The Head of Brand and Communications is responsible for developing and delivering Turn2us’ branding and external communications strategy, including media relations, social media, content marketing and work with influencers.

Key Responsibilities:

 

• As brand guardian ensure that the brand’s values, messaging and visual identity are consistently represented across all touchpoints and throughout the organisation, including maintaining high standards of quality for all branded materials and manage the use of all communications suppliers for Turn2us.
• Lead the organisation’s accumulation of insights about stakeholders' experiences of Turn2us and lead the charity’s continued development of the brand’s articulation.
• Support internal stakeholders, including Elizabeth Finn Homes, partners, and funders on the brand’s values, identity, and guidelines through training, inductions and up-to-date brand guidelines.
• Collaboratively develop Turn2us’ marketing and communications strategy and develop an annual calendar of activity in harmony with our work, vision, purpose, values and strategy.
• Develop and manage our traditional and social media presence as well as developing profile through collaboration with key influencers, editors and journalists.
• In partnership with the Head of Supporter Engagement and the Head of Policy and Influence, plan and execute content marketing campaigns, including creating and distributing digital content including blog posts, articles, videos and infographics.
• Plan and lead the delivery of key publications and events including the Annual Report and stakeholder engagement events.
• Define, develop and implement national campaigns aimed at key poverty issues in order to raise awareness of the charity’s services.

Introduction

The Prison Reform Trust (PRT) was founded in 1981 to inform public debate and improve prison conditions and the treatment of prisoners, amidst concerns about a projected prison population of 48,000 by 1984. Fast forward to today, the prison population in England and Wales is almost 87,000 and is projected to rise to 106,300 by March 2027. We overuse prison for non-violent and persistent crime, and we choose to send people to prison for a long time, and it continues to grow.

Our mission is clear. We are working to create a just, humane and effective prison system by influencing decision-makers opinion formers and the public to 1) reduce the use of prison; 2) Improve conditions for prisoners and, 3) promote equality and human rights in the criminal justice system.

Income in 2023 was £2.06 million, with most of our income portfolio reliant on trusts and foundations. We have just been through a strategic development period and as a part of that we have uncovered significant untapped potential for philanthropic and relational based income growth. We are now seeking a newly designed, ‘Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy’ to lead the whole fundraising programme, but with a specific focus on developing the philanthropy and corporate programme to take Prison Reform Trust to the next level.

You will be a seasoned relational fundraiser, have entrepreneurial flair, be creative and have the ability to influence at the highest of levels. Overall aim

· To maximise and grow Prison Reform Trust’s income by leading and implementing the fundraising strategy, ensuring targets are met and exceeded and in line with evolving needs, with a particular focus on unrestricted and core income growth

· To lead on identifying, researching, proposal writing and engaging donors in a relational manner including, philanthropists, family foundations, trusts, corporates, low level individuals and senior volunteers.

· To lead and focus on building relationships with existing, lapsed and new donors to maximise long term income for PRT

· Effective management of fundraising campaigns and donor touchpoints, providing excellence in stewardship and excelling in cultivation tactics to move donors along the journey

Key responsibilities

Leadership, strategy, planning and reporting

· Developing, implementing and performance managing the fundraising strategy in line with PRT’s organisational strategy to ensure income growth and diversification across all income streams

· Develop, manage and monitor the fundraising budget and financial targets with a particular focus on maintaining a healthy unrestricted to restricted income profile to ensure future investment into the fundraising programme

· As a member of the Senior Management Team, regular reporting to Senior Leadership Team and Board

Fundraising and Philanthropy

· Build deep and rich relationships with donors and funders, ensuring that stewardship is best-in-class to maximise each partnership to its full potential

· To utilise PRT’s network to build and grow a new philanthropy and partnerships programme at PRT

· Aligned with PRT’s strategic funding priorities and core work, develop proposals and bids for large scale, multi-year funding opportunities

· To lead on new business opportunities for fundraising at PRT. This includes identifying and qualifying prospects and partners, network mapping and cultivating them to their first gift with support from the development manager to take the relationships forward

· Oversee the management of grant funded projects to ensure that they are being delivered to the highest quality standard to meet donor requirements and reporting to be submitted on time

· Lead and oversee the development and delivery of fundraising products and activating activity

General

· Maintain excellent working relationships with other teams within the organisation especially service delivery, campaigns and finance

· Assist in developing and maintaining an effective website so donors have a seamless user experience

· Positively contribute to the effective running of the organisation including taking an active role in the management team

· Evidenced experience in cultivating and building relationships with donors / supporters and stewarding key funders

• Deliver Proof of concepts: Design, develop and deliver future projects that support the creation of new paid placements in different regional hubs across the country. The role will also play a pivotal part in driving a new multi-year, multi-million pound charity appeal.

