About the role
You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.
You’ll support the development of a vibrant national network, working in collaboration with the Professional Engagement team and the regional clinical leads. You’ll also work with health and care professionals and Parkinson’s UK colleagues to respond to any threats to Parkinson's services and effect positive change.
This role is being advertised on a fixed term, 12 month contract.
What you’ll do

Facilitate health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s and drawing on the principles of co-production

Build relationships to influence service improvement across North East England and Yorkshire, and support the development of a vibrant national network

Maximise participation in the UK Parkinson's Audit and relevant surveys

Support health & care services to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the UK Parkinson's Audit as a lever

What you’ll bring

About the Role
As Recreation and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will manage the Youth Zone’s vibrant Rec Area and two wellbeing spaces: the Training Kitchen and Health and Wellbeing Room. You will create an energetic, fun, and inclusive environment where young people can thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the day-to-day management of the Rec (indoor and outdoor) and Wellbeing Spaces (Training Kitchen and Health Room), ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and well-utilised.
- Design and deliver a varied programme of inclusive activities that promote social development, healthy lifestyles, and confidence-building, with particular focus on engaging SEND and underrepresented young people.
- Line-manage and support staff and volunteers across all spaces, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and high-quality youth engagement.
- Manage and develop the Young Leaders programme, nurturing leadership skills across Junior and Senior groups.
- Ensure sessions are structured, relevant, and youth-led where possible, using feedback and local need to shape delivery.
- Oversee the safe use of equipment, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety and health standards.
- Collaborate with local partners to enhance opportunities for physical and mental wellbeing.
- Manage budgets for all areas, ensuring value for money and accurate financial record-keeping.

What we offer:
This is a fixed-term contract, initially for 3 years. The role is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.
You will receive a salary of £48,000 and benefits including a generous 10% contributory pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, 38 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata) and our new bespoke Employee Support and Wellbeing Programme.
Hybrid working is available, which means typically one day a week is in the office (Monday) with the rest of the week working remotely from home, within the community or with partner organisations. This role would likely involve regular working from County Hall (central Oxford) due to the direct link to Marmot Place work.

The charity is based in Oxfordshire with around 25 staff and a turnover of around £1.2 million annually.
Community-owned businesses are owned and controlled by community members and range from village shops, pubs and cafes, through to woodlands, fisheries and farms. The charity has been promoting the community ownership model for over 100 years because of its track record for delivering better businesses for people, communities, the economy, and the environment.
The charity is in a sound financial position with strong reserves. The focus moving forward is to diversify income streams away from the traditional model of grants, trusts and foundations to increased self-generated income from projects, corporate sponsorship and placemaking initiatives with housing organisations.
The new Head of Finance will be joining the organisation at an exciting time as they progress on this journey.
About the role
Reporting to the COO and managing 1 Finance Officer, The Head of Finance is the lead staff member for all matters relating to the Finance Team and is responsible for all areas of its strategic management and day-to-day operations. The Head of Finance makes up part of the Senior Leadership Team.
Typical finance duties include the development and implementation of finance strategies and policies, the production of financial reports and management accounts, leading on the budgeting & forecasting process, leading on the production of the annual statutory accounts, and supporting the Finance Officer with all elements of transactional finance such as reconciliations & VAT.
The Head of Finance will also take an active role on the Senior Leadership Team including contributing to business plans, networking with partner organisations and contributing to the continued strategy to diversify the charity’s income.
The charity uses Xero accounting software and has a December financial year-end. There is a current interim Head of Finance in post, and a handover with this person is likely.
The role would suit an experienced charity sector Head of Finance, seeking to work on a part-time basis. The role will be offered on a 3 day per week basis, and is a fully office based role, in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. In exceptional circumstances it may be possible to consider 2 days in the office with 1 day working from home, however the preference is for 3 days onsite.
The salary offered is £60,000 - £66,000 per annum FTE (pro-rata) and benefits include flexible working, an employee benefits programme, training opportunities, 6% employer pension contribution and a generous holiday entitlement of 27 days plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time staff).
Requirements
• Qualified or near qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent
• A strong understanding of UK charity accounting including fund accounting and SORP
• Prior experience managing the finances of a small to medium sized charity, and management of a finance team
• A proactive attitude and the ability to ‘muck in’ with a broad range of duties sometimes outside the scope of the role
• Excellent analytical skills, ability to identify financial trends and create a supportive narrative
• Experience with Xero and Salesforce would be advantageous

Key responsibilities:
* Assist with the administration and stewardship of supporters across the various income areas and maintain and improve supporter retention and engagement. Areas to support with will include: Community Fundraising, Trading, Challenge Events, Lottery, Legacies and Major Donors.
* Provide an exemplary stewardship programme for existing supporters whilst also developing new ideas to engage new supporters.

Job Description
The Head of Finance Business Partnering will:
- Lead financial planning and the production of the Force's Medium-Term Resource Strategy and Capital Programme Plan, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Planning Cycle.
- Work closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Head of Finance, and Head of Management Accounting to ensure departmental strategies align with the Force's financial objectives.

- Ensure the Finance Business Partner (FBP) model is embedded in decision-making, driving the Centre of Excellence (COE) framework across projects, policies, capital, and Oracle systems.
- Collaborate with the CFO during the financial forecasting and strategic planning cycle to incorporate decisions into financial strategies.
- Contribute to the financial sections of the Force Management Statement, ensuring alignment with workforce planning and other Force areas.
- Provide strategic financial support for HMIC inspections and ensure issues are addressed.
- Implement a performance framework for the finance team, reviewing KPIs, addressing discrepancies, and promoting continuous improvement.
- Lead strategic finance initiatives on major projects, ensuring alignment with the Force's broader objectives.
- Guide Finance Business Partners to meet Force requirements, build team capacity through training, performance management, and development, and ensure consistency in financial analysis.
- Improve financial literacy across the Force, supporting strategies for efficiency, cost consciousness, and resource optimisation.
- Lead the development and maintenance of financial management systems, with expertise in the Oracle EPM system.

The Successful Applicant
The successful Head of Finance Business Partnering will be/have:
- Qualified Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (C.C.A.B.) or CIMA accountant.
- Recent experience of working within a finance business partnering model or the ability to demonstrate an awareness of what is required to deliver the outcomes of the model.
- Understand personal and professional strengths and development needs and be able to evidence the steps taken to enhance your continuing professional development.
- Ability to interpret complex or detailed legislation, policy or strategy documents to identify financial implications and provide insightful financial advice.
- Strong commercial acumen with the desire to help drive business performance and show the wider business how finance can add value on a day-to-day basis.
