The CEO will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the continued success and sustainability of Clwyd Special Riding Centre. This is a wide-ranging role combining strategic leadership with hands-on people management.

The postholder will oversee the daily running of the Centre while also working closely with Trustees to deliver long-term development plans. The role demands strong financial and organisational management, excellent people skills, and the ability to balance compassion with pragmatism.

The CEO will act as a key ambassador for the Centre, building relationships with supporters, stakeholders, and the wider community to secure funding and grow the charity’s impact.  The CEO will create the strategic plans for the next 5 years and work with the Trustees, Stakeholders and Staff to implement the plan.

About the Role

As the main point of contact for UDG, the Membership and Administration Officer plays a pivotal role in the organisation’s day-to-day operations, ensuring an outstanding experience for members. As part of a small, dedicated team, the role focuses on managing membership operations, maintaining accurate records, facilitating effective communication, and supporting initiatives to grow and engage the membership. Key Responsibilities:

Membership Services

• Serve as the main point of contact for all enquiries from members and the public, managing the membership administration inbox and providing prompt, professional, and helpful responses, triaging to colleagues where necessary.

• Administer all membership processes, including applications, renewals, terminations, and database updates, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

• Maintain UDG’s membership and finance records in QuickBooks and track renewal payments across all methods, liaising with the external finance team as needed.

• Coordinate specific membership categories, including:

  • Recognised Practitioner – receiving and checking applications, liaising with the Assessment Panel, and informing candidates of outcome.

  • Corporate Memberships – processing applications and setting up webpages.

  • University Memberships – coordinating with course leaders on journal distribution.

  • Subscription Bureau Memberships – managing arrangements with external providers.

• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Communications Manager to promote membership benefits and encourage member involvement with UDG activities and initiatives.

• Build and maintain targeted contact lists by identifying relevant groups, practices, and influential individuals for UDG outreach and engagement.

• Prepare and provide updated membership mailing data for distribution of UDG’s quarterly journal, Urban Design.

• Maintain a high standard of customer service, ensuring members feel engaged and valued.

Administration

Provide general administrative support for the UDG team as required including:

• Support for UDG Committees (Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, Editorial Board, Working Groups, and Awards Panel), such as:

  • Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and circulating papers.

  • Producing concise, action-oriented minutes.

• Promptly process recruitment advertisement requests, including website postings and invoicing.

• Carry out routine updates to the UDG website, including the Urban Design Directory.

• Coordinate the scheduling for of activities, meetings and events.

• Support the Book Review Editor by coordinating the book review process, liaising with publishers and ensuring reviewers receive copies in a timely manner.

• Proactively identify opportunities to streamline administrative and membership processes.

Events

• Assist in the planning and delivery of online, hybrid, and in-person events in collaboration with the UDG Directors and the Fundraising and Communications Manager, including managing registrations, preparing materials, booking venues, and arranging catering.

• Provide basic technical support for online and hybrid events to ensure smooth execution.

Team working and collaboration

• Foster a collaborative working environment by maintaining regular communication with colleagues, Executive Committee members and others involved with the Group.

• Actively participate in UDG meetings and events, contributing ideas to support our organisational objectives.

• Take a hands-on, flexible approach within a small team.

Person Specification

• Essential Experience

  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.

  • Experience managing memberships, databases or similar systems.

  • Experience facilitating and supporting committees and/or working groups.

• Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong all-round administrative skills including recording keeping, servicing committees, note-taking, drafting documents, diary management etc.

  • Confident maintaining and interpreting membership data.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Mac applications, as well as digital tools such as Zoom, SurveyMonkey, Mailchimp, and Eventbrite.

  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping principles (a working knowledge of Quickbooks or other online book-keeping systems would be highly advantageous).

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

About this job

The MS Society has made a huge investment in technology to implement a new CRM system to enable us to improve in use of our data and to streamline contact with the MS Community, including Services, Fundraising and directed communications. This is the Organisation’s key, central system.

90% of all funding for the charity is processed through the CRM system including Gift Aid, regular giving and special events, Direct Debits. This role is critical and responsible for the end-to-end processes working and, therefore, the income being processed and collected in a timely fashion.

The role will be part of a CRM team responsible for managing and supporting functionality and data integrity within the CRM system. The role is also responsible for managing key internal and external relationships at all levels.

The role is also responsible for delivering the 1st, 2nd line support of the CRM system as well as building import templates, workflows and that data within is clean, accessible and available.

The successful candidate is expected to be an expert in their field.

Assistant Financial Accountant

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support the delivery of accurate, timely financial information and help ensure strong financial controls across the organisation. You will play a key role in supporting month-end processes, maintaining robust audit trails, and working closely with colleagues across finance, data and fundraising.

This is a permanent role with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring one to two days per week in the organisation’s central London office.

The HR Officer will take responsibility for the end-to-end recruitment process, from role scoping and advertising through to interview coordination, candidate communication and referencing. They will oversee onboarding and induction, ensuring new starters are effectively supported in a hybrid working environment, and will manage core HR administration, including contracts, payroll changes, pensions uploads, benefits administration and HR systems maintenance. The role will also involve coordinating performance management cycles, staff surveys and people-related reporting, maintaining and updating HR policies, and acting as a first point of contact for managers and staff on matters such as probation, leave, maternity and other family-friendly policies. Alongside this, the postholder will support employee relations processes, liaise with external providers and agencies, and ensure compliance with employment legislation, data protection and right-to-work requirements.

The successful candidate will bring previous experience in a similar HR role, with strong exposure to recruitment, payroll and pensions, and confidence advising on first-level employee relations matters. They will be highly organised, detail-driven and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels. A sound working knowledge of UK employment legislation, ACAS codes of practice and right-to-work compliance is essential, as are strong communication skills and a high degree of discretion and integrity. Experience within a charity, membership or values-led organisation would be advantageous, as would familiarity with HR systems, reporting and advanced Excel. A relevant professional qualification, or equivalent practical experience supported by ongoing professional development, is desirable.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Engagement, you will be responsible for:

• Creating, delivering, and evaluating a long-term Individual Giving strategy.

• Building a diverse and sustainable portfolio of individual giving income streams, including regular giving, appeals, digital fundraising, mid-level giving, and legacy gifts.

• Planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns that integrate with marketing, communications, and retail initiatives.

• Using data and insight to drive performance, monitor results, and develop strong cases for support.

• Supporting branches and volunteers in delivering individual giving initiatives.

• Developing supporter journeys that encourage loyalty, growth, and long-term engagement.

• Ensuring all activities comply with fundraising legislation, best practice, and data protection law.

This is a hands-on, strategic role that will allow you to take ownership of your programme while collaborating across the Trust to deliver impactful campaigns and initiatives.
