About this key role
Holding a caseload of up to 12 clients at any one time, our successful candidate will provide a client-led holistic support service that responds to individual’s needs, including supporting with housing, finances, benefits work and debt advice, parenting, health, ETE and criminal justice, and appearing in court.
We will rely on you to complete initial needs assessments with clients and to support them to develop individual support and risk management plans and regularly review them to assess progress. You will be expected to promote inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and to develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies, while ensuring you close cases efficiently and positively, identifying a referral route for young people that will identify agencies that can be used for ongoing support is also a key aspect of the role.

The Church of England is a partner in the Nature in Sacred Places (NiSP) National Lottery Heritage Fund project. This is a £5.2m project with an 18-month development phase followed by a four-year delivery phase (subject to securing further funding), in partnership with Natural England, the Church of England, Churches Conservation Trust and Caring for God's Acre. NiSP will build on principles established by the Bats in Churches Project, a project supported by the Heritage Fund. which worked with churches, community volunteers, young people and professionals across three main strands:
Broadening engagement
Reach a wide group of people, including religious groups and underserved communities, increasing diversity, inclusion and enjoyment of natural and cultural heritage through engagement events. We will champion the message that England's natural and built heritage in sacred places is for everyone, and work with communities to improve access in respect of multiple needs. The partnership will engage new audiences with local wildlife and greenspace.
Supporting practical action
Work with c.150 sacred places, primarily churchyards, (selected for heritage value, wildlife impact, community engagement and capacity) to develop biodiversity and cultural heritage. NiSP staff and partners will deliver workshops to communities to empower and upskill volunteers to maintain, enhance and develop biodiversity and protect the built heritage in their own sacred places into the future. We will produce guidance so communities have a reliable reference manual for long term use. Through these training sessions and reference materials, communities will be able to develop and deliver their own Conservation Management Plans independently. Small-scale funding (<£1000 per group) will be available for communities to undertake modest but effective heritage and habitat management, purchase engagement event resources, and improve access to the building and associated outdoor area.
Building professional capacity
NiSP will share knowledge, produce guidance, and run best practice activities to lead to better outcomes for both wildlife and buildings in renovation/restoration projects. We will work with pupils in Key Stages 1-4, study-leavers, and undergraduate training schemes, and will explore the creation of apprenticeship opportunities with established professionals and/or programmes. We will deliver seminars and webinars to professionals in both architecture and ecology, provide training from accredited experts and opportunities for participants to share knowledge and insight with each other.
The development phase will work with churches nationwide with a focus on four pilot areas - Birmingham, Hereford, Rotherham and Sheffield.
The Communications Officer will communicate the 18 month development phase of NiSP to churches, communities and dioceses promote the 18 month development phase of NiSP to a national audience through social, digital and print media, talks, activities and events.
You will share the stories and successes of NiSP and inspire people of all ages and abilities to get involved in local NiSP events and activities.
You will be employed by the Church of England but will work in a team of staff employed by project partner organisations, and managed by the Natural England Project Manager.

