A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
 

You can expect us to

What we need from you

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

As a Community Outreach Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping people in Havering know where to turn when they need urgent mental health support. You’ll be out and about in the community spreading the word about the Havering Crisis Café — chatting to local people, connecting with community centres, faith groups and local organisations, and sharing information through leaflets and posters. This is a great role for someone confident, friendly and passionate about making support more visible and accessible in the community.

What you will be doing

• Promoting the Havering Crisis Café within the local community
• Visiting community centres, libraries, GP surgeries, faith settings and other local spaces
• Handing out leaflets and displaying posters
• Helping build positive relationships with local organisations and community groups
• Feeding back any insights, questions or community needs to the team

As our Volunteer Employability Programme Development Manager, you will:

1. Design and develop our full employability programme from concept to launch.

3. Build modules covering CV writing, interview skills, job search strategies, workplace confidence, digital skills and more.
4. Work closely with our Careers Coaches, Mentors and Leadership Team to ensure the programme is holistic and impactful.
5. Develop clear processes, delivery plans and evaluation methods.
6. Ensure the programme is ready to launch as soon as possible.
7. Bring creativity, structure and passion to a programme that will transform lives.

Do you love little ones and understand the importance of supporting new Mums through this significant life change? Are you looking for a new opportunity to contribute your time in a supportive and friendly organisation?

We are looking for kind, empathetic and committed women to join a team of volunteers at our Friday mum’s programme. Each Friday between 20 and 30 mums’ gather to share experiences, dance with their babies and drink great coffee. Due to the nature of the project, we can only accept applications from women and each successful applicant will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Time Commitment:

At least twice a month on a Friday.

There are two time slots available per Friday session.

• 9.15am - 2.15pm

• 12.30pm – 4.30pm

We are looking to build a team of warm, reliable and compassionate volunteers to support our Friday Mums project, which provides a welcoming space for mothers and babies during the first year of motherhood at The Bridge. At each Friday session, we are looking to have two volunteers to give their time alongside a session lead from our staff team.

 Due to the nature of the project, we are only accepting volunteer applications from women. All volunteers will need two references and we complete a Enhanced DBS check.

About Friday Mums at The Bridge 

Friday Mums is a free weekly group for new mums (and pregnant women) to connect, feel supported and spend time with others who understand this stage of life. Unlike many baby groups, Friday Mums is designed to support mums as people, not just parents. 

The Bridge is a women’s health and wellbeing charity based in Southwark working to create inclusive and welcoming spaces for women of all identities to connect and thrive for over 90 years. We believe in a fairer society where women’s voices are heard and their health and wellbeing are valued and respected. Through our women-only gym, community café, wellbeing programmes and support groups, we help women care for themselves, support one another and challenge injustices together. 

Desired volunteer skills

• Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and respectfully with mums from diverse backgrounds.

Typical responsibilities 

• Help set up and manage a safe, welcoming, baby-friendly environment for weekly Friday Mums sessions.

• Provide informal support and conversation to mothers, listening and encouraging participation in wellbeing activities.

• Engage positively and appropriately with babies to enable mothers to take part in discussions and activities.

• Support the delivery of group sessions through practical assistance and general organisation.

• Help café team with making coffees and teas for the mums when they arrive to the café space.

• Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the Friday Mums project.

Norfolk Tennis is the county governing body for tennis and padel in Norfolk and a volunteer-led Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity No. 1203480). We work in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association to support clubs, venues, coaches and players across the county, helping more people enjoy the physical, social and community benefits of tennis and padel. Our work aligns with the LTA’s “Tennis Opened Up” strategy, which aims to make the sport accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. Norfolk Tennis is governed by a Board of Trustees supported by a volunteer Management Committee representing clubs, venues and key development areas across the county. As tennis and padel continue to grow, Norfolk Tennis is seeking individuals to join its Board of Trustees and contribute strategic leadership to the development of tennis and padel across the county.

About the Trustee Role
Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Norfolk Tennis is well governed, financially sustainable and strategically focused. Working collaboratively with fellow Trustees and the Management Committee, Trustees help ensure the organisation operates effectively as a charity while delivering meaningful impact for tennis and padel across the county.

