Job Summary
 
You will work across both our SafeCall and Hertfordshire Missing Children’s Services, providing emotional and practical support to young people using virtual methods of communication. You will support young people who have been or who are at risk of missing and being exploited. You will provide a safe and confidential space for them to talk through their experiences and to disclose any harm and ongoing adverse experiences they have suffered. You will be a strong advocate for young people and families, working with them and other agencies to ensure they get the help they need to stay safe, and to reduce the risks of harm they face.
 
The Hertfordshire Missing Children’s Team operates on weekdays throughout Hertfordshire and is responsible for providing safeguarding, practical and emotional support, casework, advocacy and safety planning.
 
The dedicated SafeCall casework team is responsible for providing safeguarding, practical and emotional support, casework, advocacy, practical advice and emotional support nationally. The SafeCall team work collaboratively with the Helplines team who provide anonymous expert crisis support, safeguarding, safety planning, signposting and referrals out of hours capacity. These two teams ensure the full wraparound SafeCall service.
 
Key Accountabilities

• Deliver supportive interventions to families, parents, carers, children, and young people who have been missing or experiencing involvement with gangs & county lines
• To deliver national anonymous support via phone, email, SMS, and live chat, working collaboratively with the helpline team to offer a wraparound SafeCall service.
• Deliver Return Home Discussions / 121 Session support for the returned missing / vulnerable young people / children within expeditious timescales
• Speak up for children, young people, parents and carers who are at risk
• Provide feedback to the referring agency (with consent) on the general progress of the intervention and any identifiable needs which could be better met.
• Support children, young people, parents and carers through on-going support
• Develop support plans for children, young people and their families/carer to work towards mutually agreed goals.
• Support parents and carers to understand the service and the wider support available through the charity
• Be sensitive to the distress parents and carers may be experiencing following a child’s disappearance, which can sometimes be ongoing in relation to CCE.

The Taskforce has over 50 members including patients, carers, healthcare professionals, the voluntary sector and professional associations. Senior Policy and Engagement Officer – Taskforce for Lung Health

This role will support the Taskforce to deliver its ambitious programme of activity for 2026, working collaboratively with members and partners to deliver meaningful change for people with respiratory conditions.  You will lead and drive forward Taskforce policy and influencing work across priority areas, producing high-quality evidence-based outputs, working in collaboration with Taskforce members and partners, including patients, clinicians, other charities and corporate partners. You will develop the Taskforce’s engagement strategy, identifying opportunities to increase engagement and harness the potential of our collective endeavours to drive improvements in care for people with respiratory conditions, building strong working relationships with key stakeholders. This role can be either Office based or Remote based.

Senior Policy Officer – Asthma + Lung UK

Reporting to the Health Policy Manager, you will carry out proactive policy and influencing work across a range of health policy areas related to NHS services, treatment and care for lung conditions. You will work closely with other policy team members to influence change, and draft impactful policy positions and recommendations, using research, patient experience, clear analysis and strong arguments. You will work with a range of important external stakeholders, building strong relationships and influencing positive change. This role is Office based only.

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise your workload efficiently. You will have experience of developing robust policy positions and campaigning for policy change. You will be proactive and able to manage your workload independently, able to communicate complex issues to different audiences, and work collaboratively with a range of teams and external stakeholders. You will be comfortable managing multiple deadlines and adapting to changes in the external policy environment.

Now in its second decade of operations, Inter Mediate is seeking a Projects Manager to join our small, specialised team to support our work on dialogue processes and sensitive negotiations, with a particular focus on Asia. Our work in Asia covers conflicts in South and East Asia.

The Projects Manager will be responsible for:  

· Supporting and implementing Inter Mediate’s existing projects portfolio of peace talks and other high-level peace initiatives;

· Building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders in conflict and peace processes, mainly in South and East Asia.;

· Identifying and developing entry points for new projects;

· Monitoring and analysing political developments across areas relevant to Inter Mediate’s work;

· Preparing project proposals and budgets, narrative and financial reporting, and collecting evidence of project impact.

 Specific responsibilities:

· Working with the relevant Project Directors to support the development, management and delivery of existing Inter Mediate conflict resolution and dialogue projects, with a geographic focus on South and East Asia;

· Developing and sustaining relationships with key partners and interlocutors, both directly and remotely, travelling frequently to project/meeting locations;

· Drafting meeting reports, note verbales, preparatory briefs and memos as required;

· Leading research necessary to deliver projects;

Person Specification - Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience

 Successful candidates would need to demonstrate:

· A masters degree in politics, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, international affairs, public policy or an equivalent subject. Relevant work experience (with a preferred focus on Asia) may be accepted in lieu;

· At least 6 years of work experience in conflict resolution or peace process support for a governmental, non-governmental or inter-governmental organisation, or an equivalent field such as diplomacy, humanitarian access, or international development;

· Experience of project management including finance/budgeting and reporting.

· Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage logistics in sensitive and high pressure situations;

· Evidence of strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills required in operating across multiple geographical and cultural contexts;

· Deep understanding of and interest in politics and conflict resolution in general and with a particular focus on South Asia; 

· Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior interlocutors and IM’s partners;

· Proven experience of fundraising and management of donor relationships;

· Excellent English language skills and proven writing/drafting ability for a variety of audiences;

· Hindi/Urdu/Bengali/Chinese language skills would be highly desirable and an advantage for candidates;

The Role

Job Title: Business Manager (Parental Leave Cover)

The Role

The Business Manager is a senior, cross-cutting role, working in close partnership with FILE’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to enable and enhance strategic alignment, organisational effectiveness, and cross-functional collaboration. This role balances strategic insight with operational excellence, ensuring the SLT works as effectively as possible while driving delivery on organisational priorities.

This is a highly facilitative, cross functional role requiring exceptional judgement, communication, and organisational skills. It operates with a birds-eye, systems level view of the organisation, acting as the connective tissue that keeps the SLT aligned. The role balances a forward-looking strategic perspective with hands on operational execution. The postholder will work across teams to identify challenges and opportunities, manage critical projects, facilitate decision-making, and champion a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Strategic Partner to Senior Leadership Team: Work with the SLT as a thought partner to drive clarity, alignment, and execution on organisational priorities, including planning cycles, workflow management, and organisational performance reviews.

 

2. Operational Leadership and Execution (SLT): Lead operational cadences (SLT meetings, offsites, quarterly reviews, and strategic planning sessions) and manage cross-functional initiatives and projects. In 2026 this will include supporting the development of FILE’s 2027-2030 organisational strategy.

3. Confidential & Complex Decision Support: Handle highly confidential issues such as legal, financial, or organisational change initiatives with discretion and maturity. Provide quality recommendations to support complex and confidential decision making.

4. Support Team Leadership & People Management: Manage, empower and develop the Executive Assistant team, ensuring strong support for the SLT and fostering a collaborative, high performing leadership culture.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination and Collaboration: Enable effective communication and coordination across teams, ensuring alignment and follow through on organisational priorities.

The Foundation for International Law for the Environment (FILE) is a not-for-profit philanthropic organisation working to accelerate legal action on climate change. 

Through grant-making and in-house legal expertise, we empower our partners to deliver strategic, innovative legal interventions and we support lawyers in their own countries to bring their own cases.