About the Organisation
This is a varied role in a friendly and supportive small national charity focussed specifically on the needs of children, young people and adults with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour challenges, and their families. There is no statutory funding and the organisation relies on voluntary income to fund its work. Income is sourced primarily from Trusts and Foundations to maintain independence. Role Purpose:
The Fundraising & Marketing team’s purpose is to advocate for and raise flexible and unrestricted funding to enable Womankind to deliver it’s 2030 organisational strategy.
The Fundraising and Marketing Officer supports the growth of Womankind’s fundraising income by delivering engaging, donor-focused fundraising and marketing activity across online and offline channels. Working closely with the Individual Giving Manager (IGM), the role develops and delivers fundraising appeals, email campaigns, newsletters, and fundraising-led social media content to strengthen donor retention and supporter engagement. The role leads on coordinating impactful storytelling for the fundraising team and supports high-value donor activity by using CRM insight to tailor communications in collaboration with the Philanthropy Manager.
Areas of responsibilities:
Individual Giving – Support the IGM to develop and deliver online and offline fundraising appeals and email/mail newsletter updates to maintain high donor retention levels amongst existing supporters and raise cash income. Work with IGM and Fundraising & Database Officer (FDO) to ensure our supporters receive excellent supporter care through planning and implementing donor journeys.
Storytelling – Co-ordinate the fundraising team’s approach to storytelling in line with Womankind’s funding charter by working closely with the Communications team and wider organisation to gather information, updates, video content & images that demonstrate Womankind’s and our partners work and impact on women’s lives. Work closely with the Communications Officer to plan and deliver compelling fundraising and marketing content across social media channels, identifying new opportunities and approaches to improve our online presence and respond to supporter queries.
High value donor fundraising – Working closely with the Philanthropy Manager – Corporate Partnerships, implement Womankind’s high value donor plan, using the CRM to identify high value donor trends, cultivate prospects, and tailor communications as required.
Key relationships and collaboration:
• Internally : Work closely with the FDO, IGM and the wider Fundraising, Communications, Feminist Grantmaking and Partnerships and Policy and Advocacy teams.
• Externally: External fundraising agencies/consultants and Womankind partners
Person Specification
Essential Experience:
• Experience of developing and implementing online and offline fundraising marketing campaigns, delivering them on time and on budget
• Excellent written communication skills with consistent attention to detail and experience of writing engaging, inspiring and persuasive copy for a range of media
• Experience of using Beacon or a similar fundraising CRM for marketing and collecting data, and for monitoring and analysing data to report against KPIs and inform future plans
• Proven experience using Mailchimp (or a similar email marketing platform) to plan, build, test, and deliver targeted fundraising campaigns and regular newsletter updates to segmented audiences
• Working knowledge and understanding of the importance of data capture, analysis and stewardship techniques
• Experience of fundraising from a UK individual giving audience

About The Skill Mill
The Skill Mill is a multi-award-winning social enterprise providing employment opportunities for young people aged 16–18 involved in the criminal justice system. We deliver environmental and community improvement projects that build skills, improve life chances, and reduce reoffending.
Young people aged 16-18 will be employed by The Skill Mill for 6-months, working in small cohorts of four, under the direct supervision of a dedicated Supervisor. During this period, the programme integrates practical skills training, offering short courses and on-the-job instruction in areas like environmental management, construction, and recycling, using tools such as trimmers and lawnmowers. The goal is for participants to achieve recognized qualifications like the CSCS card and an AQA Level 2 qualification, all while receiving comprehensive support, in collaboration with youth offending services.
Following the six-month employment phase, young people receive three months of dedicated support designed to facilitate their transition into new employment, training, or educational opportunities. This support includes individualised assistance with career development and job progression, practical aid such as creating action plans, crafting CVs, and practicing interview skills. Furthermore, The Skill Mill advocates for young people facing significant barriers to employment, ensuring they receive tailored guidance to secure their next steps.
Purpose of the Role:
To support young people aged 16+, particularly those involved with The Skill Mill programme, by delivering tailored, person-centered pathways into education, training, and long-term employment. The postholder will act as a trusted advisor, helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and transition successfully into sustainable opportunities with partner organisation and local employers.
Support for young people from the Pathway Advisor will begin in the 6-month employment phase, with liaison with the young person, Supervisors and Commercial Sales Manager, to begin to build relationships, understand aspirations and identify potential opportunities.
After the 6-month employment phase, key support will transition from the Supervisor to the Pathway Advisor role, with 3-months of person-led support offered to prepare for, enter, and sustain further employment, training, or educational opportunities. Support will be tailored to each young person’s needs and is likely to be a combination of remote/ in-person throughout the 9-months.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver intensive 1:1 employability and progression support to young people on The Skill Mill programme, focusing on post-placement career development, training and sustained employment outcomes.
Work in partnership with Youth Justice Services and employer networks to identify and promote routes into education, apprenticeships, employment and volunteering.
Co-produce personalised action plans with young people, based on individual strengths, goals and support needs, reviewing progress and adapting interventions as required.
Provide practical employability support including CV development, interview preparation, job search guidance, and workplace readiness.
Build trusted, motivational relationships with young people using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.
Act as a key link between young people and partner organisations, including employers, training providers, FE colleges and specialist support services.
Advocate for young people with complex or multiple barriers to ensure equitable access to opportunities and remove systemic obstacles.
Maintain accurate records, track progress, and contribute to outcome reporting for funders and commissioners.
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, recognising barriers such as discrimination, offending history, housing instability and mental health needs.
