About the role
This role will help Ageing Better deliver its ambition for more people to live in Age-friendly Homes and Communities—enabling people to live well, age well, and remain independent for as long as possible.
Reporting to the Head of Homes, as Research and Policy Manager (Homes and Communities), you will design and deliver research and policy projects from end to end by setting priorities, applying robust methodologies, managing partnerships and ensuring outputs are accessible, impactful and evidence-based. Working closely with colleagues across the Homes and Communities Team to ensure projects help to influence national and local policy and support our wider goals.
As one of two research and policy managers, you will be taking a lead delivery role on our research projects and be responsible for designing and conducting original research using both quantitative and qualitative methods, generating new insights that inform our policy positions and contribute to meaningful change.
You will also model our commitment to tackling inequalities and ensuring that the voice of a diverse mix of people in later life is visible and influential within all our activities.
About you
We are looking for someone with strong experience in delivering research projects, including defining research questions, selecting appropriate methodologies and producing clear, high-quality outputs while managing budgets and risks. You will be confident using qualitative and quantitative research methods, including evaluation approaches and have experience turning detailed findings into practical and actionable insights. Experience in basic data analysis is essential.
You will be highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholders effectively and bring strong project management skills. You will also be a clear and effective communicator. This includes being able to produce engaging outputs such as reports, blogs and case studies, alongside being confident designing and facilitating workshops. We are looking for someone who builds positive working relationships, works collaboratively and can contribute effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience of the housing and communities’ sector is desirable, as is an interest in issues affecting ageing and older people.

When young people in care turn 18, all the support they’ve relied on can fall away, literally overnight. Suddenly, they have to navigate adulthood on their own. This would be tough for any teenager, even if they could fall back on their family for help. So it’s not surprising that two out of three care-experienced young people feel unprepared to leave care. Too many still don’t get the support they need to make it safely past this cliff edge.
Care leavers aged 18-21 are nine times more likely to experience homelessness than their peers.
Settle exists to change this. We’re an award-winning charity, supporting care-experienced young people as they move into their first home, so they can confidently transition into independent living, avoid eviction and homelessness, and establish the foundations they need to thrive in adulthood. We are on a mission to end homelessness among care-experienced young people.
With our current Head of Fundraising leaving us to go travelling, we’re seeking someone new to help us achieve this ambition. You’ll have a lot to build on. Over the last three years, we’ve grown our income dramatically, and diversified our funder portfolio. We have strong relationships with our committed and supportive funders, underpinned by an organisation-wide commitment to fundraising.
This is a crucial role for Settle, and you’ll have the support you need to excel. In 2025, we grew our fundraising team from one (this post) to three. Hours: The hours are full-time (35 hours per week) preferred, with attendance at funder events outside core hours as needed from time to time – part-time will be considered for the right candidate but we envisage at least 0.8FTE / 28 hours per week
Location: Hybrid working between our office in London Bridge and working from home – our standard expectation is at least 2 days a week of contact time (in the office, funder meetings or events). This senior leadership position is responsible for managing and overseeing OTR’s Voice Services which include our Advocacy and Independent Visiting (IV) Service, Participation Service, LGBTQ+ Service, and our CAMHS Link Work Service. Service delivery support
Operational oversight and responsibility for OTR’s Voice service, working with the Service Leads to ensure continuity of quality service provision.

Through service evaluation, ensuring young people are receiving the best possible quality of support, capturing feedback and learning to continually develop the support we provide.

Working pattern and location
This role is based at our office in central Bath, which is very close to Bath Spa train station and Bath central bus station. The post holder will be based in a shared office with access to meeting rooms.
There is opportunity to work from home when agreed with your line manager, and we operate a flexible working policy which allows your hours to be spread throughout the day/week in agreement with your line manager.

About the role
This is a dynamic, strategic role and the successful candidate will exercise PersonCentred clinical responsibility for Woman’s Trust (WT), counselling, groupwork and other therapeutic services.
Reporting to the CEO, this role will oversee the day-to-day delivery of seamless, highquality service across all of our client-facing provisions. The post holder will support the CEO to ensure the future development of WT by leading the frontline staff team in the provision of high-quality, relevant and safe services to survivors of violence and abuse in line with WT’s aims and principles.
