PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• To offer front line education advisory support service to kinship, adoptive and foster families and professionals seeking support and advice about education services for care experienced children.

• To lead the development and delivery of education training to professionals across Scotland and actively support AUK lobbying and campaigning efforts on education matters.

• To develop, coordinate and support delivery and administration of an education support group (online or in person) to the care experience community youth and family.

• To work alongside our youth service provision ensuring the voices of young people are centred in resource development and delivery, supporting development of education and employability support.  

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with education advisor lead in delivering education support service to families and professionals.

• Manage own caseloads, monitor and review progress at regular education meetings using established tools. Ensure tracking and recording on AUK system database and Sharepoint.

• Develop, promote and deliver Education training for professionals across Scotland. Including supporting the development and delivery of Education elements of training in other AUK teams and development of commissioned projects e.g. care experience week lessons, resources and training for Education Scotland

• Responsible for administrative tasks relating to service delivery

• Respond appropriately to enquiries via email, telephone or in person, referring on to other services and ensure accurate and appropriate recording and tracking of all enquires are maintained using appropriate database systems.  

• Contribute and assist in development of education specific projects to improve service delivery (i.e. education peer support group or young person support group)

• Support manager in monitoring and reporting of service delivery

• Contribute and assist in the development, design and planning of promotional resources and information materials and factsheets.

• Attend relevant national meetings, conferences, training events, networking and development opportunities to promote Adoption UK services

• Collaborate, liaise with Adoption UK Scotland and Adoption UK organisation in the delivery and participation of specific events and activities relating to the delivery of Education services for Adoption UK services.

As a Housing and Homelessness Advisor, you’ll provide person‑centred housing support to the Armed Forces community, offering advice, casework and tenancy sustainment to those at risk of homelessness. You’ll triage new enquiries, manage a varied caseload and ensure accessible, inclusive support for all beneficiaries.

Working closely with local authorities, housing providers and third‑sector partners, you’ll help deliver joined‑up support through the Council’s Housing Options approach. You’ll represent GHH in forums with key stakeholders, including Homeless Network Scotland, and contribute to housing projects and outreach clinics across the city.

A key part of the role includes applying for funding for rent, deposits and emergency accommodation, while supporting beneficiaries to maintain stable, long‑term housing through proactive engagement and early intervention.

This is a dynamic, community‑focused role where no two days are the same. You’ll develop your skills in case management, safeguarding, multi‑agency working and crisis support, while making a meaningful difference to those who have served.

As a pet‑friendly service, GHH regularly supports beneficiaries who may have assistance or support animals.

About the team

GHH, based at the Pearce Institute in Govan and delivered in partnership with SSAFA and Glasgow City Council, provides trusted support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Our trauma‑informed, holistic approach offers wraparound assistance that addresses housing needs alongside wider wellbeing challenges, helping beneficiaries build resilience and sustain long‑term housing solutions.

The service operates a gateway model, giving the Armed Forces community a single point of contact for housing, financial, employability and wider support.

You’ll be part of a highly collaborative network, working closely with local and national partners such as Citizens Advice Scotland, Veterans Housing Scotland, Erskine, Scottish Veterans Residences, Defence Medical Welfare Services, Homeless Casework Teams and Homeless Network Scotland. The role also involves attending stakeholder events that may occasionally fall outside of standard office hours.  

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a proactive, compassionate person with a genuine interest in housing and homelessness. You’ll bring relevant experience or strong transferable skills, along with the motivation to support the Armed Forces community through complex housing challenges.

Ideally, you will hold a Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 2 or 3 qualification in Housing Practice or be willing to work towards it as part of your development in the role

You’ll manage a varied caseload, provide person‑centred support, and work closely with local authorities, landlords and partner agencies. Strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills are essential.

This is a community‑based role involving citywide travel, outreach work and home visits, and requires flexibility when dealing with urgent or changing needs.

Operations Director:

A new post at the Longford Trust, created at an exciting time of growth and development for the charity.

