Summary
We have an opportunity for a Marketing Specialist Apprentice to support the Central Quadrant of Harris secondary academies, helping to identify, attract and engage our communities.
Working with the Assistant Director and Principals from the Quadrant, you will have the opportunity to support with our Academy marketing strategies, including social media channels, newsletters, events and create graphic designs, images and videos for both organic and paid campaigns. You will also work with the Federation Talent Attraction Partner.
This is an apprentice role with a fixed-term duration of 18 months. Your learning will be supported by the completion of the Multi-Channel Marketer Level 3 apprenticeship programme.
The Central Quadrant academies are based in Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Croydon and Bromley and the successful candidate will be part of the academy team. We can be flexible on your base academy within the Central Quadrant.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, primarily focussing on student and staff recruitment and improving brand awareness
- Designing and generating mixed media content for use on academy websites and relevant social media to increase brand awareness and drive engagement
- Managing day-to-day social media posting and platforms
- Helping to develop compelling campaigns that resonate with our target audiences
- Ensuring brand consistency across all communications and external media
- Writing, editing, proofreading and publishing press releases and academy newsletters
- Monitoring and adjusting campaigns to meet budget and performance objectives
- Using data analysis tools to record, interpret, and analyse campaign performance, and creating and delivering actionable reports driven by these insights
- Conducting ongoing research into audiences, preferences and trends
- Researching and generating ideas to maximise audience engagement

Purpose
Our Immigration Team works closely with Birmingham City University (BCU) to run the Immigration Law Student Clinic, a key source of free accredited immigration advice for people in Birmingham who cannot afford legal support.
The role involves supervising students as they research and prepare legal advice, coordinating day‑to‑day clinic activity, and supporting casework within CELC’s immigration team. You will recruit, train, and mentor students, ensuring they have an excellent student experience and helping them develop practical legal skills while ensuring clients receive an excellent service.
Responsibilities
Working closely with Birmingham City University the Law Clinic Supervisor will:
- Recruit and select students for involvement in the clinic
- Undertaking inductions with new students, in line with the Law Centre's Clinic practices ,including training on CELC systems and processes
- Develop and maintain student training manuals, policies, template letters, referral forms etc.
- Assess client cases prior to allocation to students
- Manage overall clinic calendar, allocating client cases to students

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in three of our schools in Birmingham and The Black Country. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors and coaches, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of our programmes is optimised. The role is based in Moseley School, Wood Green Academy and Ormiston Forge Academy.As this job is based in three schools Monday to Thursday each week and regular travel is required, a full UK driver's license is advantageous. About the role
The Network Engagement Officer supports The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code (or The Code, as we often call it) community. The Code community is a network of 400+ organisations committed to inspiring more young people into engineering and technology careers through STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) outreach.
The Code brings together organisations of all types and sizes to share ideas, learn from each other, and collaborate to collectively improve the impact of our STEM outreach. We do this by providing them with practical resources, events, regular communications and a supportive LinkedIn group.
The Network Engagement Officer works with the Senior Code Manager to grow, engage and support Code community members (we call them Signatories). The Network Engagement Officer is responsible for growing the community through recruiting and onboarding new members and ensuring high levels of engagement across the diversity of the community through writing and scheduling regular communications to them via email and LinkedIn and delivering an engaging content series to help them collectively improve their outreach, as well as tracking their participation across activity.
The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and will involve frequent / may involve some travel in the UK (amend as required).We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 40% in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. Barnardo's is seeking an empathetic and child led individual who can work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment using their strong organisation, communication and time management skills to support children in the secure estate.
This position (Children's Rights and Advocacy Worker – Project Worker 2) is based within Wetherby YOI, York Road, Wetherby LS22 5ED, which accommodates children aged between 15-18 years, who are in custody either sentenced or on remand. Barnardo's refers to Young Offender Institutions (YOI's) and Secure Training Centres (STC's) as the Secure Estate (please note, the location of some secure establishments may mean they are not easily accessed by public transport).
Barnardo's is commissioned by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to provide an Independent Children's Rights and Advocacy (ICRAS) Service to children accommodated in a secure setting. The service is known to children as Barnardo's: Your Rights, Your Voice, and currently works within five Young Offender Institutes, and one Secure Training Centre. The ICRAS service is child led and independent of the secure estate; our service is delivered within Feltham YOI to ensure children can freely access support for a range of issues linked to their needs, rights & experiences of custody, resettlement, and safeguarding. As such this is a child-facing service, and at times involves lone working in the establishments, so we are seeking someone who can see the child, not the offence.
We hold ‘voice' at the heart of all we do, therefore we feel the role is best described by someone who is currently working in this service: “The role is a Children's Rights and Advocacy role, which means it is our job to empower the children we work with and help them to understand that what they think, what they feel and what they want really matters. We can speak on behalf of children to ensure their voice is heard and we also have the opportunity to help them to find the tools and confidence to raise their voices for themselves. Advocacy and Children's Rights support is particularly crucial in the secure estate because children are away from home, family and champions, and also because children in secure estate are some of the most vulnerable children in society; they have often faced considerable adversity, disadvantage and discrimination prior to arriving into custody and they might not therefore be equipped with the skills needed to articulate their concerns. Through the work you do with a child from simply helping them make contact with friends or family on the outside, to helping them with concerns they may have for example; discrimination, resettlement or safeguarding. You may be the one person telling them they matter for the very first time.”
The position (Children's Rights and Advocacy Worker – Project Worker 2) is line managed by a Team Manager, reporting to an off-site senior manager. The post holder will need to be able to work autonomously, working to the requirements of the contract and the regime of the YOI. The secure estate is a highly structured environment; as a Barnardo's service we deliver independent advocacy and support for a range of issues, whilst still having to follow and adhere to this structure.
This role includes lone working in this challenging prison environment. It is therefore critical that the successful candidate in this respect is able to follow guidance and policy and is able to take a proactive and individual responsibility to understand and access the support mechanisms in place and encouraged by the service as required.

