Job Title: Complex Needs Recovery Worker
Location: This role is based in Balham. The service is a short walk from Clapham South Station (Northern Line Underground). Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.
Salary: £28,800
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday on a rota between 08:00 - 21:30. You may be required to work bank holidays and evenings as required. You may be required to work additional hours outside of the hours to meet service and resident needs.
About the Role
We're hiring a Complex Needs Recovery Worker to join our team based in Penrose Focus. In this role, you will support residents who have a history of forensic mental health issues with co morbidity, often alongside co-occurring substance misuse disorders. The residents range from high risk to low support and our aim is to provide tailored support to help them reintegrate into the community.
As a Complex Needs Recovery Worker, you will identify individual resident needs, and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals. We're looking for a genuine passion for supporting people who may have complex needs which includes forensic mental health. Experience in mental health or support work is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and will have alignment with our SIG values. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves.

Senior Peer Support Workers and Peer Support Workers, who have direct lived experience of mental health issues, are working on in-patient wards in Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth to provide recovery-focused peer support to people as they leave hospital and journey towards living independently in the community.
We are seeking a Senior Peer Support Worker to join the team in Lewisham, using personal lived experience of mental health difficulties to provide person-centred, recovery-focused peer support to people on hospital wards and as they are discharged to journey towards being settled in the community. This role will also line manage a Peer Support Worker, providing regular supervision and support, annual appraisals and development opportunities.
The Senior Peer Support Worker will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team within the Unit, assisting in-patients in developing essential skills and coping mechanisms, while promoting overall wellness through strength based and non-directive conversations. They will provide both practical and emotional support, facilitate access to community resources to help individuals maintain their independence while ensuring their wellbeing.
Additionally, this role includes supporting service users after discharge in the community for up to 12 weeks, aiding them in fostering independence within their local community, connecting with various agencies, enhancing life skills, providing guidance related to employment or educational opportunities and improving their ability to manage challenges effectively to prevent re-admission.
This position requires building connections with service users through shared experiences of mental health challenges, making lived experience a crucial requirement for applicants. You will also need to have previous experience of line management/managerial responsibilities.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Contract: Permanent role working five days per week
Salary: £35,957 to £37,890 per annum
Location: Hybrid role between home and the London office, with two days per week in the office in N1

As Communications Manager, you will play a central role in shaping how London Youth engages with the audiences that matter most. About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting young people through education by acting as the vital link between partner schools and a team of inspirational volunteer mentors.
Working closely with schools, you will coordinate and oversee the successful delivery of the charity's in-school programme, ensuring volunteers have the guidance, support and resources they need to make a lasting difference to pupils' lives. Alongside programme coordination, you will help develop volunteers throughout their year of service, supporting their professional development while building strong relationships with schools and key stakeholders.
The role is predominantly school-based from Monday to Thursday, with most Fridays spent attending training and development sessions at the Birmingham office or online.
What you'll be doing
● Lead, coach and develop a team of Volunteer Mentors throughout their year of service.
● Build strong partnerships with school leaders and staff.
● Ensure high-quality delivery of City Year's school programme.
● Support volunteers' wellbeing, engagement and professional development.
● Monitor and evaluate programme impact using data and feedback.
● Act as the main relationship manager between City Year UK and your partner school.
● Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve the experience for schools, pupils and volunteers.
● Support the delivery of our Leadership Development Programme, helping Volunteer Mentors build the skills, confidence and experience they need for future careers.
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and enjoy building positive relationships with others.
You may come from an education, youth work, volunteering, project coordination or community engagement background, although we're open to a range of experiences as long as you have the right skills and passion.