Maximising the value and contribution of supporters is fundamental to Parkinson’s UK; building networks, understanding what motivates their supporters, and aligning programmes to their charitable interests is key to the charity’s growth plans for Major Gifts. This role will be critical to leading the philanthropy, trust and statutory, special events and prospect research and insights teams (approximately 18 people) and working with colleagues and leaders across the charity to identify prospects and opportunities to give at a transformational level. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in major gifts fundraising and a proven track record of securing large gifts. They will also have experience of managing a large annual income target and driving continued growth and ensuring targets are met. Strong presentation skills and budgetary skills will be combined with the ability to build positive and high-value relationships across a range of sectors, individuals, organisations and committees. As Product Manager (Supporter Experience), you will make sure those who make false claims in public can’t get away with it. Every day our team of fact checkers and campaigners find, check and challenge false claims. We identify the reasons for bad information, so we can campaign to change the systems that enable it. Your job will be to raise awareness of, and build support for, our cause through managing our supporter experience on our digital platforms.

Job Definition

The Product Manager (Supporter Experience) is responsible for planning the digital strategy and executing the plan to deliver online content and campaigns that increase awareness of our work and drive the public to take action and donate to our cause. 

You will manage multiple digital products and platforms, implementing data-driven improvements to ensure optimum usability and accessibility. Responsible for understanding and developing the user journey across digital touchpoints - as diverse as online advertising, campaigns and virtual events - you will advise on how best to improve the user experience and manage our content. 

You will manage a multi disciplinary team of people who deliver our CRM, website, email campaigns, audience research and community initiatives. 

Outcomes

In the first 6 months you’ll have the opportunity to coordinate the delivery of at least 3 campaigns that are designed to end deceptive campaign practices by political parties, improve regulation of political advertising and encourage MPs and Ministers to correct the record when they make a wrong or misleading claim. You’ll have access to new audience research data, and will use that to inform the work we do.

You’ll bring together a team of multi disciplinary experts to deliver on our campaigning aims. You’ll work with them to develop our website, CRM and mailing list to have the greatest impact, ensuring we have the right data to make good decisions.

You’ll build relationships with teams across Full Fact helping others to meet their aims, particularly supporting fundraising to deliver income-generating online communications.

• Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Editorial team in the development of a content strategy that drives engagement and high-quality growth. 

• Work closely with the rest of the team to create compelling, engaging and action-oriented copy across a range of digital communications.

• Identify digital suppliers (e.g. PPC and Paid Social campaigns) which can help us build campaigns targeting different audience segments. Own the relationship and workflow to ensure they have all the materials they need to succeed and hold them to account based on agreed targets.

• Assist the team with website updates using our CMS (Django) as well as contributing to larger website projects.

• Work with direct reports to set up landing pages and data capture forms, build our mailing list, manage multiple email campaigns and perform thorough QA and testing on website, email and CRM builds.

• Oversee building and testing of user journeys to ensure workflows are correctly set up across platforms, and identify any areas for improvements.

• Advise and make recommendations on product roadmaps based on learnings from data analysis, audience research, knowledge of trends and best practice and experience of campaign delivery.

Data management and analysis

• Assist the team in designing user research and analysing audience data to ensure our decisions are informed by an understanding of our existing and potential supporters.

• Understand the organisational needs for data to inform how we acquire and retain supporters. 

• Lead projects to integrate our Salesforce CRM with any new additions to the website (e.g. lead generation forms). 

• Work with the CRM Administrator to ensure the data is available, clean and accurate, and to prioritise and action internal CRM requests for training, issues and new functionality.

• Deliver monthly, quarterly and campaign-specific performance reports across all channels, highlighting achievements, insights and lessons learnt, informing a plan to further drive performance and ROI improvement.

About the role

In this role, you will offer clinical supervision to the Macmillan Support Line teams including advisers, nurses, line managers, service knowledge specialists and other groups and individuals as needed. As part of their continuing professional development, you will enable colleagues to reflect on their practice in supporting people affected by cancer while maintaining their own wellbeing.

You will be part of a team of 3 part-time clinical supervisors and will be given opportunities to feedback on recurrent themes to the organisation. You will learn about organisational wellbeing and be a key part of a team capable of working in an emotionally challenging, fast paced, live contact centre environment.

You will be running regular small group supervision sessions (approximately 3 per day) for 1hr 15’ each, managing a caseload of approximately 25 groups monthly. You will also offer individual supervision where needed.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• You must hold one of the following qualifications: Clinical Supervision Level 6 or above; accredited Counsellor or Psychotherapist (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, UK Council for Psychotherapy, Health Professionals Council)
