Causeway supports marginalised and vulnerable people to recover from trauma and develop safe and fulfilling futures. Our Modern Slavery and Crime Reduction services include safe houses, outreach, community programmes, holistic crisis interventions and signposting into counselling, training and employment.

We drive change nationally through research, campaigning and strategic partnerships. Causeway’s four crime reduction services provide crime and violence reduction programmes for those committed to breaking their cycle of criminality. Our trauma-informed approach to supporting those who commit crime has proved successful in reducing rates of reoffending, which not only benefits the individuals involved, but reduces the number of victims and creates a safer society for all.

Role Summary

Our trustees bring strategic oversight and direction; to ensure Causeway is true to its purpose and effective in its strategic objectives, whilst ensuring all governance responsibilities are fulfilled. They champion the people we support, promote the charity and its work and bring expertise to purposefully develop Causeway and its impact.

Who are we looking for? 

Causeway are looking to recruit a Treasurer to the Board who is willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and support the strategic growth of the charity. We are particularly looking for our Treasurer to have:

• A relevant accounting qualification.

• Experience of charity accounting and relevant accounting standards.

• Ability to maintain overview of the financial affairs of the charity, ensuring its viability and proper financial records and procedures.

• A confident networker who will bring relevant connections and facilitate introductions for the benefit the charity.

• Experience in working with a Charity Board and subcommittees.

• Someone with at a minimum of two years governance experience

It is important that trustees reflect our geographical reach in the North, and that we have diversity of knowledge, experience and background on the trustee board. Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of sight loss and RNIB services at local events. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to create a world without barriers. This face to face opportunity will see you providing information about RNIB services and activities to help people with sight loss live the lives they want, enabling them to hear about the support that is available, and how they can help others.

• Creating a welcoming and interesting display stand.
• Speaking directly to people affected by sight loss.
• Being a friendly face of RNIB locally - engaging with a diverse range of people.
• Providing information and demonstrations of basic independent living aids for the general public and professionals.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Grants Panel. This independent panel of experts is responsible for scrutinising grant applications to ensure consistency of assessment against approved processes and criteria, value for money and the potential to achieve strategic objectives. The Panel then has the important role of approving grants and making recommendations. 

What are we looking for?

As a Member of the Grants Panel, you should have knowledge or understanding of grant management, and of assessing projects and identifying desired outcomes. You will need to demonstrate sound business judgement, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team to help the Football Foundation achieve its aims.  You should also have a genuine interest in the charitable sector, as well as an interest in sports.

We are seeking a dedicated, hard-working, passionate, and meticulously organised Admin Volunteer to lead on establishing our core administrative systems and processes. Your Mission: Creating Order and Structure

This is a critical, hands-on role where you will design and implement the structures that support all aspects of Ranger Cadets' operations. Key responsibilities include:

1. System Setup:

   • Establishing efficient digital and filing systems for documentation, records, and policies.

   • Setting up and managing administrative tools (e.g., shared drives, communication platforms, basic CRM/database systems).

2. Process Development:

   • Creating and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine administrative tasks (e.g., volunteer data management, equipment tracking, general correspondence).

3. General Administration Support:

   • Handling correspondence, managing information flow, and ensuring timely responses to internal and external queries.

   • Assisting with the organisation and scheduling of meetings, training sessions (like Officer Training), and key planning events.

   • Supporting various teams (e.g., HR, Communications) with data entry, documentation, and filing related to training sessions, volunteer recruitment, and unit setup.

You MUST be able to help make Ranger Cadets a huge success by creating robust, easy-to-use, and professional administrative back-end systems. We are only looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and fully motivated volunteer to join us and help us create something special.

We are currently looking for a new Digital Fundraising Trustee who can use their skills to support our growing charity. The Digital Fundraising Trustee will participate in all areas of the charity’s governance with a special interest in the fundraising implications of the strategy, governance and support with the Board’s understanding and interpretation.

Kent Community Foundation (KCF) is looking for individuals to join our Board of Trustees who have a real passion for our county and want to make a demonstrable difference to the lives of people in our communities.

KCF is a professional grant-maker and local philanthropy advisor for Kent and Medway. We have been established for 24 years; distributing more than £60 million in grants to voluntary sector organisations across the county; supporting small charities to be sustainable and successful, and helping major donors maximise the impact of their donations.

Trustees are the volunteers who lead charities and decide how they are run; setting strategic plans, monitoring the performance, impact and sustainability of the charity and overseeing its governance. People of any age and background can be a trustee, and we're looking for people with specific experience to help us support communities in Kent. We are particularly interested in applications from people who are typically under-represented on trustee boards.

We have a comprehensive trustee induction programme, so if you have never been a trustee or on a board before, we will ensure you have all the knowledge and support you need.
