What’s the role?
As a Governance Officer, you will be able to provide a highly organised and effective governance and administrative service to our internal customers and the Board as well as working collaboratively with other teams in the business and act as the main point of contact for the Governance team.
The right candidate will need to:
- Provide administrative support to our Executive Management Team, Board, Committee and Group entities.
- Maintain registers effectively and coordinate the management of meetings and all aspects required with this (e.g. circulate agendas in advance, booking of catering if required, minute taking, assist with report writing and issue papers accordingly.

In2scienceUK’s aim is to promote social mobility and diversity in science, technology, engineering and maths. We do this by leveraging the skills and passion of researchers and STEM professionals to support young people from low socio-economic backgrounds to achieve their potential and progress to degrees and careers in STEM.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills to be part of our ambitious fundraising team. You’ll have some experience in forming partnerships and or generating leads through targeted content.
Background to the project:
The Development Officer role is an exciting role which will enable the delivery of an expanded programme in 2024 and beyond. Your main responsibility will be leading our partner outreach for the continued growth of In2scienceUK. Industry engagement is key for the continued expansion of our new In2careers programme. This programme supports young people on their social mobility journey by removing barriers and creating opportunities.
Your specific duties will include:
Planning and strategy
- Identifying corporate partners

As a funding officer you will assess requests for funding and work together with colleagues to make funding decisions.
By working closely with people and communities from a defined geographical area, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
You will manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.
You will work with stakeholders at different levels, represent the Fund within your local area including at funding fairs and external meetings and create opportunities for people to come together. You will share learning from your conversations, events, grant holder reports and evaluations with other colleagues so that we can maximise our impact.

We are looking for a proactive individual with good storytelling skills to produce fundraising applications and reports that inspire. You will be joining our friendly team at an exciting time for the organisation, as we strive to achieve our key ambitions by the year 2030 across our programmes, fundraising and communications efforts. As part of GCT’s Programmes team, you will work closely with the Senior Development Manager (SDM) to secure grant funding from trusts and foundations across our programme portfolio (including island restoration, community & nature, ocean protection and plastic pollution topics), with an increasing focus on securing multi-year funding to embed sustainability in our programme delivery. You will be a great writer, researcher and comfortable working with numbers, enabling you to identify new fundraising opportunities and develop engaging proposals and reports with clear budgets. To make parks the best they can be we rely on volunteers. Our network of thousands of park volunteers go the extra mile to bring their park to life and the potential for volunteering across Bristol is huge.
We need a part-time Volunteer Support Officer to assist volunteers and help coordinate their activities. You will work closely with us and Bristol City Council to help make volunteering easy and enjoyable for everyone.
You will make sure volunteers feel valued and help them make a difference to their park by being the first point of contact. You will monitor our inbox, respond to volunteer’s questions, help organise activities and promote volunteering opportunities. You will keep volunteers up to date by sending emails and you will support them to use the volunteer database.
- Location: Primarily home based, with the opportunity to work from shared working spaces in Bristol and regular travel to visit volunteers in parks.
- Contract: Part time (15 hours per week, ideally worked over 3 days) until 31st March 2026.
