The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Finance & Operations to take ownership of all internal operations that ensure the organisation’s effectiveness, accountability, compliance, and resilience. This is a people- and process-focused role for someone who thrives on structure and order while keeping equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility at the heart of how things are done.

You will be a champion of systems, a confident financial lead, and a culture-first manager who ensures our internal structures serve our people, values and mission. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Lead the financial function with strategic oversight, supported by an external accountant.
• Manage the annual audit process, acting as the lead contact for external auditors and ensuring timely preparation, accuracy, and compliance.
• Provide high-quality financial modelling, forecasts, and budget support to the wider team.
• Produce timely reports and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board.
• Support SLT with business modelling and income planning.
• Ensure financial processes are understood and used across the team.
• Oversee payroll, bookkeeping and liaison with accountants and auditors.

People and Culture

• Lead internal culture work, embedding equity, inclusion and belonging at every level.

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and staff support in line with our values and commitments.

Governance and Compliance

• Act as the main contact for the Board and subcommittees, particularly Audit & Risk.
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission, Companies House, GDPR and relevant legislation.
• Maintain governance documents and ensure timely updates and implementation.
• Embed an organisational approach to risk that is equitable, accessible and transparent.
• Act as the organisation’s Data Controller, ensuring appropriate policies and practices are in place to prioritise data safety and security. Work with external legal and data protection advisors to stay compliant with legislation and best practice.

Operations and Systems

• Be the internal champion of systems and processes, ensuring they are streamlined, understood and appropriately used by the team.
• Work with external experts and advisors to implement or refine systems as required.
• Oversee IT, digital infrastructure and tools for hybrid/remote working.
• Ensure all internal processes are designed with EDI and accessibility in mind.
• Lead continuous improvements that balance rigour with inclusion.

External Relationships

• Manage key suppliers and advisors (accountants, HR, IT, legal, payroll) to ensure value, clarity and accountability.
• Ensure external services align with our internal culture and mission.

Person Specification

This is an ideal role for someone who loves enabling people to do their best work by ensuring robust, fair, and future-ready structures are in place.

Essential

• Significant experience in operational and financial management.
• A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar) or significant financial experience.
• Strong experience leading on budgets, forecasts and financial strategy.
• Experience supporting teams with business and financial modelling.
• Proven ability to improve processes and internal systems.
• Experience or interest relating to overseeing governance, risk and compliance.

Hours and place of work

• This is a full-time role to be fulfilled over a 35-hour week, ideally within the working hours of Mon-Fri, 9:30am–5:30pm, with flexibility as required.
• This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
• Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.

Terms, pay and benefits

• This is a permanent contract.
• Salary for this role will be ca. £55,000 p/a depending on experience.
• The post holder is entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to UK statutory holidays.
• The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.
• You have the option to join our contributory pension scheme. The employer's contribution is 3% with a minimum employee contribution of 5%.

We’re looking for someone compassionate and experienced in understanding the criminal justice system and offender personality disorder, someone who brings empathy, tailored support and real dedication to help each resident thrive. The Giving Engagement Officer (Retention) will support the Giving Engagement Manager to implement multi-channel (mail, telemarketing, web and email) donor retention campaigns, ensuring timely delivery, creative accuracy, and effective stakeholder coordination.

You will be responsible for managing campaign schedules, supporting the creative and data processes, and ensuring delivery partners are aligned. Key Responsibilities

Campaign Delivery & Coordination

· Deliver cultivation and retention campaigns, setting up and developing schedules in Asana and coordinating all required stakeholders.

· Manage timelines to ensure all activity is delivered on time and to plan.

· Compile campaign costs and track expenditure against budgets, flagging issues as they arise.

Creative, Data & Fulfilment Management

• Develop campaign briefs for creative, data output, print and fulfilment for review by internal teams and suppliers.

You’ll also ensure our balance sheet is up to date, financial controls are robust, and all financial transactions are managed efficiently and with integrity.

The Operations Administrator will work closely with the broader Operations team to provide centralised communication and administrative support, and effective coordination across all aspects of the work of the Operations team.

