About the Role
The role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising (CEF) directorate and reports to its director. The team serves the needs of the organisation by engaging a range of key audiences through various media channels, volunteer engagement, events and fundraising. You will be responsible for delivering fundraising appeals, products and campaigns, ensuring that supporters go on a meaningful and experiential journey with USPG and become lifelong supporters. You are, therefore, a confident, passionate, organised and creative senior manager with the proven ability to motivate and inspire your team and USPG supporters.
You will bring energy and passion to this role and have the responsibility for delivering on time fundraising activity across the organisation. We are looking for an experienced youth worker to join our team and lead our Short Breaks project, which provides activities and support specifically for children and young people who have autism and have low to moderate support needs. Camp Mohawk is a woodland activity centre that provides support to children, young people and families from across the South of England.
The children and young people (approximately 100 individuals) supported by the project are aged 8 to approximately 25 years and are largely independent in terms of their self care but have a variety of social, sensory and sometimes medical needs that mean it is very difficult for them to participate in mainstream activities. Our Short Breaks service offers after school activities (in 3 age groups) on Tuesdays and Thursdays in term time, as well as full days of activities once per week in school holidays. These activities give the young people essential social opportunities during which they are supported with things they find challenging, encouraged to express their natural personalities and explore and develop their interests. During these sessions they can receive support to develop their social skills if that is what they need, and can take part in fun activities with their peers. The groups generally cater for between 10 and 20 young people per session.
To be a good fit for this role, you will need to be an exceptional and dedicated childcare / youth worker who has proven experience of supporting and safeguarding children and young people, particularly those who have autism. You should have experience of planning inclusive activities, managing budgets and supervising teams of staff. The role is very much a ‘hands on’ role working directly with the project beneficiaries for the majority of the post hours - you must be able to commit to working the majority of Tuesday (16.00 - 19.30) and Thursday (18.30 - 22.00) evenings in term time, and at least one full day (09.00 - 17.30) per week during school holidays, with the exception of the Christmas holidays when the centre is closed. You will work 10 hours per month on project associated admin which can be undertaken remotely and largely at times that suit you. You must have a full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle that is insured for business use. Camp Mohawk is not easily accessible by public transport, whilst some Short Breaks activities take place at off site locations in Reading, Wokingham, Maidenhead, Bracknell, Slough and surrounding areas.
The current post holder also works in the role of Duty Manager for other school holiday days / term time weekend days. This aspect of the role, which will be an optional add on to the Short Breaks Coordinator role with negotiable hours, would be undertaken on a rotational basis with our 4 other Duty Managers. The role involves overseeing the daily delivery of general Family Sessions which support families who have children of all ages and who have a wide range of special needs and disabilities. In this role you will guide and supervise a team of support staff and volunteers through set up of the facilities at the start of the day, oversee the smooth and effective delivery of the service and support families during their visits, work effectively within our Safeguarding Lead Team, and supervise the cleaning and close down of facilities once the session has completed.

Benefits
As part of our annual leave policy, all employees receive three additional days of annual leave on top of their standard allocation of 25 days. These days are designated to cover the period when our UK office closes between Christmas and New Year, allowing all UK WaterAiders to take a well-deserved break.
These days are automatically scheduled and cannot be changed or moved. Annual leave is accrued based on your start date. If sufficient leave has not been accrued by the time of the closure, the 3 days will be taken as unpaid leave or pro-rated, depending on your circumstances.

What is the main purpose of their role?
The Operations Manager sits within a team of six managers who are responsible for providing the strategic lead for all the activities of Suffolk Refugee Support. This is a senior operational role with responsibility for overseeing key programme areas including HR and facilities, volunteering, our ESOL provision and our International Women’s Group. The role will also oversee the development of SRS’s Client Partnership work, ensuring this is shaped through co-production with the clients we work with, supports strong external relationships, and is delivered through an effective, outcome-focused work plan. Working closely with staff, trustees, partners and clients, the postholder will contribute to the effective management and ongoing development of the organisation.
The role line manages a team of Officers and Coordinators responsible for specific programme areas, ensuring that the activities within their remit are effective, compliant and responsive, meeting both the charitable aims of SRS and the needs of the asylum seekers and refugees we support.
What will the job entail?
Among other responsibilties, you’ll be overseeing the function of the organisation and its strategic development by using knowledge of needs of clients, gaps in existing services and opportunities as they arise, working with the Management Team to agree funds required for services to be run and delivered, liaising with Trustees, developing and managing client focused activities, developing and managing operational areas of work and providing strategic and operational oversight to our Client Partnership work.

Job description
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting the Hertfordshire countryside and represent CPRE Hertfordshire at events and through media. The role also involves management of a small staff team, the oversight of our Governance including finances, reporting, budget, fundraising, communications and volunteer management.
This is an exciting time to join CPRE Hertfordshire, as the candidate will be able to build and influence the new long-term strategy and annual plan with our Board of Trustees in advance of 2027.
The Chief Executive is responsible for:
1. Contributing to and driving the implementation of CPRE Hertfordshire’s strategy.
2. Delivering effective and efficient operational performance of the charity including robust contingency arrangements.
3. Providing exceptional leadership and management of the team – both paid staff and volunteers – and further growing our volunteer cadre.
4. Delivering the marketing and communications strategy, including membership acquisition and retention communications, email and social media marketing.
5. Leading and managing local Branch campaigns and projects as agreed by the Board of Trustees.
6. Devising and overseeing activities to increase recruitment of new CPRE members.
7. Devising fundraising activities in line with agreed targets in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
8. Overseeing our planning activities, including interaction with those in national and local government roles and community groups, and ensuring the charity keeps up to date with current national and local planning policy.
9. Attending regular meetings with national CPRE and other county branches to share knowledge, formulate “one CPRE” policy positions, and participate in national campaigns.
10. Ensure that the annual operating budget is met and continually look for cost savings across all lines of expenditure.
11. Ensuring that all risk factors faced by the charity in undertaking its activities are clearly understood and mitigated as appropriate.
12. Ensuring the charity keeps up to date with appropriate external best practices and maintains compliance with relevant charity commission and other regulations such as HSE and GDPR.

1. Successful track record of organisational leadership from a not-for-profit sector role.
