About the Role
Young Roots is looking for an experienced and creative Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Manager to play a key role in securing income that transforms the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Development, you’ll manage and grow a portfolio of Trust and Foundation partners, develop compelling funding proposals, and proactively identify new opportunities aligned with our strategy. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll place young people’s voices and experiences at the heart of every bid, helping to fund services that support belonging, wellbeing and futures.
This is an ideal role for a confident Trusts fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities, and taking ownership — while working collaboratively in a values-driven organisation.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a vital role in ensuring Young Roots can continue delivering life-changing support to young people seeking safety.
As our Finance Lead*, you'll be the go-to finance expert, keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly while translating complex financial data into accessible insights that empower our teams and leadership to make informed decisions. You'll manage everything from month-end processes and statutory accounts to cash flow forecasting and funder reporting, ensuring financial integrity through robust systems and controls.
This isn't just number-crunching – you'll be a trusted finance partner, working collaboratively across the organisation to support effective budget management, shape future initiatives, and ultimately help us maximise our impact for young refugees and asylum seekers.
The role requires proven experience in charity finance, including independently managing month-end processes, producing statutory accounts in accordance with Charity SORP, and managing grant funding. You'll need an accounting qualification (AAT Level 4, full- or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent by experience) and hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can communicate financial information in ways that make sense to non-finance audiences, work confidently with senior stakeholders, and is motivated by supporting our mission.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join our Young Carers team as a Young Carers Transition Lead.
You will lead and coordinate the Young Carers Transition Pathway so that young carers (YC) and young adult carers (YAC) experience a consistent, person-centred journey from early preparation (5–10) through post-16 and into adulthood.
You will drive awareness and access to support across schools, FE/HE and employers, maintain regular conversations and touch points, and embed the Transition Pathway within the Local Authority statutory assessment and review cycle, in partnership with our Assessment Officers.

- Maintain Carers Trust Heart of England (CTHoE) Young Carers Transition Pathway (tools, timelines, checklists, templates); ensure alignment with statutory guidance and commissioning requirements; champion co-production and inclusive practice.
- Run a blended model of weekly venue-based groups, the Drop-In Hub, structured one-to-one (1:1) sessions, and online options, tailored by age and stage (including early preparation for children aged 5–10 and post-16 transition content).
- Plan, deliver and cover groups across our area of operation to maintain continuity and meet agreed access and touch-point standards; provide contingency cover to avoid session gaps.
- Co-work with Assessment Officers so Transition Pathway prompts are built into statutory assessments and scheduled 6 and 12-month reviews; update prompts, templates and Customer/Client Relationship Management (CRM) fields as needed.
- Model best practice in assessment, planning, reviews and safe closure; work in a trauma-informed, strengths-based way; escalate risks promptly via safeguarding procedures.
- Develop active relationships with schools, Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) providers, employers, and Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) partners; coordinate assemblies, staff briefings, campus visits, mentoring and careers inputs to increase awareness and referrals.
- To work towards all of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as set out in our funding agreements, which will be kept under regular review.
- Produce routine updates for the Service Manager, Senior Management Team (SMT) and commissioners; use data to target continuous improvement.
- Deliver in line with safeguarding policy; promote EDI across all delivery; follow lone-working procedures and escalate concerns appropriately.

- Create and maintain a clear young carer (under 18) adult carer (18+) handover process, including joint meetings, shared action plans and follow-up checks to ensure no loss of support at the point of transition.
- Co-design and, where appropriate, co-deliver sessions (e.g. information evenings, carer’s rights, benefits, condition-specific education, wellbeing) that meet the needs of both young carers and adult carers.
- Apply the No Wrong Doors approach and the Triangle of Care principles across children’s and adults’ services so families experience seamless access, shared responsibility and consistent professional boundaries.

There will be a requirement to work closely with the income generating staff, budget holders, auditors, banks and credit card providers on a regular basis. The Role
This is a newly created senior leadership role and a rare opportunity to shape how financial insight drives humanitarian impact.
As Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will build and lead MSF UK’s FP&A function, ensuring that resources are used wisely, investment decisions are evidence-based, and financial insight empowers colleagues to make the best possible decisions for our patients.
You will work at the heart of the organisation — partnering with senior leaders, fundraising teams and budget holders — to translate strategy into robust financial plans and ensure every pound raised delivers maximum impact.
What You’ll Do
You will lead MSF UK’s FP&A function to support better decisions, stronger financial sustainability and greater humanitarian impact. This includes:
- Driving strategic insight: providing clear financial analysis, modelling and advice to inform investment decisions, income growth and value for money.
- Leading planning and forecasting: owning MSF UK’s budgeting, reforecasting and multi-year financial planning processes.
- Strengthening financial reporting: ensuring timely, accurate and meaningful management accounts, KPIs and commentary for senior leaders and trustees.
- Partnering with the organisation: acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, managers and budget holders, strengthening financial literacy and accountability.
- Identifying efficiencies: working collaboratively to uncover opportunities for cost savings and improved use of resources.
- Building capability: line managing and developing the Finance Business Partner and continuously improving FP&A processes, tools and ways of working.
About You
You are a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with significant experience in FP&A and a strong track record of using financial insight to influence decisions at senior level.
You combine technical excellence with empathy and purpose. You are comfortable working in complexity, skilled at explaining finance to non-financial colleagues, and motivated by using your expertise to support a mission that truly matters.

In this key role, you’ll lead the delivery of legacy marketing campaigns across digital, direct mail and other channels, create compelling content to inspire gifts in wills, and take charge of in-person events to engage supporters and pledgers.