- A 3 day-a-week role;

- Reporting to the Director and working as part of the Senior Management Team of the trust, within an overall cohort of eight, all part-time posts;

- Paid pro-rata of £50-55,000 depending on experience via PAYE with pensions contributions;

- The trust has no physical office, so team members work remotely, with flexible hours, but all team members work Tuesdays. There are regular face-to-face team meetings, as well as one-to-ones, so easy access to London an advantage.

Person specification

Essential qualities you need to be able to demonstrate:

- commitment to prison reform, with an understanding of the prison system and the barriers it creates for those leaving prison (lived experience of the prison or the criminal justice system is valued);

- senior management background either in a charitable organisation or in a relevant area;

- an entrepreneurial approach;

- proven leadership skills and ability to represent the trust in public settings;

- track record in expressing yourself clearly and persuasively in writing;

- strong interpersonal skills in regard of team-working, team-building and upholding the values of the trust;

The Longford Trust was set up in 2002. Each November, it stages an annual Longford Lecture and awards an annual Longford Prize. Our Longford Scholarship programme supports young serving and ex-prisoners to continue their rehabilitation by going to university. It is the only programme of its type across the UK, supporting more than 600 individuals so far, with over 100 current award-holders, as well as many alumni who continue to be part of the trust. Between 80 and 85% of those we support go on to graduate, move into employment and build new lives. Our scholarship programme accounts for more than three quarters of our expenditure

Job Title: Commercial Manager

Reporting To: Head of Retail, Wholesale & Food Service

Salary Range: £36,000 - £38,000 (dependent upon experience)

The Felix Project and FareShare have recently merged to form the UK's largest food redistribution charity. Its vision is a UK where good food is never wasted, and nobody goes hungry.

The organisation rescues high quality edible surplus food, from across the food industry and gets it to over 8,000 organisations across the UK who are working to strengthen communities and improve lives.

The charity manages seven depots across London, Suffolk, Merseyside and Hampshire and works with 16 network partners who operate a further 26 regional depots across the UK.

Over the next year our ambition is to rescue enough food nationally to provide nearly 200 million meals, turning an environmental problem into social good with measurable impact for people, planet, and the economy.

Purpose of the Job

Commercial Manager will identify, develop and manage top food partners relationships and strengthen existing business relationships with companies in the food industry, generating value for the partner and to secure growing and sustainable volumes of surplus food for the FareShare Network. For designated top food partners, you will be their day-to-day point of contact with regular face to face contact at all levels.

You will undertake structured, strategic account management, leading and coordinating FareShare’s engagement across our organisation. This will mean agreeing and executing a bespoke joint business plan with each account to get more food, money and strategic support. You will also feedback on ways that we can better support our accounts and improve our services to them. You will work directly and be on-site with top food partners to help identify and overcome the barriers which exist to giving surplus food to people in need as well as increasing money and strategic resource.

You will also be required to work closely with FareShare colleagues within FareShare and across the UK in our partner organisations in order to identify and understand opportunities for creating mutual and shared value.

Duties and Responsibilities

Partnership Management

• Contribute to the development of consistent, structured Joint Business plans with

designated accounts that take into account food, funding and other strategic initiatives to drive growth in food, money and other strategic resources

• Work on behalf of the account to develop and embed services relevant to the account and agreed through the joint business plan – e.g. employability or store level redistribution 

• Execute joint business plans and report internally and externally on progress.

• Research and understand your accounts, including key ESG initiatives, waste streams, key personnel within the organisation that will help drive its success and engage the relevant internal departments through both desked based research and face to face contact.

• Proactively drive account forwards and progress these relationships with regular on-site visits and linking FareShare exec with key contacts.

• Keep up to date with industry and charity insights and ensure this is reflected back strategically across ways of working and account management.

Project and Initiative Management 

• Be responsible for managing and communicating key projects and initiatives to increase food volumes and strategic value, securing support from a range of stakeholders within food partners and across the FareShare network. 