As this role is central to the work of the Operations team, the person will need to be proactive, organised, and able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines. This year, we’ve embarked on a bold, strategic initiative to enhance our data capabilities.

We’re aiming to improve our data use, integration and analytics to increase engagement, maximise impact and drive forward our strategic goals. To achieve this ambition, we’ve developed a new technology infrastructure which we are calling “Sage”. We are implementing new technology infrastructure this year (such as our new CRM system and suite of data tools – Microsoft Dynamics).

Our Infrastructure Systems Manager plays a crucial role in the development, support and maintenance of these systems, implementing the tools and technology we need as well as driving the reduction of IT costs where possible.

This role is responsible for:

• Maintenance of technical infrastructure based on Microsoft technologies
• Automated process creation to ensure systems are monitored and managed
• Migration of remaining on premise systems to Microsoft cloud based solutions
• Maintenance of legacy systems and processes where necessary
• Ensuring systems are highly accessible and available
• Advice to the Organisation on best practice on technology

For this role we’re looking for:

• Broad expert technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure based on both cloud and on premise Microsoft technologies
• Knowledge of Dynamics CRM 365 and associated technology
• Knowledge of Azure services, PowerApps, DataVerse
• Knowledge of sound backup and security protocols
• SQL (SSIS, SSRS) knowledge
• Experience of managing external stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers
• Service Management experience

Job Information:

Oversee the success of our Networks and Groups for staff from hospices across the UK, ensuring they remain coordinated, consistent and informed by experts and evidence. 

Collaborate closely with subject matter experts across the charity, to help deliver plan and deliver these virtual groups, which involve multiple hospice staff and external stakeholders across different subject areas.

Deliver and grow our integral Big Conversations series, which brings the hospice sector together on the biggest issues of the day.

We’re looking for someone who takes a consistent project management approach to leading virtual networks and large online meetings/webinars. Building strong internal and external relationships will be vital.

You might be working in the charity sector already, or bring strong technical experience delivering virtual events or online membership networks from other sectors. You don’t need to have a background in healthcare.

You’ll join a close, 16-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK, made up of experienced clinicians, sector-leading project and event managers, and specialists in evidence and research. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities. 

At Hospice UK the job title for this role is Network Manager. In other organisations this role might be called Virtual Events Manager or Membership Events Manager.

Senior Operations and Governance Officer

Location: London
Duration: Initially temporary for 3-5 months, with a view to going Permanent for the right person.
Pay: £20.60 per hour plus £3.00 per hour holiday pay (equivalent to £37,500 FTE per annum)

About the Role

This is a pivotal role supporting the Chair, Trustees, and Senior Management Team to ensure effective governance and operational oversight. You'll coordinate Trustee meetings, maintain governance records, and support programme and project management across the organisation. Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate the annual cycle of Trustee and Committee meetings
• Prepare agendas, take accurate minutes, and ensure timely dissemination of papers
• Maintain governance documentation including the risk register and register of interests
• Develop and implement systems for tracking progress against strategic plans and KPIs
• Support project leads in planning, monitoring, and reporting on outcomes
• Assist in drafting the Annual Report and Accounts
• Ensure Trustee and other details are up to date and comply with the requirements of the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Maintain the Seal Book, ensuring that the Seal is used where required to execute documents and maintain relevant registers of interests, gifts and hospitality.
• Be responsible for maintaining and updating the Trustees Register of Interests.
• Be responsible for the general administration for the Trustees including processing Trustee expenses and managing the Secretary's inbox and being the first port of call for any queries.
• Support the Chair with the Trustee Annual review process.
• Support the Governance review processes and ensure actions are followed up and completed.
• Support project leads to plan, implement and monitor project progress and outcomes
• Support the Senior Management Team to develop an annual delivery plan and monitor progress against a set of key performance indicators.
• Support the Director of Operations to identify, assess and manage risks across the organisation.
• Lead on ad hoc organisational wide projects where required including the All Staff Conference, Trustee dinners and other events.

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with:

• Significant experience supporting Boards and Committees
• Strong minute-taking and action-tracking skills
• Experience in project coordination and performance monitoring
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Proficiency in Office 365 and CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
