The overall purpose of this post is to support the Head of Events in delivering the Business strategy, taking the lead on management of the Training course programme from inception to completion. The position will work closely with the Training Course Committee to secure a pipeline of new courses alongside successful delivery of existing and repeat courses ensuring that financial targets are achieved.

In 2021, the Geological Society embarked on a journey by introducing its highly anticipated training courses, following a successful trial in 2020. Since then, these courses have become a cornerstone of knowledge dissemination within the geological community, covering a spectrum of topics.
Throughout 2023, the Geological Society experienced a surge in participation, with over 800 enthusiastic delegates joining the courses across the year. This widespread interest reflects the industry's recognition of the invaluable insights and skills that can be gained from these comprehensive training programs taught by industry and academic experts in the field.
Training courses have become a beacon of excellence within the geological community. Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- To develop effective working relationships with society stakeholders, events team, Training Course Committee, Professional Committee, Chartership Officer and wider teams at the society including Publishing House to maximise opportunities for courses.
- To lead on Training Course Committee meetings creating agenda’s and keeping members regularly apprised.
- To report on key areas in the Professional Committee meeting.
- To successfully meet annual sales target for Training courses providing regular feedback on performance to Head of Events and Training Course Committee.
- To work closely with our Marketing Team to prepare detailed marketing plans and high-quality designed materials for promoting courses to delegates.

JOB SUMMARY
- Defines and leads the Charity’s strategies for income development and growth, through a mix of traditional fundraising and marketing, as well as new initiatives;

Provides leadership for all fundraising, income development and marketing activity within the Charity by:
Staffing:
- Providing leadership and direct line management support to Assistant Directors and Seniors within the Income Growth & Development team
- Leading and developing a team of experienced fundraisers and the marketing lead, to sustain, develop and grow a range of fundraising, marketing and other initiatives to maximise income from new and existing sources.
Planning and Management
- Implementing and executing the annual Fundraising, Business Development and Marketing Plans to meet targets. Prepare and presents regular reports on progress towards income generation goals, to CEO, then Board of Trustees.
- Monitoring income and managing departmental budgets. Analyses of all fundraising activities, events, including a robust patronage programme as well as funding campaigns, for excellent return on investment,
- To embed a culture for learning, that celebrate successes, encourages feedback and identifies areas for improvement.
Brand and Marketing
- Expanding and diversifying supporter reach and engagement to further enhance the return and reputation of the charity nationally, creating strong ‘brand awareness’ of all areas of our work.
- Overseeing the creation and management of Grief Encounter’s messaging and branding across all platforms. Ensures consistency and clarity across print, digital, social media content and all public relations.
- Conducting extensive research to develop new marketing opportunities and overseeing evaluation of existing processes.
Fundraising Management and Income Generation
- Ensuring income projections are accurate and timely, embracing a culture of performance and ambition.
- Embedding processes to support swift identification of opportunities, as well as timely mobilisation of progress with identified plans.
- On-going review and identification of new Grants and Trust opportunities of significant interest to the Charity. Ensures robust and timely applications, including ones for creative growth and development opportunities, are submitted by team and that outcomes/learning is shared for future improvements.
- Developing and leading on other strategic plans and initiatives with support from SMT and colleagues, to create other new revenue generation opportunities for the charity.
Events and Campaigns
- Planning and overseeing the execution of flagship events (e.g. Gala Dinner) with the Head of Fundraising (Special Events) and ensures support from other colleagues across the Charity.
- Building cross-departmental staff involvement in all fundraising events and income generating initiatives. Working closely with SMT colleagues to regularly update initiatives and share developments, both within Grief Encounter and more widely in the sector.
- Exhibiting a high level of visibility by attending a range of income generating events and functions throughout the year.
Digital Fundraising and Engagement
- Development and drive appropriate digital marketing campaigns across a range of social media platforms to engage supporters and increase donations.
Relationship Management
- Nurturing existing relationships and long standing supported to ensure stability for regular giving is well maintained.
- Networking and maintaining regular contact with an expanding portfolio of philanthropists, and major gift donors and prospects to build strong relationships, negotiate a wide range of on-going opportunities for support as well as partnerships.
- Managing relationships with external agencies to maximise return on investment.
- Supervising and providing advice for other relationship management within the team.

Qualifications
- Degree level education/equivalent.

My Health Matters is commissioned by London Borough of Havering (Public Health) and aims to inform, support and signpost residents to relevant local resources and empower them to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The role requires organising Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) Health Champion Training for people living and/or working in Havering and other health related training. You will be responsible for researching and organising events and relevant health literature to promote the project, engaging and building relationships with local stakeholders, supporting national Public Health campaigns. You will also be responsible for securing retention of trained volunteers using regular and effective communication. The role includes promoting the service at meetings and outreach events and organising focus groups with Health Champions. Undertaking administration to record any data collected from events, training and Focus Groups for monitoring purposes will be required. Successful applicants will have relevant knowledge in health awareness issues in a paid or voluntary capacity. The Role
As a Casual Learning Officer, you will support the delivery of our outdoor learning programmes.
Working alongside our inspiring Learning Team, you’ll plan and deliver school sessions and other activities to visitors of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, providing inclusive, fun and high-quality experiences across nature, heritage and wellbeing. You’ll have the opportunity to build varied experience in a range of informal settings, such as drop-in events, festivals and out in the parks’ beautiful habitats.
You may also be offered opportunities to undertake a range of administrative and customer support duties, including responding to enquiries from the public, uploading event information online and processing booking transfer and cancellation requests.

Be Kind to Your Mind (BK2YM) is a non-clinical, mental health and wellbeing offer delivered by HFEH MIND Youth Services. BK2YM’s non-clinical interventions and psychoeducation programme (Learn Well) offers a multitiered level of support:
- Preventative and early intervention for children and young people aged 5 – 25 through HFEH Mind Psychoeducation Workshops and assemblies.
- Training for school staff and other professionals.
- Therapeutic Arts intervention (x6 sessions) for students.
- Access to a digital support tool (self-help): WYSA.
- Access to wider digital/online support tolls (Including My Mind TV).

The role
Our Graduate Internship Programme provides opportunities for recent graduates to participate in all aspects of the Commonwealth Foundation and gain experience, strengthen their knowledge and develop their skills.
We maintain a team of interns who are recruited together for a six-month period, which may be extended to a maximum of 12 months depending on performance and the needs of the Foundation. What we offer

We are currently operating a flexible working policy which requires all staff to work from our central London office at least five days per fortnight including every Wednesday. Applicants must be able to affirm their capacity and willingness to work within our policy.
