We are looking for a temporary events officer for a passionate and collaborative disability charity. You will manage an agreed portfolio of fundraising events, taking place throughout the year. You will also provide high levels of supporter care.
This is hybrid role with 2 days a week in the London office and you will be needed until they recruit for the permanent role.
The Role
Lead on the delivery of a number of events from the agreed portfolio; both owned and third party events. Responsibilities to include researching an events feasibility, planning, marketing, recruiting participants, and evaluation. Providing high levels of supporter care and ensuring income and expenditure targets are met or exceeded for each event.
Where required, assist with developing business cases for new events, by following the established approval process, and evidencing your case with supporter-led insight, market research and financial and non-financial KPIs.
Work closely with colleagues in marketing, press and PR in producing and implementing a marketing and PR plan for all events within remit, including researching and developing publicity plans for individual events and contributing to the development of any printed materials, web content and social media.
Prepare and manage personal budgets, always looking for ways to increase income streams and decrease expenditure Manage relationships with internal,external suppliers, event providers and key stakeholders to ensure efficient event delivery and added value for participants.
Ensure that all challenge events are contracted, adhere to the law and that adequate health & safety measures are in place.
Supervise volunteers where necessary, both in the office and at events.
Work closely with colleagues on the development and implementation of a recruitment stewardship plan, including first contact, fulfilment, correspondence and administrative systems, to ensure maximum supporter satisfaction, income and retention.
Build long term relationships with supporters by creating a first class supporter experience, having regular contact through email, social media and telephone conversations.
Working with the Data team, implement communication plans for supporters to ensure that they are receiving the highest levels of support.
The Candidate
Experience of working within a fundraising, Supporter care, marketing or customer service environment
Experience in event organisation
Customer relationship management experience including database management
Experience of executing marketing and communications plans through traditional and new media
Experience of working with agencies and suppliers
Familiarity with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
Familiarity with social media channels (Facebook, twitter, Instagram)

About the Role
To lead on the Trust’s Policy and Communications work. To ensure our strategy and work in this area is led by the specific needs of people affected by MSA. This will require effective contact between the Trust and people affected by MSA, a range of health and care professionals; in order to develop their engagement in a professional and supportive way. To be an ambassador for change in wider society, working in the best interests of people affected by MSA. To develop and ensure effective external communications and dialogue with people affected by MSA and facilitate positive collaboration with other relevant agencies and policymakers. To promote the development of this element of work within the MSA Trust, which may include future line management responsibility as the work develops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the CEO, internal teams, Services Committee, and other colleagues to set and deliver an integrated Policy and External Communications strategy for the MSA Trust.
- Be responsible for the development and delivery of an operational plan with targets and be accountable for the budget in this area.
- Lead on policy and campaigning work, ensuring priorities reflect the views of people with MSA.
- Be responsible for the Trust’s external communications and messaging.
- Be responsible for ensuring that the development and output of our communications and policy work are inclusive and reflect the diversity of our MSA community.
- Play a key role in the development and effectiveness of national and local voluntary networks that support shared ambitions for the neurology sector.
- Play a key role in the production of MSA News – the Trust’s flagship publication for members.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure our services are compliant with relevant policies, procedures and relevant legislative frameworks.
- Create positive relationships with MSA Trust colleagues, Trustees, and external networks to share knowledge, insight and evidence.

The Candidate

Experience of achieving/exceeding targets in the not for profit or commercial sectors.
Experience in roles requiring a strong focus on customer or supporter engagement and satisfaction.

We are now looking for a Fundraising Data Insights Officer (FDIO) to join our Data Insights & Supporter Experience team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves turning data into insight and wants their work to make a meaningful difference for young people and communities across the country.
About the role
The FDIO will take the lead in developing the reports, dashboards and insight that directly support fundraising growth. Working closely with colleagues across the fundraising team, you’ll build accessible visualisations, monitor performance against key metrics, and support predictive analytics projects such as donor retention modelling and lifetime value forecasting.
You’ll also work hand-in-hand with our Database Manager to improve data quality, support data imports and ensure we are capturing information effectively across the organisation. An important part of the role will be helping non-technical colleagues understand and interpret data so they can make confident, insight-driven decisions.
About you
We’re looking for someone who has hands-on experience with CRM systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge or similar), strong reporting and visualisation skills, and the ability to work confidently with data importing and management processes. You’ll be analytical, curious, and a natural problem-solver with strong Excel skills and the ability to present data clearly to different audiences.
Experience of predictive analytics or advanced segmentation would be an advantage, but most importantly you’ll be someone who enjoys improving systems and has a proactive approach to data.
