About the role

We are seeking a Substance Misuse Worker who has a specialism in mental health and substance use to join our team in Catford. You will be based within a 24 hour service which provides enhanced rehabilitation support to adults who have been diagnosed with severe and enduring mental health, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. Within this role, you will provide specialist knowledge and experience to support the wider team and residents to help them to overcome their personal barriers.

You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will be a specialist in comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of your duties will include:

• Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
• Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. Qualifications are desirable if paired with practical experience which is relevant to this role. We look at individual characteristics with the ability to engage with various people who may not want to receive the support, able to build trusting professional relationships, and able to demonstrate resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive. We are seeking a technically excellent management accountant to play a central role in the finance team at this young and vibrant charity, preparing monthly management information to aid business decisions, and undertaking project work as requested.

Management Accounts preparation

• Account for accrued income and expenditure, including:

You will have well-honed skills in positive communication and engagement and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for all our service users. You will support people to maintain a healthy state of wellbeing, mentally, physically and emotionally. You will (alongside members of the person’s circle of support) empower individuals to be happy, healthy, and successful in achieving their life goals.

The support we offer is tailored to the individual client’s needs and wants, whilst encouraging independence and community engagement.  This role will be based at our registered care service in Witham, Essex where we support 6 wonderful individuals.

You must be willing to embrace all aspects of the role including, but not limited to, providing support with personal care and domestic tasks, and supporting individuals to access work, education and social opportunities. We value the personal skills and interests you bring to the role and to the lives of the people we support, such as outdoor pursuits, creative arts and culinary skills to name but a few.

You will be required to work in a flexible manner, on a roster basis, which will include evenings and weekends as needed. A minimum of 12 months previous care experience is essential.

 

As a Creative Support Bank Staff member you will have access to our free app which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country, provides information on the service and shifts as well as directions. You will be paid on a weekly basis.
