support community-led action that builds stronger, more connected communities. It is rooted in asset-based community development and creative, participatory community organising, with a focus on helping local people start, grow and sustain social action that brings people together across lines of difference.
Bridging & Belonging is already established, you will join a project with strong foundations, trusted relationships and a clear direction. Working alongside colleagues, residents and local partners, you will help shape the next phase of the project while keeping local people at the heart of its priorities and activities.
Over the coming years, the work will support community-led action that strengthens neighbourliness and hyper-local connection, creates new ways for people to connect across communities, and develops projects built around shared interests, shared places and shared concerns. It will also back activity that celebrates local strengths, makes space for difference, and builds a stronger sense of belonging.
Alongside this, you will also:
help develop a More in Common Creative Collective with residents and partners, using arts and creativity to challenge division and share local stories;
support the development of a Community of Practice that brings together staff, partners and community members to share learning and build relationships; and

About this key role
Our successful candidate will deliver intensive one-to-one mentoring and casework support to up to 25 CYPs annually who are affected by criminality, exploitation, gang involvement, or the justice system, improving their safety, wellbeing, and life outcomes. You will be expected to build positive relationships with CYP and their families and work directly with them to promote positive change, build resilience, reduce risks, and prevent continued significant harm, plus work collaboratively with the Children’s Services CATE Team, Community Safety, Youth Justice, Police, and other stakeholders.
We will also count on you to support the development of professional knowledge within the CATE team and wider network on criminal exploitation and to produce risk management plans based on assessments, while promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and including appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service.

As an Operations Officer, you will manage and support a portfolio of Licensed Organisations (LOs) to ensure the delivery of a high‑quality DofE programme. You will work closely with a team of Operations Officers across Wales, each responsible for their own portfolio. The role is field‑based, involving regular travel to meetings and events. Reporting to an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day contact with LOs and for supporting delivery of the Wales Business Plan. What will you be doing as Internal Communications Manager?
Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy to support transformation and business priorities, reviewing current tools and systems
Identify and implement new modern digital solutions for internal communications
Creating engaging, clear and timely communications that connect and inspire staff across YHA’s network
Managing YHA’s internal communications channels to ensure consistency, accuracy and impact
Planning and hosting internal engagement activities such as briefings, webinars and Ask‑the‑Exec sessions
Producing high‑quality internal content including newsletters, briefings, presentations and articles
Working closely with senior leaders and colleagues across the organisation to gather stories, share updates and celebrate impact
Supporting staff understanding, engagement and confidence during periods of organisational change, with travel across the network as required
What Skills and Experience do you need to be an Internal Communications Manager?
Experience implementing and managing modern digital internal communications systems within complex or national organisations
Proven experience leading and delivering internal communications strategies
Expert confidence using Microsoft tools such as Teams, Viva Engage and SharePoint to drive engagement
Demonstrated success managing internal communications through periods of organisational change
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and situations
Confident facilitator and event coordinator, comfortable chairing meetings and presenting to senior audiences
Strong project management skills, able to balance competing priorities and deliver to deadlines
Approachable, trusted and well‑organised, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation

Community Facilitator – Accessible Reserves
Shrewsbury, Shropshire / Hybrid with at least one day a week in our Shrewsbury office and regular travel within Shropshire.
£17,666 per annum (FTE £29,443 per annum) + 7% pension contribution

At Shropshire Wildlife Trust (SWT), we believe everyone should have access to nature. We’re working to make our nature reserves more inclusive, welcoming and accessible for all - and we need your help.
At present, not everyone in Shropshire is able to access nature equally. Physical access on many sites is difficult for many, and we’ve heard from the communities we work with that people can feel excluded from nature reserves by poor information, uncertain access or just not feeling it’s for people like them.
Our Accessible Reserves Programme is a multi-year initiative aimed at breaking down the physical, emotional and cultural barriers that prevent people from enjoying nature. We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Community Facilitator to connect with local communities and help shape this important work.

The organisation is a charity that believes that experienced professionals can make exceptional teachers who shape young lives. That’s why, since 2017, they have worked to attract, support and champion those who make a courageous career leap into the classroom; more than 1,300 so far.
The charity currently has teachers in over 700 schools, teaching over 125,000 students. Their purpose is to stand beside career-change teachers as they navigate a new professional identity and bring their experiences, skills and networks to the students, subjects and schools that need them.
The charity has developed a strong brand, reflecting it’s unique work in the sector, and has some high-profile champions and advocates who enable the charity to secure regular national print and television coverage. The charity invests significantly into it’s marketing budget to achieve it’s goals of recruiting new career changers to it’s programmes.
This Head of Communications and Marketing role is available on a permanent contract and full-time or part-time basis (0.8 FTE/4 days per week). This is a hybrid role where you will be mainly based from home. The postholder will be based in London for monthly co-working days with the team and meetings with external clients when needed. The salary range for this role is £46,000-£50,000 FTE (dependant on level of experience).
In this role you will report to the Director of Philanthropy and Communications, and together, provide strategic leadership to shape and share the charity's story, driving engagement across key audiences to support their mission and vision.
You will work closely with the Recruitment Director and their team to shape marketing strategy to recruit new teachers through digital channels. You will oversee and maintain the website, blogs, annual impact report, films, and core content. You will develop and grow the Now Teach brand, ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
You will manage a significant budget and play a key role in maximising return on investment. You will create and monitor communications metrics and KPls. You will provide media support by managing an outsourced press office to secure targeted coverage aligned with the charity's strategic priorities. You will identify and develop new opportunities in line with their strategy. You will also own and use the marketing automation platform (Active Campaign), automating marketing activity.
To be successful in this role, you be a proactive and hands-on individual with demonstratable experience in a strategic marketing and/or communications role. You will have a proven track record of communicating a cause using a range of communications tactics and engaging external audiences. You will be comfortable with designing and implementing ideas to support with developing and improving strategy.
You will have strong communication skills, with the ability to work with different internal departments, external contractors and consultants. You will also have experience in line management. You will have strong project management skills and experience using marketing automation platforms and other multichannel marketing technologies.
