About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Fundraiser to join our Community Fundraising team. Community is at the heart of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, and our community fundraising team play a vital role in building relationships and raising funds across our community and catchment. As a Community Fundraiser you will enjoy working with people and supporting the community to maximise, they’re fundraising efforts for Shooting Star.
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
As a key member of our Community Fundraising team, you will work closely with the Senior Public Fundraising Manager and Head of Supporter Engagement on new and existing fundraising activities, helping to maintain and develop existing relationships and work proactively to identify new contacts and opportunities for development.
About you
This role requires experience in fundraising or relevant transferable skills gained from a comparable role. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within a charity that makes a meaningful impact across our communities. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in fundraising, marketing or sales, as well as those who can demonstrate strong relationship management skills gained in other roles.
With strong customer service and administration skills, you will have the ability to work independently, while collaborating effectively as part of the wider fundraising team, to support the growth and success of our income.
This role involves attending events and meetings throughout the catchment area, some of which take place during evenings, early mornings or weekends. Any additional hours worked will be recognised through time off in lieu where appropriate, and reasonable travel expenses will be approved in line with our expenses policy.
While the post is based at our Hampton hospice, the role involves travelling regularly across Shooting Star Children’s Hospices’ catchment area, so a full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential.

The role has key responsibility for all income generation activities at Swindon Food Collective. This includes high-profile networking with local businesses, corporations and the public sector, processing grant applications, growing and managing key corporate partnerships and significantly increasing fundraising activities. Main Responsibilities:

This commission covers the Development Phase of a Heritage Fund-supported capital project and the period during which the Delivery Phase application is being assessed. The Fundraiser will collaborate closely with the client team, project manager and stakeholders throughout.
The redevelopment of Benton End seeks to:
- Conserve and restore the Grade II* listed house and associated gardens structures
- Create inclusive and accessible facilities for learning, exhibitions, and residencies
- Respect and celebrate the site’s layered heritage, including its significance in queer history
- Embed sustainability and environmental responsibility in all design choices
- Enable operational and financial sustainability through a mixed-use business model
The fundraising consultant will be responsible for raising a total of £2.7m by December 2027. This comprises £1.8m in gifts or pledges in order to match-fund The National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Delivery Phase grant of £2.65m; and the remainder to support additional output costs at Benton End.
The consultant will be expected to lead on the following areas:
- Review the Fundraising process for the Development Phase of the project in partnership with the client team
- Review the existing Fundraising Strategy submitted to the Heritage Fund (see tender pack)
- Re-develop, update and deliver a comprehensive Fundraising Strategy to achieve the necessary match funding for the Delivery Phase of the project including phased targets, pipeline planning, and approach methodology
- Identify potential funding sources, including charitable trusts and foundations, major individual donors, philanthropic legacy leads (including those with interests in art, horticulture, LGBTQIA+ causes, and regional heritage), corporate supporters and in-kind contributors
- Cross check all potential funding sources and potential prospects with the client team, paying particular attention to the Garden Museum’s other fundraising programmes, existing funders and live/upcoming campaigns
- Produce a detailed fundraising plan with goals, milestones, specific targets and details of which funding sources will be approached at each stage of the campaign
- Support cultivation of key prospects, including advising on pitches, proposals, and relationship management and leading these where appropriate
- Develop a 'Case for Support' and campaign materials tailored to different audiences
- Work with the client team to ensure fundraising aligns with Heritage Fund Delivery Phase submission (August 2027), Activity and Interpretation Plans and capital delivery timelines and cash flow needs
- Provide reports on all fundraising activity and data collected, in formats that are compatible with the client team’s CRM
- Support the implementation of the live campaign: tracking targets, overseeing donor communications, and managing asks
The selected consultant should have:
- A strong track record of raising capital funds in the arts, culture, or heritage sector
- Experience working with national funders (e.g. trusts/foundations, High Net Worth Individuals, and corporates)
- Knowledge of Heritage Fund processes and expectations
- Experience in creating compelling cases for support, particularly for multidisciplinary projects (art, heritage, gardens, LGBTQIA+ history)
- Sensitivity to inclusive fundraising and community engagement
- Strategic thinking with a collaborative and proactive working style
The budget for the fundraising consultant's fee is a maximum of £36,000 excl VAT, to include all travel and expenses and with an expectation that the consultant will be on site regularly at Benton End, Hadleigh, Suffolk.
This consultant will report into the Project Manager, but will also work very closely with the Garden Museum Development Director and the Benton End Board.

