About the role
We are seeking an exceptional, creative and strategic fundraising leader to shape and deliver a new public fundraising and supporter engagement strategy, driving significant income growth across individual giving, legacies, community, events and trading.
As Associate Director, Public Fundraising, you will be a motivating leader for the talented Supporter Engagement team. You will work with your leadership group to build on our successful approach to mass fundraising, aligning with our new organisational strategy to drive long-term transformational growth.
We are seeking someone with a passion for audience-led fundraising, who will lead and empower the team of 46 to explore new opportunities, grow income and build sustainable relationships. Ultimately this will mean that our public fundraising programme will enable the charity to deliver its ambitious vision for the future, ensuring that every young person with cancer gets the support they need.

Battersea is entering an exciting phase of innovation and transformation as we embark on the first year of our new five-year strategy. Main purpose of the role:
This is a new role working within Battersea’s Income Generation department to develop and deliver the campaign plan for a £4-6million pound capital fundraising appeal.
One of the key pillars of Battersea’s current strategy is to ensure that we continue to provide expert care for all the dogs and cats that come through our gates. One of the ways in which we do this is by investing in our facilities to ensure that they continue to meet the changing needs of the animals we care for. This fundraising campaign will help to achieve that aim.
You will work with teams across Battersea to develop a comprehensive plan for the campaign and co-ordinate the work of multiple specialist teams to deliver the campaign on a day-to-day basis. You will also be responsible for developing a clear governance structure for the campaign, and ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of progress. You will also oversee and track progress of a series of internal process improvements that support the running of the campaign.

Purpose
This role leads the coordination of Kids’ online engagement and digital inclusion work for young people with SEND, including information provision, participation, and wellbeing support. You will deliver a two-year Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme, including identifying and engaging digitally excluded young people to help them access vital digital tools and services. The role also drives collaboration across the Digital Services Consortium (a collaboration of 12 children’s charities), embedding shared learning, outcome measurement, and inclusive digital practices across Kids, and will create new capacity to work with young people to scope and deploy online campaigning activity.
Responsibilities
- To lead and coordinate Kids’ online engagement and inclusion work for young people with SEND. This includes Kids’ online information provision; voice/ participation and wellbeing work.

- Free devices and data to improve access to those who need it most, plus the support to ensure everyone can participate.
We will reach over 1,800 young people over the two year funded period.

- To be the first point of contact for those requiring support, information and signposting with regards to VTE
- Answering enquiries across all channels (including those via the chat on our Facebook pages and “Let’s Talk Clots” app) in a supportive and timely manner
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with a range of stakeholders including patients, carers, and medical professionals
- Facilitating online meetings and focus groups between those with lived experience of VTE and selected research partners

- Contributing to the development/updating of TUK’s information materials, to reflect current guidelines and medical advances

- Providing support at TUK events, and wider initiatives such as National Thrombosis Week and World Thrombosis Day

About you

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).
VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.
