Key Responsibilities

People strategy - (Approx 40%)

• Operations strategy and ways of working: Work with the CEO and SLT, co-design and implement a robust operations strategy and clear ways of working for effective allocation of team and resources to achieve the organisation's objectives, strengthening further our  principles of deep collaboration, equity and care.

• Equitable recruitment and retention strategy: Building on our existing progress in inclusive hiring, you will work closely with the CEO and SLT to evolve and champion our recruitment and retention strategy. You will continue to refine our processes, ensuring we remain at the forefront of removing access barriers and nurturing a diverse, flourishing, and long-term workforce. You will be responsible for timelining, creating Job Descriptions; advertising strategy and budget; liaise with hiring manager; referencing; offer letters & contracts.

• People development & care: Working closely with the CEO and SLT, contribute to the development and lead on the implementation of training, continuous professional development processes and policies that enable transparency, peer to peer feedback, psychological safety, professional development and empowerment.

• Delivery strategy: Working closely with the Head of Programmes, design and drive a capacity planning strategy for the team across 20+ projects to ensure impact delivery as well as balanced workloads. 

• Cross-cutting principles: Working closely with the CEO, leading internal policy work, you will steward and expand our internal policy framework, ensuring that our established principles of wellbeing, diversity, accessibility, and anti-racism continue to be deeply woven into the fabric of every new and existing policy.

Operational excellence (Approx 30%)

• Systems improvement: Enhance and adjust systems, processes, and best practices to ensure they are flexible enough to respond to the lived realities of a diverse team.

• Digital access: Lead the planning and implementation of IT and digital strategies that facilitate accessible and collaborative remote/hybrid working.

• Compliance and safety: Maintain and communicate health, safety, and security protocols through a lens of collective care and team protection.

• Process standardisation: Working with the CEO and Finance Manager, drive consistency across HR, admin, and finance to reduce cognitive load and administrative friction for the team.

HR & financial administration (Approx 20%)

• HR: 

  • HR Software & data ownership, maintenance and ensuring consistency in colleagues use of the software. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR enquiries, accessibility requests, and leave calculation.

  • Act on behalf of the CEO in handling confidential issues with care and restorative intent & liaising with external HR advisor.

• Financial support: In partnership with our Finance Manager, coordinate confidential finance administration, including payroll, pensions, and audit preparation, ensuring all team members are supported by stable financial operations.

• Resource management: Manage IT and Operations budgets.

• Contract management: Oversee the administration of employment contracts and agreements and NDAs for freelancers, as well as internship placements to ensure fair and clear working agreements.

Executive support & governance (Approx 10% of the time)

• Leadership partnership: Support the SLT in strategic direction, planning, and workforce development so they can focus on fundraising, advocacy and high-level impact work.

• Support the CEO on internal communications, business travel, scheduling, diary management, technical assistance.

• Board: Manage all JB Board administration, including arranging quarterly meetings, minutes, etc.

• Funding & tenders: Provide necessary operational and organisational information for funding applications and manage portal processes for payments and offers.

• Office Management: Lead on the management of JB’s office, ensuring that the office is a comfortable working environment and equipment is maintained. Be the first point of contact for Somerset House, facilities, and for office related issues.

• HR Expertise: Six to eight years of demonstrable practical experience in designing and implementing People centred strategies with a focus on collaborative leadership rooted in inclusion, equity, diversity and care (six to eight years of experience). We’re particularly interested in someone experienced and/or genuinely interested in participatory design methods that incorporate the lived experiences of a diverse team.

• Operational excellence: Six to eight years of demonstrable practical experience of developing and implementing effective operations strategies and effective systems and processes that enable organisational excellence and staff wellbeing.

The purpose of the role is to support the Bishops of Hereford, Southwell and Nottingham, and Coventry in their duties as Members of the House of Lords. The work includes research and information gathering, drafting speeches and questions, managing meetings, appointments and other events on behalf of the Bishops and such other work as they and the Head of Parliamentary Affairs may require from time to time.

The Parliamentary and Policy Researcher's priorities and tasks will be determined by the Bishops, with whom the postholder will be expected to have frequent direct contact along with their key advisers. In conjunction with their offices, the Head of Parliamentary Affairs will manage, guide and oversee the parliamentary work of the postholder.