As a senior member of the Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC) Fundraising & Marketing team, your main objective is to lead the development and management of our community fundraising programme to maximise income to meet annual targets.
You will play a vital role in stewarding effective relationships to maximise support from our existing supporters and crucially, for driving new donor acquisition to ensure the sustainability of our work. Developing our community fundraising programme is essential to our income base and profile. Key Accountabilities
Community & Events Fundraising

- To develop and manage the team, empowering them to deliver the BWHC ‘In Aid of’ strategic plan, focussing on expanding the network of supporters who fundraise for and are happy to represent BWHC externally
- To develop, manage and deliver the BWHC Community Group plan, focusing on acquisition of new supporters and development of our retention plan
- To raise income and profile through the development, management, promotion of a portfolio of events (BWHC events, third party events and In Aid of events), ensuring maximum participation
- To develop and manage the team to deliver stewardship of in memory fundraisers and income from funeral collection
- To work with the Hospital Partnership Manager to develop a strategic approach to increase levels of hospital staff fundraising
- To manage and develop BWHC’s trading offer, including overall management of the physical Fundraising Hub and development of online shop
- To ensure exceptional, personalised but proportionate donor stewardship including continued development of product led stewardship e.g. in celebration
- To oversee the recruitment, training, stewardship and management of volunteers to provide support across the charity
- To work with the Brand & Marketing Team to create and deliver a media programme to maximise participation in BWHC activity
- Supported by the Head of Public Fundraising, to work with the IG & Legacy Manager and Supporter Experience, Data & Insight Team in particular to define, develop and deliver cross-portfolio supporter journeys and consistent supporter care.
Leadership & Management
- To provide strong leadership and management to the Community Partnerships & Events Fundraising Officer, Community Partnerships & Event Assistant and Volunteer Officer to ensure they are encouraged and motivated to perform at their best, fulfil their role and achieve agreed targets/KPI’s.
Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the development and review of Fundraising & Marketing strategy.
- Accountability for Community Fundraising plan and maximising long-term growth in this area
- Develop, implement and monitor annual operational plans, budgets and income forecasting, and ensure internal reporting is completed
- Ongoing evaluation of activity to ensure maximised return on investment

About the role
At the RSPCA Finchley Branch, we are seeking a practical and organised Branch Manager to support the delivery and development of our local animal welfare services and the oversight of our retail operations through the line management of Shop Managers.
This is a strategic role with a hands-on focus on operational delivery, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across animal welfare, retail operations through the line management of Shop Managers and volunteer activity. Working closely with Trustees, the postholder will help ensure that services are delivered effectively, safely and in line with our charitable objectives, with a clear focus on achieving positive outcomes for animals and the community.
The role is hybrid, combining remote working with regular travel across the branch area, including visits to our charity shops in East Finchley and North Finchley, as well as occasional in-person meetings and operational activity where needed to deliver the Branch outcomes in line with the agreed objectives and priorities.
In this role, you will
You will be responsible for the effective delivery of animal welfare outcomes across the branch, ensuring animals are safely supported from intake through to rehoming, while also supporting the RSPCA Inspectorate. Alongside this, you will oversee day-to-day branch operations, including managing a small team of staff and volunteers, overseeing the performance of the branch’s retail activity through the line management of Shop Managers to contribute to sustainable income.
Working with the Chair and the relevant Trustee portfolio lead, including the Treasurer, to ensure financial oversight, governance and compliance and to deliver the agreed objectives, and working with veterinary partners, staff and volunteers, other RSPCA branches as well as other charities, you will ensure that services are delivered consistently, responsibly and in line with the branch’s priorities.
