The Vacancy

The Membership Operations Officer will provide part-time business-as-usual support to the Membership team, helping the team run smoothly, respond quickly to member and internal enquiries, and maintain clear, accurate and accessible membership information.

The role will support the day-to-day operations of the membership function, with a particular focus on digital and knowledge management, membership inbox coordination, enquiry triage and timely follow-up. Working closely with the Head of Membership, Member Engagement Advisers and colleagues across Start Network, the postholder will help ensure membership systems, records, communications and operational processes are well organised, responsive and useful to staff, members and hubs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Digital and knowledge management support (40%)

● Maintain organised, accurate and accessible membership information across internal systems, including Box, SharePoint and Salesforce.

● Support colleagues across teams to access up-to-date member information, documents and tools that enable consistent member engagement.

● Support the development and maintenance of digital platforms that improve member engagement, communications and access to shared resources.

● Coordinate with Communications and relevant hubs to keep membership messaging, website updates and new member announcements accurate and timely.

Membership inbox, coordination and administration (40%)

● Monitor the Membership inbox regularly, ensuring enquiries are acknowledged, triaged and directed to the right person or team in a timely and responsive way.

● Act as the first point of coordination for routine member enquiries, tracking actions and ensuring follow-up is completed or escalated where needed.

● Support day-to-day Membership team coordination, including scheduling meetings, preparing papers, maintaining action logs and keeping shared documents up to date.

● Work with the Membership team, especially the Membership Knowledge Management to support routine membership processes, including annual invoicing and tracking of membership contributions.

● Coordinate follow-up on member queries, issues and engagement activities, ensuring clear ownership, deadlines and records of agreed actions.

About the role

About You

You will be based in the UK.

Role overview 

Shine supports a community of over 15,000 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, including 10,000 adults (25+).

You will be delivering high-quality support and creating opportunities for adults living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their carers, supporting Shine members to lead healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives by improving condition management and fostering connections within the Shine community. 

This role will focus on adults (25+), you will be primarily working within the Adult Services Team. However, there will be occasions when you will work across age groups to ensure the best outcomes for our members. 

The role is home-based and ideally you will live within an hour commute of London, within Essex, Kent or Sussex as you will be attending clinics in London and the Southeast as required. There would be occasional travel required across wider areas and nationally including attendance at events, conferences and meetings at our head office in Peterborough.

The Role

To provide a high-quality housing management and health and safety service, acting as a primary point of contact for tenants and delivering excellent customer service. The role includes managing tenancies, carrying out health and safety inspections and compliance checks, maintaining accurate records, promoting tenant responsibilities, and taking enforcement action where required. The Head of Public Fundraising is a new role at Coeliac UK leading the charity’s public fundraising function. The role focusses on driving sustainable growth across individual giving, community fundraising, events, lottery, raffle, digital fundraising and merchandise. This role is responsible for delivering Coeliac UK’s 5-year fundraising strategy to maximise return-on-investment, grow long term supporter value, and contribute to the charity’s mission. 

The Head of Public Fundraising will embed and deliver comprehensive fundraising strategies, growing Coeliac UK’s supporter base and income, building up new and under-developed income streams and communicating effectively with their audiences to expand their reach, and encourage financial and non-financial support to deliver the organisations mission.

Who are we looking for?

Key to the success of this role is a strong understanding of individual giving fundraising. This role blends the strategic oversight and leadership of a Head of role across multiple income streams, with the hands-on expertise of an IG fundraiser. Experience across other income streams and areas of fundraising delivery would be a huge benefit as the role leads community fundraising and events, will take on digital fundraising - currently led by the Chief Engagement Officer, as well as manage the data and supporter care functions, but experience in individual giving is essential as Coeliac UK has defined that as an area of priority income. To progress to a screening call with THINK Recruitment, your CV must demonstrate evidence of delivering individual giving income in a UK charity environment. 

The successful candidate for this role will be someone who has already operated at a senior level within a charity such as at Senior Manager level, or Head of in a specific income stream.

Hybrid working

What you'll do

As a Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload, including delegating tasks to a paralegal where appropriate. You will provide legal advice and representation primarily in relation to Housing Conditions claims, covering areas such as property litigation, general property matters, and land law. 

The role also involves supporting Senior Solicitors, the Assistant Director of Legal Services, and the General Counsel and Company Secretary on complex or high-value matters as required. You will be expected to take a proactive approach in driving and implementing improvements to the organisation’s response to Housing Conditions-related claims. 

In addition, you will provide legal support to internal Peabody stakeholders on housing condition issues and broader housing-related litigation, including offering legal analysis on policy, procedure, and corporate matters. You'll actively represent Legal Services in a positive manner, contributing to cross-organisational working groups and forums, and play a key role in delivering the Legal Services strategy and supporting Peabody’s wider business objectives. You will also contribute to the development and delivery of the Legal Services training programme, as well as assist the Legal Team or other teams within Governance and Risk on special projects as required from time to time.
 
 What you’ll need 

• Demonstrable experience providing legal support to stakeholders in both contentious and non-contentious matters including providing legal analysis on policy, procedure and corporate business.
• Demonstrable experience within proceedings in the county and magistrates court, first-tier tribunal, including where appropriate the ability to act as advocate.
• Experience managing own caseload comprising a variety of landlord and tenant matters, including Housing Condition matters, property litigation, general property and land law.
• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or a member of ILEX
