Greater Manchester Youth Federation (GMYF) is a long-established charity running vibrant youth centres across Greater Manchester. Purpose of Role:

The Centre Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and management of Ormside Mill Residential Centre (ORC), including all Health and Safety, estate management, operations and bookings. The postholder will ensure high-quality, inclusive, and safe delivery of youth work activities, aligned with our organisational values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

• To support the CEO in the delivery of our mission, in line with our values and ambition.
• Oversee daily operations of Ormside Mill Residential Centre, ensuring high service standards and smooth handover/takeover procedures.
• Line manage staff associated with the centre, such as the grounds keeper, housekeeper and finance assistant.
• Manage and administer all bookings and reservations for the Ormside Mill Residential Centre, maintaining an organised and efficient system.
• Provide onsite ‘take over’ and ‘hand over’ arrangements for groups, including providing oversight of activities with freelance instructors etc.

Safety, Quality and Compliance

• To ensure they have up to date Safeguarding knowledge and to promote GMYF safeguarding culture.
• Responsible for safe, inclusive practice in all areas of ORC work, through supportive line management of key staff, user and contractor briefings and operations. Be responsible for compliance with health and safety regulations including Fire Safety, Legionella, Contractor Management, vehicle maintenance etc.
• Manage and complete documentation for inspections or quality marks such as AHOEC, Evolve, AALA Licence etc. ensuing readiness for audit and compliance, including supporting the Chief Instructor with kit management and storage.
• To be responsible for a detailed estates plan that sets out key compliance requirements and their successful management within a 12-month period and beyond.

Administration and Organisation

• Represent the organisation in external networks and partnerships related to residential and youth work, including building positive relationship with local residents.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to populate the forecast events and resource demand.
• To identify, submit and secure external funding to support our endeavours, via grants or individual benefactors.  
• To promote environmental sustainability, appropriate waste management and care for the environment.
• To be responsible for the production of regular and accurate reports such as the Annual Report, User Satisfaction reports, etc. 
• Responsible for the vetting, compliance and expectations for freelances staff, in line with GMYF values.

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL

Qualifications & Technical Competence

• Current First Aid qualification or commitment to obtain within 3 months
• Relevant qualification in youth work, education, or a related field, with a focus on residential and youth centre management.
• Experience of working within AALA or similar regulatory frameworks.
• L3 Safeguarding qualification working with young people or commitment to obtain within 1 month

Experience

• Proven experience in developing and ensuring the quality of programmes and activities within residential centres.
• Excellent communication, IT, and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with staff, volunteers, and external partners.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead an effective team.
• Experience of risk management and developing safe systems of work in residential and youth settings.

What does the role involve?

• Manage data processes, imports and exports of all fundraising data including direct debits, new donors, email signups etc. in accordance with agreed protocols and in agreement with CRM Manager.
• Ensure that the use of the Fundraising database and the capture of all data from supporters or prospects conforms to data protection guidelines including GDPR relating to supporter preferences and consent.
• Support training for colleagues using the new CRM (Beacon) and help ensure all members are trained and kept up to date on new features and enhancements as they require to do their job effectively.
• Support the reconciliation of the bank statement with Beacon and ensure the Finance team know where to find information to enable accurate coding for management accounts.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?​

• Demonstrable relevant experience working in Fundraising, or a Charity database team role using Raiser’s Edge or any database similar, with experience of CRMs in general.
• Evidenced experience of managing high volumes of personal data using a large and complex supporter/CRM database.
• Evidenced ability to think analytically and deliver the most effective and accurate solutions for data capture, manipulation and reporting.

The Housing Officer role is 37.5 hours a week, working shifts between 8am and 8pm Monday-Friday which you will share with two other staff members on an 8-4, 10-6 or 12-8 rota pattern.

The role is based in Colchester.

Your time will be spent working with residents towards independent living by assisting them to claim and maintain benefits, move into work, education or volunteering, learn about successful budgeting, to eat healthily and keep themselves safe and healthy both physically and mentally. YMCA Essex has a 44 room, supported housing unit on Magdalen Street in Colchester. We house young people aged 16-25, supporting them towards independent living and a well rounded life. We encourage and support them into work, education or training and to be able to maintain a tenancy and look after themselves when they leave YMCA. Residents can live at the YMCA for a two-year period after which time we assist them in moving onto independent living.

You

About Abbey Community Centre

Abbey Community Centre works with people of all ages and backgrounds, with a particular focus on older residents and low-income families with young children. We deliver a wide range of activities, services and support including children’s stay-and-play sessions and drop-ins, fitness and wellbeing activities, befriending schemes, digital inclusion support, community meals, warm space provision, food support, volunteering opportunities and specialist outreach.

