The role

We are looking for 2 IDVAS to join our DRIVE team and work within the Drive Project model across Cheshire. The role involves providing one-to-one support to adult victims / survivors of domestic abuse, working with high-risk victims of domestic abuse linked to the Drive Project perpetrator/MATAC panel. 

In this role you will complete and regularly review risk and needs assessments with victims - survivors of domestic abuse.You will liaise with partner agencies, actively contributing to multi-agency plans and risk management / safeguarding procedures. You will carry out a large and varied range of practical support which may include safety planning, advocacy and explaining legal and civil options available. We also offer emotional support to those people we work with, encouraging and supporting them to rebuild lost confidence and self-esteem. Using a trauma-informed approach you will place the people we are supporting at the centre of your work. You will work alongside a multiagency team and be the voice for the victim on local perpetrator panels. You will work alongside the Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker to ensure safe working across victim and perpetrator work, risk assessing actions together to support best practice and overall safety.

About you

You’ll have a deep understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on clients and children, as well as the reasons behind abusive behaviours towards intimate partners.

Your knowledge extends to the range of statutory and voluntary agencies that clients and their children may encounter, and you are aware of the impact of domestic abuse on children and parenting, including the additional needs of clients from BMER communities.

You will have experience in working with clients on issues of domestic abuse, providing one-to-one and group support and advice, managing your own workload and administration, and assessing the risk and safety of your clients and those connected to your client.  You will have handled safeguarding disclosures and referrals, and you communicate clearly with a range of people both over the telephone and in person.

You will be organised, able to use your initiative, and work effectively as part of a multi-service team. Your administrative skills are strong, and you are adept at using a computer to maintain effective systems.

Flexible and willing to work evenings, you can travel independently. Additionally, you will understand trauma-informed practices, risk mitigation, and safeguarding. Experience liaising with social workers and other professionals, and in related areas such as substance misuse, child protection, or family support, is desirable. You will have a full IDVA qualification, or the willingness to work towards one.

Fluency in an additional language and skills in group work are also advantageous. You stay updated with best practices and new initiatives.

Fundraising Manager (Community & Events)

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager (Community & Events) to join our Development Team in this hybrid working role. This is an exciting time to join the charity as we continue to grow our services and support even more disabled children, young people and their families across Scotland.

The Role

As Community & Events Fundraising Manager, you will play a vital role in generating the income needed to sustain and grow our services. You will lead and drive our community, events and individual fundraising activity across our sites in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Fife, keeping existing supporters engaged while inspiring new supporters to come on board.

Working as part of the Development Team and reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will help deliver our ambitious fundraising strategy and contribute to the charity’s continued growth.

You will:

• Lead on the delivery and implementation of our community, events and individual funding streams to reach our income targets
• Proactively seek out new supporters, stewarding existing donor relationships and following up on prospects
• Secure and undertake speaking engagements to raise awareness and funds
• Lead by example; sharing your energy, knowledge, ideas and insights to inspire confidence and drive forward the development of our income streams

About You

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about engaging communities and inspiring supporters through events and fundraising activity.

You will have:

• Significant success in managing and growing income from community, events and/or individual fundraising
• At least four years’ experience working in a fundraising or equivalent role
• A strong understanding of supporter stewardship and donor journeys
• Experience of using CRM systems to manage relationships and income

Desirable:

• Experience of volunteering within a charitable organisation
• Knowledge of current fundraising and marketing trends, including the use of AI
• Copywriting experience for a range of audiences and channels

• You will need to have experience of working with children, a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare, and a Paediatric First Aid qualification

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands we are looking for a specialist Advocate for Scotland. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. We welcome applications from candidates with experience of domestic abuse. Scotland is expected to introduce Domestic Homicide and Suicide Reviews commencing in April 2026. We are looking for a candidate with a good understanding of the Scottish legislative system and good understanding around domestic abuse to join our growing charity

Our Specialist Advocates support families impacted by fatal domestic abuse through provision of lay advocacy, for and on behalf of, families with a range of statutory service providers (e.g. those conducting reviews and inquiries, social services, police, housing) and work to build good relations between all parties. To ensure that families get the support they need, you will use AAFDA’s Home Office endorsed seven-step approach to working with individuals and families, to ensure that they receive the best possible support and advocacy to restore dignity and relief for families and to help them cope and recover. Through trauma-informed approaches, you will:

· Listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight.

· Provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide & Suicide Reviews (DHSR’s) and other reviews where relevant and appropriate.

· Manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities.

· Give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf.

· Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.

Introduction

Afield is a brand new charity responding to environmental injustice. We do this by working with communities to rewild disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods; and by supporting artists to undertake ecological research. This exciting and demanding role will be right at the heart of making everything happen!

Objectives

You will work alongside Afield’s two co-founders to define and run the urban wilding and arts grants programmes, including managing the cohort of grantees. We are looking for dynamism, energy and experience of grant management to help us launch the first round of grants and a support programme.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the two co-founders you will set up the arts research and wilding programmes. This will include launching and running opencall and selection processes, and the cohort support programmes. Once established you will lead subsequent programmes, and plan for future cohorts. You will be:

• Feeding into the design of the arts & wilding programmes

• Taking responsibility for, and running, the arts grants grants and wilding programme (including involvement in the selection of grantees, continual learning and evaluation)

• Liaising with partners on programme delivery (eg. local councils for wilding)

• Managing selectors and mentors, supporting peer learning, and organising workshops for both programmes

• Taking responsibility for managing the cohorts

• Working with a second team member (to be recruited) to promote the programme

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is: 

• Empathetic, has a positive attitude and a desire to help our grantees

• Energetic with a can-do, self-sufficient attitude, and with the ability to independently manage a busy workload, multiple deadlines and priorities

• Confident in their ability whilst self-aware and committed to ongoing development

• Interested (and perhaps experienced) in nature, ecology or the environment

We would also like to work with someone who has:

• Experience of running a grants or funded cohort programme (ideally in either arts grants or a pioneer-style programme)

• Ability and comfort in creating structure out of ambiguity; identifying challenges and opportunities; and expressing clear proposals for change

• Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written

• Good analytical and project management skills, and strong competency in setting up and using technology such as an application management platform

• Experience of line management or managing contractors. This is not essential, as there will not initially be full line management responsibility, but would be a benefit.

Compensation and benefits

• 4 days per week role, for which the salary is £34,500 (FTE: £43,000)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Service Manager to join our service based in Southwark. The service is a short-term (up to two years) supported living service for people who have an enduring mental health diagnosis and who require and can benefit from, the help and support offered. It consists of 14 self-contained flats and one crisis room for adult men with medium to high-level support needs who require 24-hour supported accommodation, helping them to continue to live in the community and to reduce the risk of admission to hospital.

In this role, you will support in leading the team by providing overall leadership to the service and line management responsibilities to support, enable, and empower your team to deliver high quality support to our residents. You will also support with some day to day responsibilities of the team such as providing tailored support to our residents directly. As a Manager, you will support in driving service outcomes in line with contractual requirements, ensuring quality and consistency within a trauma and psychologically informed environment. You will ensure the service runs smoothly in collaboration with the team, wider teams, and external partners. We're looking for someone who is solution focused, has experience within a similar service environment, and can create a safe space for individuals to learn, and grow.
