Skills and experience
Efficient, effective and empathetic, the right candidate will have a strong analytical ability that they can convey both verbally and in writing. You will have excellent writing skills, and experience of drafting important documents to a high level. Providing specialist support to women and girls who have experienced rape and/or childhood sexual violence and abuse.



As an Employee Relations Specialist, you’ll be the escalation point from our People Operations team and will apply your specialist employee relations knowledge and expertise to provide professional and pragmatic employee relations advice on a range of employee relations (ER) issues, policies and processes.
You’ll pro-actively engage with managers to offer best practice advice on a range of ER case work, spotting and assessing the risks and advising managers on how to mitigate or find resolutions to those risks which are in the best interest for British Heart Foundation (BHF).
You’ll take ownership of your own case work from beginning to end and responsibility for the advisory solutions ensuring best practice timescales are adhered to. You will also ensure any risks or concerns are flagged.
About you
With a CIPD Level 5 minimum qualification, or equivalent, you'll have extensive HR knowledge and understanding around best practice. You'll also have an up-to-date ER and Employment law knowledge, and understand ACAS Code of Practise and be knowledgeable on the Equality Act.
You’ll have substantial experience managing complex casework, including dismissals and discrimination. You are able to weigh up complex evidence and reach sound conclusions that are fair and reasonable while protecting the business. You have the proven experience of navigating legal complexities and negotiating successful resolutions swiftly.
Ideally, you will have ER specialist experience confidently managing a high volume of cases in a large organisation. Additionally, experience of tribunal case preparation, restructuring, redundancy, and TUPE would be highly advantageous.

We own and manage around 1,600 affordable properties, spread amongst ~200 villages, and have a development programme of between 150 to 200 more homes over the next five years. About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our small but professional and friendly development team to continue the delivery of our high quality new build homes programme.
We design our homes to high-standards, incorporating local architectural features. Our ‘fabric first’ approach to design and construction, coupled with and our commitment to renewable energy technologies, aims to reduce environmental impact and running costs for our residents. We build small scale schemes of quality homes that are in keeping with the village. Our approach involves forming a community-led local partnership to research, enable and deliver affordable rural homes.
Working under the leadership of the Development Director and collaboratively with internal colleagues and external consultants and contractors. The role will be to fully coordinate from inception working with Rural Housing Enablers, site acquisition and planning through to completion with the day-to-day project management of rural exception site housing delivery (noting, we do deliver some through selective Section 106 planning schemes with housing developers). Our typical land lead sites are around eight to twelve affordable homes, and may incorporate some open market housing to provide some necessary cross subsidy funding.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in working and successfully delivering affordable housing development and preferably rural housing. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work both collaboratively but also be an independent self-starter. It takes a special person with professionalism, enthusiasm, initiative, tenacity and a great deal of pride in the end product to stay the course and deliver these small, often challenging yet ultimately rewarding community lead housing schemes. The right candidate will also ideally have some technical construction experience, either from formal qualification of direct housing delivery. Dravet Syndrome is a rare, life-long and life-limiting form of epilepsy that affects approximately one in every 15,000 people in the UK (around 2-4,000 people in total). It is a complex epilepsy syndrome so as well as severe, difficult-to-control seizures, people with Dravet Syndrome live with intellectual disability and a spectrum of associated difficulties including with speech and language, mobility, behaviours, eating and sleep. Founded in 2008 by a group of parents seeking support and information, DSUK has grown significantly over the past 17 years. Today, DSUK supports nearly 600 registered families across the UK and reaches over 2000 people in total, including parents and carers, siblings and bereaved families. As an organisation they deliver a range of impactful services aimed at improving the lives of beneficiaries through family support, professional education and medical research.
At a time of continued growth for the charity, and as medical advancements in the field continue (including clinical trials for the first gene therapies in rare epilepsy), DSUK are now looking to recruit a strategic, collaborative new CEO to help shape the next stage of their journey.

Reset is a bold new incubation designed to dramatically change the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in England today for the better.
Reset exists for children who are on, or at risk of being placed on Deprivation of Liberty orders due to the high risks they face from themselves or others, their complex and intersecting needs, and due to the lack of effective support available.
The children Reset will support are likely to be aged 12 to 18 and face complex challenges that often stem from the impact of traumatic childhood experiences, such as mental ill-health, self-harming, being sexually and/or criminally exploited and getting caught in harmful risk-taking behaviours including the use of harmful substances such as drugs and alcohol.
Reset is determined to ensure that, wherever possible, children are able to thrive back within their own families and/or communities.