• Work closely with Supply Chain and Logistics, Operations and Network Development teams with the aim of optimising food out to our network

• Develop and lead FareShare cross-departmental strategic activity to enable us to derive maximum value from key food partners including liaising with fundraising, marketing and volunteering teams.

We are looking for a College Alumni Relations Manager to join our team to refine and expand a bold and innovative alumni volunteering programme to support both the priorities of the College of Medicine and Health and DARO. As a DARO business partner for the College, you will be based both within DARO and the College itself. Volunteer Centre Hackney is a thriving charity (annual income circa £1.1m, with 29 paid staff) providing volunteering infrastructure to the voluntary sector across the City of London and the London borough of Hackney. We support over 1500 residents a year to realise their skills and passions through volunteering and social action, and to share these for the benefit of others. We also provide volunteering resource, and advice and guidance on best practice in volunteer management, to hundreds of charities and community organisations.

Through our specialist programmes, our impact on the lives of residents is huge. This is a hands-on and strategic role for an experienced fundraiser who thrives in a small to medium sized charity environment. You will have autonomy to develop a whole new fundraising strategy, utilising diverse fundraising methods, and building and developing new project ideas and partnerships. You will lead on income generation primarily through sourcing and applying to multiple trusts and foundations, but diversified by building new corporate partnerships, community campaigns and individual giving. You will build authentic relationships with funders and supporters, and together with VCH colleagues, will identify new programme models as ways to generate income. You will contribute to the development and production of compelling stories, evidence and marketing and build and maintain the infrastructure needed to track and achieve progress against annual income targets.

Post holders need to have excellent communication skills, to represent the charity in writing and in person. You must be enthusiastic, self-motivating and confident to work primarily alone, but also able to engage and collaborate with staff from across the organisation to share information and impact evidence to support your role. If you are successful in securing funding there will be the potential to recruit additional support, and for you to become the Head of Fundraising of a small team.

You'll also help our Delivery Partners and volunteers do the same, both in person and virtually through our trusty MS Teams. When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.

And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, you’ll also be keeping meticulous records of information and data on our young people, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey is accurately reflected in our systems so that it complies with our funding contracts.

Hotel School is an award-winning charity that empowers people who have experienced homelessness and other disadvantages to thrive in the hospitality industry. This dynamic 10-week programme combines theory, hands-on experience, and industry visits to provide the skills and confidence to land a job and excel in it.

About the Role

As an Employment & Progression Coach, you’ll work one-on-one with students and graduates, supporting them to overcome barriers, stay motivated, and achieve their goals, evoking meaningful change in their lives and futures.

You will also work closely with Hotel School hospitality employer partners to identify suitable job opportunities and collaborate to ensure our graduates are well-supported as they transition into and sustain meaningful employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one, trauma-informed and person-centred employment support to students and graduates

• Help graduates overcome barriers and prepare for sustainable hospitality careers

• Work closely with employer partners to secure and support job opportunities

• Coordinate work experience placements and deliver employability workshops

• Collaborate with mentors and support services to ensure holistic, person-centred support

• Monitor and record the progress of students and graduates

• Follow safeguarding procedures and respond appropriately

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with people experiencing homelessness and/or other disadvantages or in

  employment services

Brief role description 

NOVA provides trauma-informed, person-centred support to UK Armed Forces veterans who are at risk of, or already in contact with the criminal justice system. NOVA operates across England (as Op NOVA), Scotland and Wales. We are now developing the service in Northern Ireland.

The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will manage and support a caseload of veterans, providing emotional and practical support across a range of factors including mental health and wellbeing, social stability, housing and employability. They will be working in collaboration with local partners to reduce reoffending.

The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will work in the community, in partnership with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Probation Board for Northern Ireland (PBNI) and other local partners to provide support to veterans at all stages of the justice pathway: pre-arrest, point of arrest, court process, custody, and transition back into the community.

Please note this role is on a 3-years Fixed Term Contract.
