Job description

Working closely with senior stakeholders and the Leadership Development Team (particularly the Programme Coordinator), the Archdeacons' Support Officer plays a key role in ensuring archdeacons are well supported in their ministry. The post holder, as the Executive Officer of the College, will help coordinate the effective running of the College of Archdeacons, including meetings, events and communications, while contributing to the delivery of induction programmes for new archdeacons and supporting ongoing ministerial development for members of the College.

Operations & Communications

  • Coordinate the smooth running of the College of Archdeacons, including meetings, conferences, communications and committee support.
  • Manage communications and information flows to ensure members remain well-informed and connected.
  • Administer the College budget on behalf of the College Executive

Programme Delivery & Development

  • In collaboration with the College's Training and Development Committee and Leadership Development Team colleagues, support the design, coordination and delivery of national induction, wellbeing and leadership development programmes for Archdeacons, ensuring high-quality and consistent provision which meet the needs of participants.
  • Facilitate the ongoing review and improvement of programmes, including gathering and analysing feedback and evaluation data to enable continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

  • Build effective working relationships with the College Executive, diocesan and national teams to enable collaboration and representation of Archdeacons in key initiatives and forums.

Data, Systems & Resources

  • Maintain accurate records and databases in line with GDPR requirements and support the effective management of programme and College budgets.

Team Contribution

  • Contribute as an active member of the Leadership Development Team and wider Ministry Development Team, supporting shared priorities and contributing to the delivery of cross-team initiatives.

Governance

  • Support the effective oversight of this work through regular reporting to the Leadership Development Advisory Group and other oversight committees as required.
