About this role
The role of Health Engagement Worker will involve supporting a caseload of service users that are experiencing homelessness. The role requires the use of specialist knowledge and relationship skills to influence service users with varying degrees of mental health, addiction and trauma related issues to engage with health services.
This will include advocacy in registering them for medical services and accompanying them to appointments; assisting them in addressing all aspects of physical and mental health or substance addiction needs, as well as advocating or them to get access to source housing and social security benefits. Working collaboratively with our partners Arch Healthcare the role is dependent on good communication and joint working with a variety of partners and professionals.
The role requires a high degree of motivation to support complex and vulnerable people, often in a lone-working situation. With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our service users, and with some experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity.
A high degree of emotional intelligence is required to support service users, many of whom have complex emotional needs, with backgrounds of trauma, neglect, abuse, crime and low self-worth. A role of this nature will experience a range of emotions from joy to grief and as such requires a high degree of resilience to cope with the emotional demands of the role.
Making decisions, “in the moment” to do the right thing to mitigate risk with service users can place high emotional demands on the job holder. The role is highly reactive, unpredictable and at times, chaotic. The role therefore requires a high degree of self-awareness to one’s own resilience levels and exercising appropriate levels of self-care.

Justlife is in existence because we know thousands of people struggle to manage in poor and unsuitable temporary accommodation. Their stay isn’t temporary, they are likely to be suffering with deteriorating mental and physical health, becoming victims of crime, losing control of their life and even dying prematurely. Justlife delivers impactful services in Greater Manchester and Brighton & Hove, supporting and empowering people experiencing homelessness in temporary accommodation. We also drive positive system change across the national temporary accommodation sector, convening those with a common interest; people with lived experience, landlords, charities, local and national government, and carrying out research and gathering insights.

Role Summary

Role Description
Service Delivery
Using frontline practical and procedural knowledge of working with complex service users to support them to engage with health care services during their housing vulnerability. This could include, but is not limited to;
· Assisting them in addressing housing, financial, health or wellbeing needs
· Accompanying them to appointments
· Connecting them with appropriate support services such as substance misuse services or food banks
· Collaborating with agencies such as the local authority, housing providers and support services
· Advocating on behalf of the service user to access medical care, housing and benefits.
· Maintaining regular contact, a listening ear and emotional support during times of crisis
· Helping increase their self-confidence and self-efficacy to improve their chances of moving on from homelessness
· Manage own calendar to deliver a caseload during periods of work-related pressure, including actively pursuing the project outcomes set for the project and individual clients.
· Use interpersonal and communication skills to provide support to service users and collaborate with others including colleagues, partner agencies, health care professionals and external agencies.
· Take duty of care seriously by assessing the service users social and environmental conditions, drawing out and passing on relevant information to and from healthcare professionals, ensuring client confidentiality is maintained.
· Use of excellent writing skills to prepare and submit housing applications along with a good working knowledge of housing legislation in order to advocate on behalf of service users.
· Support delivery of the activities programme where needed.
· Brief and liaise with other members of the team and external agencies regarding service users, enabling them to effectively carry out their roles.
· To record all service user data on the Inform system within the standards set by the organisation.
· Carry out light physical tasks, such as travelling to visit service users, shopping or lifting office equipment.
· Oversee work streams within the project as directed by the Project Lead.
Service Development
· Collaborate with the Advocacy and Patient Discharge Coordinater, maintain good standards of support for patients as well as good communication with hospital staff and the weekday in-reach team.
· Contribute to initiatives that seek to influence service improvements, implement changes and develop new interventions and support for clients.
· Provide reports and case studies when requested.
· To be part of and contribute to the Justlife staff team, attending meetings as appropriate and to be involved in appropriate staff development, training, supervision and reflective practice as well as continuing professional development and training events where appropriate and be committed to team events.
Research
· Supporting the wider Justlife vision to feed into research and help develop the service including the involvement of service users in design and delivery of the service.

