About the role

The Campaigns Communications Officer plays an important role in delivering communications activity that supports ARUK’s strategic priorities, major campaigns and organisational narrative. Key Responsibilities:
Delivery & Production

Grant Application Writing & Prospecting

Proposal & Application Writing: Research, draft, and submit tailored, compelling grant applications and proposals to UK-based trusts, foundations, statutory funding bodies, and major donors. This will include drafting accurate project budgets and financial forecasts for bids. Last year alone, we delivered more than 700 sessions to over 15,000 learners across the UK in policing, health, housing, justice, education and the specialist sector. And we have reached 90,000 adult and 100,000 child survivors through programmes designed and delivered with partners.
In the last 9 years, close to 7,000 perpetrators have been challenged and supported to change through flagship interventions developed by our Drive Partnership and the programme continues to expand year on year.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive fundraiser who can build relationships, grow community support and create engaging communications that make a difference.
Salary: £30,000 – £34,000
Location: Hybrid – home and Loughborough, with occasional travel across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, committed fundraising team within a charity working to prevent homelessness and support people at risk.
Working closely with the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, you will help deliver an ambitious fundraising and communications strategy, increasing voluntary income, raising the charity’s profile and developing lasting relationships with supporters, businesses and local communities.
It is a varied role combining community fundraising, supporter engagement, events, digital fundraising and communications.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing community fundraising opportunities that increase income and awareness.
- Building relationships with schools, universities, businesses, community groups and individual supporters.
- Representing the charity at community events, talks and networking opportunities.
- Helping to create and deliver fundraising events, campaigns and challenge events.
- Creating engaging social media and website content, including case studies and video.

About you
You will be a confident relationship-builder who enjoys getting out into the community, meeting people and turning conversations into meaningful support.
You will ideally have at least two years’ experience within charity fundraising, with experience across one or more areas such as community fundraising, corporate partnerships, major donors, digital fundraising or social media.
You will be comfortable making the ask for support, developing fundraising ideas and creating engaging communications. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively as part of a small team.
You will need to be able to travel across the local area, and some occasional evening and weekend working will be required. A DBS check is also required.

What will you do?
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for all facilities and estate functions across Yeldall Manor.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team including maintenance, estates, catering, housekeeping, IT and Coach House staff.