The role and its impact

As Centre Operations Manager, you will be the organisation’s senior operational lead on the ground. Working closely with the CEO, you will hold delegated authority for the day-to-day running of the Centre — ensuring the building, people and systems all work together to support high-quality community activity.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining practical problem-solving with people management. You will line manage and help develop operational staff, oversee facilities and contractors, lead on health and safety and operational compliance, support volunteering, and ensure organisational systems and processes function reliably.

As the Bid Officer, you will support statutory and non-statutory funding across Advance’s services, with oversight by the Development Manager and support from the Development and Fundraising Co-ordinator. You will plan and produce compliant proposal documents, bringing together expertise, best practice, research and data to develop compelling tender responses. Please note: In this role we are always exploring new technology and tools to support better ways of working, however the sector we work in means that we are often required to submit bids that are written without AI involvement. About Bridge Watch

Bridge Watch is a suicide prevention and community safety programme that deploys trained volunteer patrols on London’s bridges to identify and support individuals at risk, helping to prevent tragic outcomes.

The programme forms part of wider suicide prevention efforts across the Square Mile and surrounding areas, with a focus on early intervention, compassionate engagement, and partnership working. Bridge Watch volunteers are supported by a comprehensive training framework that equips them to confidently and safely engage with people in crisis, raise public awareness, and signpost to appropriate support.

Bridge Watch continues to develop its coverage, volunteer base, and profile, working closely with statutory and community partners.

Job Summary

The Bridge Watch Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the Bridge Watch Programme Lead, contributing to the effective day-to-day running, coordination, and development of the programme.

The role plays a key part in supporting volunteers, maintaining smooth operations, and helping to raise the profile and impact of Bridge Watch across London.

Hours: Part-time, three days a week.
Contract: Fixed term for three years.

Main Duties & Responsibilities 

Programme Administration & Coordination

• Support the coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Bridge Watch programme
• Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and maintain accurate administrative records
• Assist with scheduling, rotas, and general programme organisation

Volunteer Support & Engagement

• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and initial engagement of Bridge Watch volunteers
• Assist with patrol rotas and arranging cover where necessary
• Support follow-up with volunteers to review early experiences and ongoing engagement
• Process volunteer expense claims in line with organisational procedures

Communications, Events & Engagement

• Support the development and delivery of programme communications and awareness-raising activities
• Assist with website and social media content preparation
• Liaise with volunteers, partners, and external organisations to support meetings and events
• Arrange meetings, including booking rooms, preparing agendas, and circulating notes where required

Operational & Practical Support

• Provide practical support at the Bridge Watch base, including assisting with equipment and uniforms
• Order uniforms and equipment and assist with stock management as required
• Attend meetings, events, and occasional patrols to support programme delivery and quality assurance

Monitoring, Development & Funding Support

• Assist with basic research, data collation, and reporting as directed
• Support the preparation of evidence and contributions toward funding applications

• Liaise with members of the wider Ascension Trust staff team as required
• Undertake any other duties reasonably required in line with the role

Experience

• Experience of working in the third sector

About Care4Calais

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK. 

In the UK, we collect and distribute clothing, shoes, mobile phones, and other essential items, alongside offering social support and access to legal, medical, and educational services. In northern France, we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside local communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding, and services to displaced refugees living in challenging and dangerous conditions.

All of Care4Calais' operations are supported by a small, dedicated staff team, who supervise large volunteer teams to provide critical support to asylum seekers and people on the move in both the UK and France.

About the Role

Care4Calais is recruiting an Operations Support Assistant to support its humanitarian operations in the UK. You will join our team in a remote and part-time capacity, offering regular steady online support delegated by our Operations Support Officer for the UK.

The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, IT-competent individual with strong written communication skills to offer ad-hoc support to a busy team - a team which registers UK volunteers, responds to incoming queries from the public, and manages ongoing administrative tasks for Care4Calais’ UK-based operations. 

Having an understanding of the asylum system within the UK, and therefore the environment that our volunteers work within as they support people that are seeking sanctuary here, is useful for the role. You will receive a thorough induction, and work alongside experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide core operational support for Care4Calais’ operations in the UK alongside the UK Operations Support Officer and team of admin volunteers.

• Communicate with and register new volunteers joining our work, both virtually and on the ground, across the UK.

• Liaise with the public via email by responding to new incoming enquiries.

• Manage volunteer data as part of the registration process and store it appropriately, in-keeping with GDPR and Care4Calais policy.

• Navigate the spreadsheets and CRM systems used by our teams for volunteer information storage and management.

• Work alongside a small team to increase the speed and efficiency of our existing processes and procedures, and bolster operations whilst new processes are introduced.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

• Interest in, and alignment with, the work of Care4Calais, including justice for migrants and refugees

• Competent digital literacy, including the ability to use Google Workspace and spreadsheets effectively

• Strong written communication skills

• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English