The Volunteer and Events Manager will develop and implement a volunteer strategy and annual RLSS UK plan of events, for all Directorates, which evolves to include opportunities as they arise. To do so successfully, you will be a proactive, dynamic and experienced Volunteer and Events Manager who will lead our centralised management function with passion, excitement and dedication to RLSS UK’s purpose, mission and vision.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a professional volunteer and events function ensuring supply and demand needs are met across RLSS UK and supporting all teams to embed a consistent and coordinated approach
- To develop, implement and oversee the delivery of the volunteer strategy
- To develop and implement effective strategies, polices and processes to engage and retain volunteers and ensure a high-quality volunteer experience at all stages of the volunteer cycle
- To develop and implement effective event management strategies, policies and processes incorporating all health and safety requirements
- To lead and continuously improve our support to volunteers across the UK and Ireland
- Develop, implement and review an innovative volunteer recognition and reward offer

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes
- Approximately 7+ years’ experience in a volunteer management role
- Approximately 5+ years' experience in a events management role
- Experience of working at a manager level ideally in a membership organisation

The role will be responsible for developing a range of volunteering opportunities for international alumni, which support Birmingham 2030 targets around graduate employability, student recruitment, student experience, research and influence. Digital Communications & Engagement Manager

We are looking for a Digital Communications and Engagement Manager to drive forward the Disabled Children's Partnership's digital presence, supporter mobilisation, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Campaign Director, this role is crucial in ensuring the Partnership’s campaigns are visible, engaging, and impactful.
Delivery of our campaign objectives depends on the contributions of our members and supporters. This role will be the central point of coordination of a complex programme of activity from multiple member organisations and teams. You will deliver excellent digital communications to members, provide support for all DCP meetings, and maintain accurate plans and calendars to track activity and report on progress.
This role is a fixed‑term position (30 hours per week, worked over 4 days) until June 2027. We’re open to discussing how these hours can best work for you. Some on‑call and out‑of‑hours working may be required.

The Role
The Volunteer Recruitment Officer will lead structured volunteer growth and engagement across REMAP’s national branch network. An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Borde Hill team to work on the Reinventing Borde Hill project. This role will be responsible for managing the Community Growing Garden at Sugworth Farm, part of our new 2-acre biodynamic market garden which produces seasonal fruit and vegetables to supply the new restaurant, café and farm shop at Borde Hill.
Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project includes an Activity Plan including a range of learning, community and volunteering activities, and this new role will have responsibility for overseeing community engagement both at the Community Growing Garden, and across the Parkland and main Garden.
Your role will focus on two key areas: overseeing the seasonal growing at the Community Growing Garden with volunteers and community partners, and developing and delivering an annual site-wide community engagement programme.
You will work closely with the NLHF Project Team, as well as the Green team. You will lead on liaising with local schools, community groups and charities, encouraging and facilitating participation in the Community Growing and wider site community programmes. Your passion for learning, community engagement, horticulture and nature will be key in ensuring this programme succeeds in delivering the ambitions set out in the Activity Plan.
Although funded via the Lottery project, this role is permanent as we are committed to continuing it after the funded project; we intend to continue the wide range of the activities that your role will nurture and develop.

We are looking for an Email Engagement Officer build on the success of our digital mobilisation strategy and supercharge our digital fundraising. This is a fun and rewarding role that will manage our email schedule, drive forward our email journeys and support our fundraising appeals and digital campaigns.
You’ll plan and produce engaging emails that inspire new and existing supporters to take action, such as making a financial gift, signing a petition or reading a blog on our website. With a keen eye for data and analysis, every week you’ll monitor results and make decisions on how to improve conversions.
This role is needed because we want to mobilise more of the public behind our mission. We need more people in the UK to care about global hunger and feel like – together - we can actually do something about it. The Email Engagement Officer is going to help us make that happen. Harris Hill is delighted to be recruiting an Engagement Manager for Cook for Good, a community organisation that uses food to bring people together, reduce food insecurity and create positive change.
Location: King’s Cross, London
Salary: £35,000 per annum (pro rata, if necessary)
Contract: Permanent, 4-5 days a week

General Duties:
18. Attend and participate in team meetings, training and events that ensure the effective sharing of information and co-ordination with the team’s activities.
19. Undertake administrative and maintenance duties that assist in the smooth running of the Neighbourhood Support Base. This will include taking collective responsibility in relation to matters of health and safety, equipment maintenance, data protection and confidentiality management, and visitor service and care.
20. Ensure that all NST activities are undertaken in line with the legal requirements and b inspired policy, procedures and good practice. This includes the production of risk assessments and other data that can demonstrate effective and safe planning.
21. Undertake consultations in-line with the Neighbourhood Action Plan and work alongside other members of the NST to gather, collate and analyse information that inform perceived local need/s.
22. Work outside normal office hours and at weekends as and when required.
23. To ensure promotion and implementation of The Braunstone Foundation’s policies in relation to Equalities; to ensure that buildings, equipment and facilities are managed in a safe and effective way in line with Health and safety requirements.
