We are recruiting for three Funding Officers, one permanent and two 12-month fixed term contract roles to join our Funding team in Wales.

You will join our friendly team and work alongside our colleagues in Wales and across the UK. Depending on your location and preference, you can work from home or a combination of home working and office working in our Newtown or Cardiff offices.

As a funding officer you will assess requests for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making. By working closely with people and communities, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.

You will be responsible for supporting local people and communities across Wales, and have a strong understanding of our vision, being able to adapt your approach to the wishes of the people you are working with. You’ll also need to support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.

You will be responsible for the pipeline of projects, understanding and responding to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations. Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker. You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.

Financial Accountant | 10 - month FTC | £50,000 + Benefits | London | Hybrid

For an international NGO focusing on protecting the marine environment and sustainability, we're recruiting an interim Financial Accountant for a fixed term contract. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will lead on financial controls, reporting and compliance including payroll, Audit and Year-end reconciliations as well as overseeing a Finance Assistant responsible for AP and AR. The Financial Accountant will also provide key support during the transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 including data preparation, chart-of-accounts design, testing, and updating processes and procedures.

Main Duties:

• Bank, control account and other reconciliations
• Act as signatory on UK bank accounts, ensuring financial controls are adhered to
• Month-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of schedules and Audit support
• Year-end reconciliations, supporting schedules, including salary reconciliations
• Ensure accurate financial records are in place for restructured and Donor-funded projects
• Lead UK monthly Payroll processing liaising with HR and external Payroll provider regarding Pensions, loans, advances and other payroll deductions and benefits
• Support the Finance team during the system transformation and migration to Dynamics 365 including data preparation, chart-of-accounts design, testing, and creation and updating of finance processes and procedures
• Oversee the Finance Assistant and ensure accurate and timely Accounts Payable and Sales Ledger transaction processing.

Person Specification:

• ATT qualified, or part-qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
• Experience of audit, year-end and monthly close processes
• Strong experience with financial accounting and transactional accounting
• Experience in restricted and unrestricted funds within the charity sector is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of purchase ledger, credit control and expense processing
• UK tax compliance including PAYE and VAT
• Experience of managing a small team

Learning and Development Facilitator - Part Time

As Policy and Public Affairs Officer, you’ll help shape how we champion the voices and experiences of young people, ensuring their needs are reflected in decisions about education, skills and financial capability. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor developments in education, skills and related policy areas, identifying what they mean for young people and Young Enterprise’s work.
• Support the development of Young Enterprise’s policy positions through research, analysis and evidence gathering.
• Help plan and deliver public affairs and stakeholder engagement activities, including events, parliamentary briefings and meetings.
• Contribute to campaigns that aim to influence policy and raise the profile of issues affecting young people.
• Draft high-quality written outputs such as consultation responses, meeting notes, articles and social media content.
• Support policy networks and relationships, including Secretariat support for the APPG for Financial Education for Young People.
• Work closely with colleagues across programmes, research, communications and fundraising to align policy priorities and messaging.
• Coordinate the practical organisation of policy events, meetings and stakeholder communications. 

A few practical things

• This is a hybrid role, with a minimum requirement to work from our London office in Brunswick Square at least 8 days per month.
• The role involves regular travel to Westminster for meetings and events, and occasional travel to other parts of the UK.
• Occasional evening and weekend work will be required for events, with time off in lieu provided.
• There are no specific physical or manual handling requirements associated with this role.

The role
You will lead the Gallery’s financial strategy and planning, ensuring robust budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management. You will provide clear financial insight to support senior decision-making and oversee high-quality reporting.

You will ensure strong financial governance and compliance with Charity SORP, manage risk, and lead the annual audit. You will also oversee tax and regulatory matters, including VAT, PAYE and Gift Aid, and manage relationships with auditors, banks and funders.

You will lead and develop the Finance Team, while supporting financial understanding across the organisation. As part of the senior leadership group, you will help shape priorities and ensure resources are aligned to deliver impact.

About you
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with senior-level experience. Experience in the charity or cultural sector is helpful but not essential.

You will bring strong expertise in financial strategy, planning and governance, and be confident advising Boards or Trustees. You will be able to translate complex financial information into clear insight and build effective relationships across the organisation.
