With a newly integrated Partnerships Team and an ambitious £5m appeal ahead, Acorns is now seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive high-value corporate new business and secure strategic partnerships that deliver long-term income growth.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, this is a senior corporate new business role focused on identifying, cultivating and converting strategic prospects into multi-year partners. You will own and drive a c.£1m new business pipeline, lead senior-level engagement including C-suite conversations, and secure six-figure+ partnerships aligned to Acorns’ strategic priorities.

As Senior Business Development Manager, you will:

• Own and manage a robust new business pipeline of circa £1m, ensuring accurate forecasting, progression and conversion
• Secure high-value corporate partnerships, including stock generation and innovative fundraising initiatives

Essential skills and experience:

Your role

The People and Culture Lead will be working closely with the Head of People and Culture to ensure recruitment, onboarding, employee reward, employment relations, learning and development and projects serve the long-term goals of CMS.

You are responsible for delivering professional HR service that supports our operations, vision and strategy. This applies specifically to UK contracted staff (some of whom work overseas) and providing support for volunteers (including CMS Trustees) and consultants.

What you’ll need to succeed

The People and Culture Lead role (one-year, fixed term contract, three days per week) will have proven HR experience at a business partner or officer level which includes experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and policy (and will ideally hold CIPD Level 5 accreditation).  The successful candidate will have a good understanding of UK employment law and best HR practice.

Role purpose

Variety, the Children’s Charity is looking for a Head of People and Culture to lead and deliver all aspects of the charity’s people strategy. Part of the Operations Team, this is an exciting role combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational HR management. The postholder will be experienced in driving forward new strategies, ensuring Variety has robust, compliant and people centered practices in place. This role will support a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture which is aligned to Variety’s mission and values.

This is a new role at Variety during an exciting time as we develop and launch a new three-year strategy later this year and invest in our people and culture. The staff team at Variety has grown over the last year, reflecting the charity’s ambitious strategy to double charitable expenditure over the next three years. NRC UK was established in 2020 with the main objective of strengthening the profile, outreach, and impact of the Norwegian Refugee Council as a humanitarian organisation in the United Kingdom. We work to leverage relationships with UK foundations, corporates and private philanthropists to secure funding that enables NRC to deliver its mission and improve the lives of people displaced by conflict.  We also work to influence stakeholders and partners in the UK in order to influence their humanitarian policies and practices.

You are likely to be in the early stages of your career, interested and experienced in humanitarian work and ready to lend your hands-on organisational and administrative skills to to enable the advocacy and fundraising work of the UK Director, the Private Partnerships Special Adviser and the rest of the core team based in the London office.

Responsibilities

1. Support the Private Sector Partnerships Specialist Adviser (50%) and the UK Director (50%) to deliver on key tasks required in order to meet NRC UK’s private fundraising and broader objectives. 

2. Provide administrative support to the Specialist Adviser on tasks necessary to meet fundraising targets, including communications and relationship management, prospect research, due diligence, meeting and event organisation. 

3. Provide administrative support to the UK Director including communications, organising and attending both external and internal meetings and events, taking notes and minutes, research and analysis, document preparation and coordinating input into internal reports including the annual report. 

4. Provide additional ad-hoc administrative support to the NRC UK team as required. 

5. The Officer will be required to execute existing workplans and meet objectives and deadlines with oversight and support from Adviser and Director. 

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressive professional experience (preferably within the UK Third Sector) in business development, advocacy, fundraising and/or general administrative duties 
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Politics, Law, Communications, International Relations or a relevant field.  Equivalent experience will be accepted instead of qualifications. 
• Demonstrable experience in prospect research and ability to identify partnership opportunities based on criteria provided by NRC 
• Demonstrable interest in humanitarian issues, with clear understanding of ethical and principled humanitarian approaches. 
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal

• Keep our data in top shape – Take ownership of day-to-day CRM housekeeping, ensuring everything is accurate, up-to-date, and fully compliant.
• Connect the dots – Manage and maintain integrations between Donorfy and key platforms like Mailchimp, Stripe, and Eventbrite, making sure everything runs smoothly.
• Turn data into insight – Build dynamic lists, dashboards, and reports that empower the Fundraising Team to track performance and make informed decisions.
• Enable the team – Deliver training and ongoing support so colleagues can confidently use Donorfy for their day-to-day activities and campaigns.

• Knowledge and experience of managing fundraising data.