The Parliamentary and Policy Researcher will be based with the Parliamentary Team. This is located at Lambeth Palace, London , SE1 7JU (within the Church of England's wider Faith and Public Life Team), and at Church House, Westminster, SW1P 3AZ. Some flexibility, including home working, is possible, though there is an expectation that the postholder be available to attend Westminster.

40% of the postholder's working time will be spent in support of the Bishop of Hereford, 40% in support of the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, and 20% in support of the Bishop of Coventry. Flexibility in the working pattern will be required, depending on the respective requirements of each, their commitments in the House of Lords, including duty weeks.

The work of the Bishops in the House of Lords is guided by their policy and local interests, as well as their status as religious leaders with a national profile. Both the Bishop of Hereford and the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham have a shared concern for issues affecting rural communities.

As such the post may be well suited to someone who has particular experience of or interest in these areas of policy.

From time to time the postholder may also be called upon to add capacity to the Parliamentary Team by providing resource to other Lords Spiritual on policy areas they have become familiar with in their work for the Bishops of Hereford, Southwell & Nottingham, and Coventry.

The postholder will need to have access to the Parliamentary Estate, so will be required to apply for a security pass sponsored by one of the employing Bishops, and will be expected to abide by the rules and codes set by Parliament that accompany the issuing of a pass. Zoe's Place Baby Hospice was founded in Liverpool in 1995 as the first hospice in the UK specifically providing for the needs of babies and younger children. Hybrid working

The CSP operates a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work between their home and the office. While we do not stipulate the number of days in the office, employees can decide, through discussions with their line managers, how, when, and where they work best, balancing the needs of the CSP, the team, and themselves. Employees are still expected to attend the office for in-person meetings when required for their role and the organisation. Homeworking is subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements, which include a minimum broadband speed of 18Mbps and a dedicated space to work from.

Flexible working

We currently have employees working part-time, job share, compressed hours, adjusted start and finish times, and other non-standard working patterns. We’re looking for a dedicated and organised Community Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day management of one of our homeownership over 55s housing communities. In this role, you’ll provide help, support, and advice to residents, ensuring their wellbeing and promoting a safe and secure environment. You’ll be responsible for housing management, coordinating services, and maintaining positive relationships with residents and stakeholders. This is a rewarding position where your ability to deliver excellent customer service will make a real difference to the lives of older people. 

What you’ll do 
As a Community Manager, you’ll support new residents to settle in, provide information about the scheme, and promote health and safety through regular checks. You’ll manage onsite contractors, oversee repairs, and maintain accurate records of expenditure and income. You’ll process purchase orders, handle administration, and manage communal facilities. You’ll also work closely with Residents’ Committees, attend meetings, and liaise with statutory and voluntary organisations to signpost residents to additional support. Occasionally, you may need to respond to emergencies outside normal office hours. 

What you’ll need 

• Experience in housing management and working with older people. 
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with clear written and verbal communication. 
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and strong administration abilities. 
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance and understanding of care and support needs for older people.
• Ability to manage budgets and work independently while building positive relationships with stakeholders. 

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role. 

This is a part‑time role, working 4 hours a day, Monday to Friday. The salary is £17,775 per annum for 20 hours per week (full‑time equivalent salary: £31,107).

We are looking for a pragmatic, collaborative AI professional to join us as our AI Programme Manager at The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR). The clinical adoption of AI is becoming a central issue in medicine, and our specialities of radiology and oncology are at the forefront of this development. The RCR has a vital role to play in navigating the safe and effective implementation of this technology. This post is central to shaping the RCR’s position on AI, drawing on the expertise and insight of our members and fellows to ensure we remain leaders in this area. 

We are looking for an experienced programme manager to continue to drive the AI agenda, overseeing multiple programmes and collaborating effectively with multi-disciplinary stakeholder groups across the RCR and beyond. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and equally comfortable with strategic oversight and the finer detail of this complex, technical area. You do not need to be an AI specialist, but a strong interest in the subject and a working knowledge of NHS systems will be an advantage.

This role sits within our External Affairs team, reflecting the RCR’s commitment to engaging with and representing members and fellows on AI. You will build strong relationships with our data, policy, public affairs and media specialists, working together to strengthen the RCR’s member engagement and influencing work in this area. You will also collaborate with colleagues across the RCR who support the practical implementation of AI — for example, through developing guidance or planning our Global AI Conference.
