This is a people-facing, system-focused role. The MEL Systems Officer is responsible for maintaining the quality, organisation, and user uptake of Practical Action's online MEL system. 2. USER SUPPORT & RELATIONSHIP BUILDING • Act as the primary point of contact for MEL and programme staff on system queries, providing high quality customer support, managing user accounts, permissions and access. • Routinely deliver onboarding and training sessions for new and existing users. • Build strong relationships across our MEL community, proactively identifying challenges and opportunities for system improvements.

3. REPORTING & DASHBOARDS • Produce organisational impact dashboards, MEL reports, and supporting information for both annual and donor reporting, all in clear, accessible formats for a range of stakeholders. • Support MEL colleagues to extract and present data for project reviews, evaluations and learning processes.

4. MEL PROCESS SUPPORT • Incorporate theories of change, results frameworks and indicators into the system as they develop over time, working with MEL colleagues to incorporate latest thinking. • Support knowledge sharing within internal communities of practice by ensuring that reports, evaluations, learning products and evidence are accessible on internal platforms. • Provide technical MEL advice and support to programme teams and II&I colleagues as required.

The Finance and Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing our day-to-day financial systems, overseeing the running of our database and website, and providing administrative support for the general running of the organisation, including project managing our community and fundraising events. Your Key Duties and Accountabilities

Finance Administration

• Place, track and process orders, invoices, expenses and financial transactions

• Maintain Quickbooks with all transactions, provide reports as required and maintain the interface between CiviCRM and Quickbooks

• Set up payments for authorisation in the bank account as required

• Generate contracts as required

• Maintain relationships with suppliers, venues and partners

Events

Main purpose of role

To oversee the charity’s financial management, ensuring accurate reporting, effective budgeting and robust controls. The Senior Finance Manager provides insight to support strategic decision-making, maintains compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and manages day-to-day finance operations to safeguard the organisation’s financial health.

In addition, as part of a small team, the Senior Finance Manager provides light-touch HR support to assist with processes – such as appraisals, payroll and staff records — helping to ensure smooth operations in the absence of a dedicated HR function.

Key tasks – finance

• Ensure accurate recording of information of various funding (industry, donations, memberships etc), spending, banking 

• Manual bookkeeping and liaising with Accountants in the UK and in Belgium to ensure data is uploaded correctly to Sage (or similar software) 

• Monthly month end checks on Sage and accurate nominal coding, working with PE’s appointed accountants 

• Raise invoices and credit control

• Accounts payable & expenses process including employee and freelance pay

They will be critical in providing expertise and establishing new ways of working across key Amref UK teams, including Supporter Engagement, Programmes & Strategic Partnerships, Finance, Operations and Senior Management.  The postholder will be the organisational expert in Microsoft Dynamics working with senior leaders, Amref HQ ICT, Amref’s global Fundraising Development team (F&D) and third-party vendors to develop, implement and integrate processes and reporting tools that aid analysis and insight.  They will work with HQ ICT to deliver improved functionality and system upgrades while maintaining data integrity and compliance requirements.  Experience in relational database design and familiarity with marketing tools such as Google Analytics would also be an advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Routine Financial Oversight 

• Oversee the accurate recording, processing and coding of all financial transactions, including income, expenditure and journals 
• Perform bank and petty cash reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and key control accounts 
• Maintain accruals / prepayments / deferred income /accrued income schedules 
• Maintain oversight of the fixed asset register and depreciation.

We are a growing charity with an annual income of £3.5m with a diversified funding portfolio including grants, donations and trading income with a mix of restricted and unrestricted funds. This is a new part‑time role within Leukaemia UK’s Finance & Resources team and forms part of a planned transition from an outsourced finance model to a fully in‑house finance function. The role has been created to strengthen internal finance capability and resilience as the organisation prepares to deliver its newly approved five‑year strategy from 2027.

You will play a leading, hands‑on role in running the organisation’s core finance operations, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting and effective support to teams across the organisation. Working closely with the Director of Finance & Resources, you will take ownership of core finance processes providing operational leadership, internal business partnering and process discipline.

As part of a small central team, you will work alongside the Director of Finance & Resources and the Finance Officer, and partner closely with colleagues across the organisation. Essential:

• Significant experience and confidence in managing a full range of finance operations in a small or medium sized charitable organisation.
• Qualified or part-qualified accountant, holding one of the UK mainstream accountancy qualifications with strong operational finance experience.
• Excellent knowledge of UK charity SORP and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and month and year-end processes.
• Strong experience in preparing management accounts, forecasts, budgets and statutory accounts.
