About the Project – Door of Hope (East London)
The Door of Hope Project provides support to women who sell sex in Tower Hamlets. This includes journeying alongside women, whilst providing advocacy, information, emotional and practical support. The project also has a strong team of around 15 volunteers, who deliver street outreach to women in Tower Hamlets on a Thursday morning and Friday night.
About the Role
Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.
Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker.
Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide holistic support for women with complex needs who want support, or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.
This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver an in-person support service, with women who sell sex on-street in East London. You will have frontline experience of working with individuals who experience multiple disadvantage. This might be in the VAWG sector, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health or counselling or direct experience of women in the sex industry. You will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people and be aware of the need for Safeguarding.
You will be a champion of the cause, have a passion for supporting women who face multiple disadvantages and be familiar with the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector.

The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. The Finance Officer will join a small and dynamic team that covers Finance, Human Resources, IT and Business Operations. The Sutton Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer to join the team and provide crucial support on a range of key finance processes. The Team
This role will fit into the small Finance & Operations team and will be line managed by the Finance Manager.
Main Duties
- Maintaining the Purchase Ledger including processing supplier invoices, staff expense claims, grant and bursary payments, reconciling statements and making the relevant payments
- Maintaining the Sales Ledger including raising invoices and allocating receipts
- Cash management including checking bank transactions daily, allocating transactions on the accounting system and producing regular bank reconciliations. Paying in cheques and reconciling floats, if required
- Maintaining accurate records of both unrestricted and restricted fund transactions including receipts, grants, staff expenses, overheads and cash
- Providing timely and accurate financial support to the Programmes, Development and Research teams to assist them with forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation and (donor) reporting
- Supporting with the month end procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation, month end adjustments, salary and overhead allocations
- Gathering monthly payroll information and reviewing monthly payroll reports
- Assisting with the administration of the pension scheme and of employee benefits
- Preparing quarterly Gift Aid claims and maintaining the relevant supporting documentation
- Assisting with the year-end statutory accounts preparation, audit and budget setting process
- Ensuring that the filing is done in a timely manner and that all paperwork is up to date

- Oversee the quality of case-recording and documentation on a clinical database (IAPTUS)
- Ensure that all follow up and records maintenance is done within the project timelines and to a high standard
- Contribute to the quarterly reporting to the commissioners on quality assurance from the clinical point of view
- Represent the MHST and HFEH Mind at external meetings
- Attend regular team meetings as agreed with the service manager
- Attend and successfully complete all mandatory training as required by HFEH Mind
- Ensure that all support provided has an inclusive values base which recognises and respects difference and diversity
- Attend regular 1:1s and reflective practice sessions, and work to meet KPIs and actions from meetings
- Any other reasonable tasks to meet the needs of the organisation (inline with the requirements of the role).
Person Specification
Essential
- Professional qualification (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing).
- Accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BPS, BABCP, NMC, Social Work England).
- Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in child and adolescent mental health, including direct work with children and families with complex needs
- Experience of providing clinical supervision to practitioners working with children
- Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions (e.g. CBT, trauma-informed approaches)
- Experience of managing risk and safeguarding concerns
- Excellent communication skills and non-judgmental approach to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Understanding of neurodiversity and the needs of children with additional or complex needs and an adaptable approach to what works
Desirable
- Knowledge of the MHST model, early intervention, and school-based mental health services
- Experience of working in education settings or school-based mental health teams
- Training in supervision models (e.g. BABCP/BPS supervision course)
- Experience in delivering training
- Experience of working in a school or college setting
