We are the Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR),  the largest global network of civil society organisations working to strengthen the resilience of people most at risk from disasters and climate change. With two trustees nearing the end of their terms, we are now recruiting two new trustees to join our Board at an exciting moment as we prepare to launch our 2026–2030 global strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and support effective governance

• Support and challenge the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team

What we’re looking for

We are looking for individuals who can bring strategic insight, sound judgement, and a commitment to equity and localisation. While all trustees share collective responsibility for GNDR’s governance, we are specifically seeking two candidates with the following professional expertise to strengthen the Board’s capacity in these areas:

• Professional expertise in Finance (e.g., financial management, audit, budgeting, risk)
• Professional expertise in Human Resources (e.g., people & culture, organisational development, HR policy)

All trustees are expected to uphold the following core criteria:

• Commitment to GNDR’s mission, values, and global network
• Strategic thinking, independent judgement, and collaborative working
• Strong communication skills and willingness to contribute actively
• Understanding of (or willingness to learn about) the responsibilities of charity trusteeship

Representation and eligibility

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who bring:

Trustees must be eligible under UK charity law to serve as charity trustees and company directors.

Terms of office

• Voluntary, unpaid role with all reasonable expenses reimbursed
• Three‑year term, renewable by Board agreement
• Approx. six days per year, plus preparation time, including quarterly board meetings, global board meetings, training, and occasional events
• Trustee indemnity insurance provided

FamilyLine operates as Family Action’s Helpline, open Monday – Friday, to anyone 18+ experiencing challenges related to family life. Volunteer shifts are currently available from 9am – 5pm.  

Volunteers use a digital system to volunteer from their own home, offering listening & emotional support, suggestions, guidance & signposting via telephone, webchat and text messages.

Volunteers are trained to support using an empathetic, people-focused approach to ensure everyone who accesses the service feels included and receives the support they need. 

Volunteers are also able to make referrals to other services, such as FamilyLine’s Counselling & Befriending service, or the Family Action grants programme.

No Panic is a national self-help charity, which supports people with a range of anxiety problems. We provide the No Panic Helpline and there is additional support services offered to members.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Content Team.

Volunteering as a Content Team Editor, involves:

· Sourcing articles about anxiety from Content Team contributors and from outside No Panic.

· Updating our blog up to once a week, by editing and publishing new content.

· Sharing content published on our blog to social media platforms.

It may also involve supporting Content Team Academics and Content Team Contributors to improve their articles.

Communication is through No Panic accounts, rather than your personal account. On some platforms you may need to use your account to access No Panic’s profile.

No Panic has hundreds of members, and dozens of volunteers. We aim to create a sense of community among our members and volunteers.

The Community Engagement Team Co-ordinator volunteer will be responsible for running activities that will bring this about.

These include holding social events on Zoom and maintaining WhatsApp groups.

The engagement team can use their imagination and interests – events/groups could be anything from book groups to craft sessions. The co-ordinator organises and maintains the activities and can participate in them if desired.

World Horse Welfare’s volunteers help our work in many different ways, from lending a hand at one of our farms to joining our Council of Trustees. This elected group of professionals is responsible for the overall governance and strategy of our charity and, to do this effectively, our Council includes people with diverse areas of expertise, interests and backgrounds. In return for their time and knowledge, Trustees enjoy the opportunity to use and build their skills, attend a range of special events, become part of an outstanding network, and influence the direction of our charity. 

We currently have two vacancies – for a practicing equine veterinary surgeon and for someone with significant experience in one or more of the following areas: fundraising, cybersecurity and data management (where equine experience would be a bonus, but you only need an empathy with our aims and an interest in helping to guide our work). We take pride in our values of being realistic in our approach, compassionate in our attitudes, and forward-thinking in anticipating challenge. The successful person will be expected to share these values.

About Lucas Helps Dogs
Lucas Helps Dogs is a volunteer run  charity working in Sri Lanka to reduce the suffering of street and community dogs and cats. We run spay and neuter clinics, provide rabies vaccinations, emergency treatment, and daily meals to street dogs and cats. We also deliver educational programmes in schools to teach kindness to animals and responsible pet care.

We’re currently looking for a Volunteer Grant Writer to help us secure vital funding so we can continue and expand our work for animals in need.

About the Role
As our Grant Writer, you’ll help identify suitable grant opportunities and prepare well-researched funding applications to support our animal welfare projects. You’ll work closely with our founder to understand the charity’s goals, gather information, and develop strong proposals that demonstrate our impact and vision.

The Alice Ruggles Trust is a leading charity dedicated to tackling stalking through education and training, campaigning, and prevention. We are seeking a Trustee with finance skills to replace our current Treasurer, who has undertaken the role for several years.

Alice Ruggles, aged 24, was murdered in 2016 by an ex-boyfriend following a relentless campaign of stalking. The Alice Ruggles Trust was set up by Alice’s parents to help prevent what happened to Alice happening to others, and ultimately to bring stalking to an end.

We are small but entering a period of significant expansion in response to government initiatives in relation to domestic abuse, violence against women and girls, and stalking. This is a challenging but also an exciting time for us.

We are seeking an experienced finance professional, preferably with experience in the charity sector, who will maintain an overview of the Alice Ruggles Trust’s financial affairs and play an essential role in the strategic planning of the Trustee Board in the months and years to come.

We are thrilled to be partnering with the Highbury Centre. For over 125 years, The Highbury Centre has been providing rest, renewal and Christian hospitality to missionaries and Christian workers from around the world. What began as the Foreign Missions Club has grown into something truly special, a home away from home where God's workers can rest, recharge, and reconnect with their calling.

In their beautiful Victorian building, they welcome church leaders, missionaries, aid workers and their families who come seeking not just accommodation, but genuine Christian fellowship and a space to catch their breath. 

We are seeking a new Chair of Trustees and up to four new trustees to join their board at this pivotal moment in their history. As a trustee, you'll play a crucial role in shaping their strategic direction, ensuring they remain financially sustainable, maintaining their beautiful historic building, and upholding the Christian values that have guided them for more than a century.

These are voluntary roles where your insight, experience and faith-driven enthusiasm will help continue their 125-year legacy of serving missionaries and Christian workers from across the globe. You'll be part of a committed board where your contribution will make a real and visible difference.

We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in one of the following:

• Finance (ideally with a relevant accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Building Management and Property (particularly Victorian buildings and heritage properties)
• Hospitality and Guest House Management
• Christian Missionary Work and Global Missions

Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with charity law, shaping strategic direction, overseeing financial health, supporting the General Manager, and acting as an ambassador for The Highbury Centre. You'll champion our unique ministry of providing rest and renewal for those serving God's kingdom worldwide.

Above all, we're looking for committed Christians with passion for mission, and a heart for serving those who serve others. We warmly welcome first-time trustees, your fresh perspective and enthusiasm are just as valuable as prior board experience.