Trustees are responsible for:

• Supporting the strategic direction of Norfolk Tennis
• Ensuring strong governance, accountability and compliance
• Providing independent professional expertise and oversight
• Acting in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries
• Helping ensure resources are used effectively to support tennis development

Trustees attend periodic Trustee meetings (typically online) and may attend Management Committee meetings where helpful to maintain alignment between governance and operational delivery.

We are particularly interested in individuals who can contribute leadership or professional expertise in the following areas.

Governance & Charity Law Trustee
To support strong governance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Norfolk Tennis is seeking a volunteer trustee with expertise in charity law.

This role focuses on providing guidance on legal responsibilities, governance best practice and risk management to support the organisation’s long-term stability and integrity.

Key contributions include:
• Advising the Board of Trustees on charity law, governance and regulatory requirements
• Supporting compliance with Charity Commission guidance and best practice
• Reviewing governing documents and supporting any required updates
• Providing input on policies, risk management and decision-making processes
• Ensuring the organisation operates within its legal and charitable objectives
• Offering guidance on contracts, partnerships and potential liabilities

This role would suit someone with experience in charity law, governance, legal advisory or regulatory compliance, ideally with an understanding of the charitable or sports sector.

Inclusion & Disability Trustee
Norfolk Tennis is committed to ensuring tennis and padel are open and accessible to all communities.

The Inclusion & Disability Trustee helps champion equality, diversity and accessibility across the county, supporting initiatives that widen participation and remove barriers to involvement.

The role includes:

• Supporting Norfolk Tennis in embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles
• Championing inclusive participation for disabled players and under-represented groups
• Advising on inclusive programme development and community engagement
• Supporting initiatives linked to the LTA’s Open Court disability tennis programme
• Helping identify partnerships with organisations supporting inclusive sport

This role would suit someone with experience in EDI leadership, disability sport, community engagement, education or inclusion policy.

Who We Are Looking For
We welcome applicants who bring professional expertise, leadership experience and an interest in supporting community sport.

Experience in tennis is not essential.

We particularly welcome individuals with backgrounds in:

• finance, accounting or investment
• governance, compliance or safeguarding
• equality, diversity and inclusion
• disability sport or community engagement
• commercial partnerships or business development

Most importantly, we are looking for people who bring sound judgement, integrity, collaborative working and a commitment to supporting tennis across Norfolk.

Time Commitment
The role is designed to fit alongside professional and personal commitments.

Typical involvement includes:

• periodic Trustee meetings (normally online/Zoom)
• monthly (or every 5-6 weeks) Management Committee meetings (normally online/Zoom)
• periodic engagement on strategic matters within your area of expertise

SV 2 has been supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse since 1994, and today provides a range of services to anyone in Derbyshire and Derby City who has experienced sexual abuse, assault or violence, including their friends and family members. We support people irrespective of age, gender or when the abuse occurred.

We are looking to recruit a team of events volunteers to help raise awareness of SV2 services at external events, celebrations and various festivals across Derbyshire.

Requirements: You must be over the age of 18 along with having great communication and interpersonal skills. You must be flexible and willing to volunteer at various locations including outside events on a rota basis with the expectation of approximately 1-2 events per month (travel expenses will be covered).

You must be enthusiastic about raising awareness of sexual abuse. You will also need access to a car with business insurance which can be used to transport marketing material such as banners and leaflets to events for this role.

Responsibilities: You will be working with a small team of volunteers to provide a visible presence in order to promote SV2 services and raise aware of sexual abuse at various events within the county. At the start and end of the event you will be expected to set up and pack away SV2 promotion materials and banners.

You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of people. You will need to be non-judgemental and stay calm in sometimes challenging situations.

A growing women’s empowerment social enterprise in Uganda is seeking a volunteer accountant to strengthen budgeting, cashflow forecasting and financial systems.

The organisation supports over 300 women artisans, including single mothers, widows and teenage mothers, through vocational training and income generating opportunities linked to handmade crafts.

As international sales opportunities grow, the organisation wants to ensure its finance processes remain practical, sustainable and fit for purpose.

The volunteer will work with the Founder and Managing Director to review internal processes and controls, support effective use of Zoho Books, review the chart of accounts, improve budgeting and cashflow forecasting, develop simple management reporting tools and support audit preparation.

This would suit a hands on volunteer comfortable working closely with a small local team.
