Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. We are looking for someone with the skills and ability to offer a coordinated approach in supporting young carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
As a Young Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to young carers and a commitment to enhancing their wellbeing. The role supports in the direct delivery of a range of services to young carers including information and advice, emotional support, a mentoring programme, signposting and referrals to other specialist organisations. As part of the Young Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in the planning and delivery of an extensive programme of leisure break activities for young carers, both term-time and in the school holidays. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of young carers, raise the profile of young carers and ensure young carers needs are met. Using all your skills, you will work with the team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we’ve achieved.
You will be someone:

Main Duties include:
· To provide regular emotional support to young carers and their families through a range of methods, offering appropriate, generic advice
· To provide individual support to young carers, and sibling young carers on a case-by-case basis towards established outcomes through delivery of a mentoring programme
· To be proactive in the identification and registration of young carers, which will include conducting internal assessments of their caring role and responsibilities and identifying support needs
· To support with the planning and participate in the delivery of young carers group activities and events
· To work with schools, voluntary organisations, statutory services, health services and others to raise awareness and identify young carers
· To keep accurate records of group and individual young carer engagement for monitoring and evaluation purposes
· To participate in key events organised by Richmond Carers Centre and other relevant partners to promote services to a wider public

Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Director of Income and Engagement, you will identify, assess and manage contract and funding opportunities. You'll lead the development of compelling, high-quality and cost-effective bids and proposals (including re-securing existing contracts), coordinating bid plans and bid teams to ensure a consistent approach. You will also support mobilisation of new contracts and services and build relationships with commissioners, funders and partners. Using insight, outcomes data and carers' feedback, you'll strengthen bids, inform service improvement and support the development of innovative service models that improve outcomes for carers.
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong track record of securing new contracts and re-securing existing contracts, with experience of commissioning and procurement processes in health, social care or the voluntary sector. You'll have proven experience of leading bid development activity and bid teams, producing high-quality, persuasive proposals to tight deadlines, alongside strong senior stakeholder engagement skills with commissioners, funders and partner organisations. You'll bring a good understanding of health and care systems (including Local Authority and Integrated Care System priorities and pressures), plus experience of service design and improvement, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and people with lived experience.

About Chapter One
Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in thirteen areas/regions of the UK and will support over 4,000 children in 2026-27.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (Y1-3) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading. About the Role
Chapter One is seeking a Bradford Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently in and around West Yorkshire. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work some additional hours during busy autumn weeks, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.
There are plans for future expansion in Bradford so the role may grow, in time.
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers.
Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms.
Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up.
Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom.
Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and effectively communicate this to others as needed.
Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles.
Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed.
Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise.
Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends.
Create regular data summaries for all participating classrooms.
Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools.
Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required.
Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary. This may include opportunities for Chapter One children to visit the office of the volunteers.

You’ll start at our entry point salary of £33,044 per annum, increasing to £35,109 after 6 months service and satisfactory performance and to £37,174 after a further 6 months.

About this job
This is a pivotal role at the heart of the MS Society in Northern Ireland. As the Quality Assurance and NI Resource Centre Manager, you will be the driving force behind our NI Resource Centre on Annadale Avenue in Belfast, ensuring it remains a vibrant, well-managed hub for the MS community.
You will play a vital role in connecting the services delivered at the Centre to the wider community, fostering engagement and ensuring our supporters and service users receive excellent care. The Resource Centre is not only a focal point for activities and support but also serves as a key hub for our staff and volunteers.

Job Title: Head of Dog Rehoming Charity

Location: Bromley Heights Rescue Centre HP23 6LD
Salary: £35-40k
Hours: 40 per week on an agreed rota (includes weekends and bank holidays)

Responsibilities
Be responsible for all aspects of the Charity - dogs, people, facilities ,compliance and finances
Manage the charity and the skilled staff within it
Optimise the rescue of dogs and maintain the high quality of care currently in place
Drive the marketing, brand awareness and fundraising of the charity
Actively promote high standards of care with the staff and volunteers
Support and co-ordinate the volunteers, foster carers and members
About the team
We have an experienced team of 13 staff in place across the Charity. They are passionate about caring for the dogs and finding suitable loving homes for them in the next stage of their lives.
What we’re looking for
Essential
· A self starter with a passion for improving the lives of the dogs in our care
· Proven senior leadership experience in a charity, animal welfare, or similar organisation.
· Strong understanding of animal welfare principles and UK legislation affecting rehoming charities.
· Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, team leadership, and financial oversight.
· Successful track record in fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and partnership building.
· Excellent communication, people management, empathy, and decision-making skills.
· Good listening skills and openness to staff proposals, suggestions. Utilisation of existing staff experience and qualifications
· Experience working directly in rescue, veterinary, or kennels environments.
· Knowledge of health and Safety and employment law
Desirable
· Knowledge of marketing, PR, and community engagement strategies.
· Qualification in charity management, business administration, or animal welfare.