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity and works with thousands of schools and young people across the UK through its programmes. This role is critical to the delivery of our mission and will support the Volunteering Programmes Manager to meet the needs of our community of 350+ volunteers so that we can reach even more LGBT+ young people across the UK. The role will be working across the Programmes Team, working on the Ambassador Programme and supporting the School Talks programme weekly. Job Description
This role reports directly to the Volunteering Programmes Manager.
Programme delivery
● Support the Programmes Team to deliver our programmes
● Good regular communication and reporting to the Volunteering Programmes Manager
● Manage the administration of our Ambassador and School Talk programmes. Including the recruitment, training, opportunities and engagement of volunteers
● Deliver Ambassador volunteer training on the weekend, in-person at different locations across the UK and online
● Act as a first point of contact for ambassadors on our programmes, answering questions, sharing new resources and encouraging participation. This includes supporting ambassadors with their direct questions, managing the group chats on a daily basis and inboxes

BACKGROUND
The Alan Turing Institute launched its first Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy in September 2021. This strategy provides a framework and action plan to direct the Turing’s work in the area of EDI and follows on the progress made by our EDI Working Groups.
We are seeking a Widening Access and Outreach Manager. The role holder will join the Culture and Learning Team within the People Directorate and will report into the EDI Strategic Lead. The role will involve working closely with our Defence and Security programme and partners.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The Widening Access and Outreach Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering a widening participation careers project within defence and security. The project targets activities for children, young people and undergraduates including summer schools, internships and school and university presentations. The project aims to increase awareness, understanding and connection to defence and security data science careers from groups previously underrepresented in these roles. The project will involve working closely with the Turing’s Defence and Security Partners and other organisations to deliver a range of activities aimed at increasing the diversity of those taking up data science careers in the defence and security field. This role will have line management responsibilities as well as supervise the facilitators working on the project.
DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Manage the delivery of the Defence and Security Data Science Careers projects. This includes summer schools and career talks in locations across the UK and an undergraduate careers programme.
- Prioritizing safeguarding and health and safety at all stages of development and delivery.
- Scope and shape additional opportunities for engagement aligning work strategically to the goals of The Institute.
- Manage multiple stakeholders, including the Turing’s Defence and Security Partners and youth delivery partner(s) to ensure stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, pastoral and safeguarding support of participants. This will include under 18s and undergraduates.
- Drive curriculum development incorporating Human-Centred Design (UCD/HCD) to ensure programs are relevant, engaging, and audience appropriate.
- Lead the end-to-end curriculum design and content creation process, including quality assurance and iterative review. This involves collaboratively engaging internal peer experts (e.g., from Defence and Security) and managing project volunteers to translate complex scientific research into vibrant, age-appropriate project topics and educational materials for school-age learners.
- Lead the development and execution of an audience-informed project communications strategy. This includes direct collaboration with the Communications team to create and deploy effective advertising and engagement materials.
Due to the nature of this role, key delivery periods take place during school holidays (including the summer period). During these times, some unsocial hours may be required and annual leave may be restricted. Time off in lieu will be provided in line with company policy. PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Qualification or equivalent experience in project management and delivery
- Degree or qualification related to working with young people, e.g. PGCE, Youth Work, Social Work
- Experience of delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This full-time post is offered on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2027. The annual salary is £54,612-£58,000 plus excellent benefits, including flexible working and family friendly policies.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be required to hold British citizenship and be willing to undergo security/background checks in line with the Partner’s requirements.
The Alan Turing Institute is based at the British Library, in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter. We expect staff to come to our office at least 4 days per month. Some roles may require more days in the office; the hiring manager will be able to confirm this during the interview.
