In this context, the Employee Relations & HR Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in driving high standards of HR practice across the organisation.

You will lead on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance cases, performance concerns, and organisational change processes. Acting as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders, you will ensure that people decisions are fair, consistent, and aligned with UK employment law and international HR standards.

You will work closely with senior HR colleagues to maintain compliant policies, support safeguarding investigations where required, and strengthen HR systems and processes that support a growing international workforce.

This role will collaborate closely with the Director of People, Heads of HR, recruitment and payroll teams, providing expert advice and coaching to managers while promoting a culture of accountability, transparency, and respect.

•  Evolve and lead the People & Culture strategy as a key enabler of our five year business plan

The Interim Ministry Human Resources (HR) Policy Officer will join the vibrant Ministry Development Team as we work together to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England by supporting the development of the ministerial terms of service and wellbeing portfolio. The post holder will be line managed by the Interim Ministry HR Lead and work in collaboration with colleagues across the church especially in the MDT and HR teams.
The Ministry HR team are supported by the Advisory Group for Terms of service and Wellbeing of Ministers (AGTAWM). AGTAWM is chaired by the lead Bishop for ministerial terms of service and wellbeing, and is a subcommittee of the Ministry Development Board.
The Ministry Development Team (MDT) is a team of 45 people which sits within the Archbishops' Council. We are nationally responsible for ensuring that there is a pipeline of lay and ordained ministers together with their terms of service and the development of future and current senior leaders to meet the missional needs of the church. As such we have a key role to play in the delivery of our national Vision and Strategy in which we aspire to be a church which is Jesus Christ shaped and centred.
Our work requires us to work collaboratively with a wide range of stake holders and partners including the 42 Church of England Dioceses, 20 Church of England Theological Colleges, the House and College of Bishops, the College of Cathedral Deans and the College of Archdeacons together with a range of universities and other external bodies. We are seeking an experienced HR Change Consultant to support a major organisational change programme at a leading London university. This role will play a key part in shaping and delivering people-related change activities across academic and professional services functions.The ideal candidate will bring proven experience operating within highly unionised environments, strong knowledge of higher education structures and academic frameworks, and hands-on expertise in managing restructures and redundancy processes in a compliant, sensitive, and collaborative manner.

Your new role

• Partner with senior HR leaders, change leads and faculty/department heads to design and implement people-focused change interventions.
• Lead on end-to-end organisational change activities, including consultation planning, restructuring, selection processes, and redundancy management.
• Develop and deliver change plans, impact assessments, communications, and engagement strategies aligned to university policies and employment legislation.

• Prepare documentation including consultation packs, FAQs, meeting notes, business cases, and outcome letters.
• Support post-implementation activities such as transition planning, embedding new structures, and capturing lessons learned.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Extensive experience as an HR Change Consultant, HR Business Partner, or similar HR role delivering large-scale organisational change.
• Strong background working within unionised environments, with proven ability to navigate complex industrial relations.
• Understanding of higher education or academic settings, including academic frameworks, career pathways, and governance structures.
• Demonstrable experience managing redundancies, restructures, and consultation processes in compliance with UK employment law.
• Skilled at stakeholder management, particularly with senior leaders, academic governance groups, and employee representatives.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, organisational design proposals, and role requirements.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work at pace on multiple workstreams within a large, evolving change programme.

You'll support managers and staff with advice on ways of working, implementation of employment policies and enabling effective people management across AaA through supporting employee relations case work. You'll support managers with absence/health issues, including making occupational health referrals as required, and following up and assisting through the capability process. This role

The Head of HR and Operations will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. This role will be central to shaping the organisation’s culture and ensuring that our HR and operational functions are robust, future‑focused, and aligned with our mission.

As we continue to grow, the postholder will play a pivotal role in building an inclusive, values‑driven, and high‑performing workplace where staff feel supported, trusted, and able to thrive.

They will lead on HR strategy, employee development and retention, and the effective management of our facilities and operational systems. A coaching and enabling approach will be essential—supporting managers to use people metrics confidently, strengthening people practices across the organisation, and embedding a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and wellbeing.

Main responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

· Contribute to the development and delivery of Your Voice Count’s organisational strategy as a member of the Senior Management Team.

· Champion inclusive, ethical and sustainable ways of working aligned with Your Voice Count’s values.

· Support organisational change, growth and service development from a people and systems perspective.

· Oversee HR function, policies, and efficient working practices

· Support managers with HR responsibilities and staff development.

· Ensure effective recruitment, onboarding, and talent management.

· Foster an inclusive, diverse, and well-being-focused culture.

· Manage HR systems, technology, and budgets

· Ensure HR policies, procedures and practices are legally compliant, up-to-date and consistently applied.

· Support managers to build confident, fair and values-led people management capability.

Facilities & Office Management:

· Oversee office, facilities, and repairs to ensure a safe environment.

· Manage supplier contracts, IT, and communication systems.

· Supervise facilities and operations staff.

· Ensure cost-effective procurement and budget management.

Organisational Operations and Compliance:

· Act as organisational lead for GDPR compliance, working with external advisors where required, supporting the Data Protection Officer.

· Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and support managers in maintaining safe working practices.

· Maintain oversight of organisational assets and information management systems

Essential Skills & Experience needed for the role

· Experience of building inclusive and diverse workplaces.

· Ability to develop HR strategies that support business objectives and workforce planning.

· Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.

· Experience supporting managers with employee relations and performance issues

· Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, with a people-first approach.

· Knowledge/experience of managing and delivering across multiple workstreams such as HR and Facilities (experience in all an advantage but not a requirement)

· Experience of contributing to senior decision making

· Ability to analyse, critique and evaluate business data and insights

· MCIPD qualified or a qualification or experience in human resources management, or equivalent experience at a senior level.

· Influential with the gravitas to effectively help shape the organisation

· Significant management or supervisory level HR experience

Desirable:

· Experience working in a charity or values-led organisation.

· Experience supporting organisational growth or change.

· HR or management qualification (e.g. CIPD or equivalent).

The successful candidate will, along with other essential criteria:

• Be qualified to Chartered MCIPD level or as a minimum
• Have extensive experience of delivering robust generalist HR advice and guidance, including advising and coaching line managers and advising to a successful conclusion on a broad range of complex employee relations issues
• Social sector experience or exposure, gained through employment, volunteering or governance role(s) with extensive and broad operational delivery of robust generalist HR advice and guidance
• Have excellent communication skills and be extremely skilled in influencing at all levels
• Have excellent written skills, able to produce high-quality reports and other documentation
• Be passionate about human resources and committed to updating their knowledge on a frequent basis.
