We're looking for someone with experience of verging or similar church support work to provide Maternity Cover for up to 12 months. Starting in December 2026 the successful applicant will be involved with major services and events marking the Centenary of both the Cathedral and Diocese of Portsmouth.
Good social skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own inititiave. The ability to work closely with and relate well to all Cathedral staff, ministry team, congregation, volunteers, visitors, and members of the general public will also be required.
The two Assistant Vergers and Precinct Officers (AVPOs) carry out a wide range of duties under the direction of the Head Verger and Precinct Manager. Work includes: the careful setting up and delivery of all liturgical matters; ensuring a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all working in, visiting, or using the Cathedral and Cathedral House and precinct and ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the Cathedral for all.

STOP THE TRAFFIK is a global organisation working to prevent human trafficking and exploitation. We bring together data, intelligence, technology and partnerships to build a deeper understanding of how exploitation operates, where risks are emerging and who is most at risk. This knowledge informs our prevention campaigns and programmes, which use targeted, evidence-led approaches to reach people with relevant information and support before exploitation occurs.
Safer Futures is one of the major pieces of work within STOP THE TRAFFIK’s prevention programme, focused on preventing child exploitation. It brings together a number of connected areas of prevention activity, including regional campaigns, national awareness activity and a youth-centred reporting channel.
Like our wider prevention projects, the work is informed by data, intelligence and evidence about the risks facing communities and the audiences we are seeking to reach. In this context, the It combines targeted communications, partnerships, technology, safeguarding and learning to develop and deliver practical prevention activity.
The work will involve collaboration across STOP THE TRAFFIK, our wider UK network and external partners, with learning and intelligence generated through delivery helping to strengthen the programme over time.

The nature of the role requires the role-holder to be out of College, visiting prospective and current donors, at least 2–3 days per week. Attendance in College on these days is not required. Because Clare is a community, attendance in College at least one day a week will be essential. The usual hours of work are between 8.45am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (36.25 hours a week), but flexibility and some evening and weekend work are required. Our Data and Fundraising Operations team acts as the technical lead for many of the Charity’s systems and technical projects. Alongside developing your knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT, you’ll have opportunities to broaden your experience across Excel, Access, SharePoint, APIs, data integrations, reporting, automation and system implementation.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where you can deepen your CRM expertise while developing a broader understanding of data, systems and digital processes within fundraising.

Role Purpose
The Fundraising Manager will drive fundraising growth for YMCA Lincolnshire, a well-established charity working to improve the lives of children and young people, families, local communities and those at risk of homelessness.
Reporting to the Head of Income Generation, you will lead the delivery of YMCA Lincolnshire's Fundraising Strategy and be responsible for achieving agreed income targets across a diverse range of income streams. You will grow income through individual giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, community fundraising, events and campaigns, while strengthening donor stewardship, supporter journeys and the effective use of our Beacon CRM.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, you will translate service delivery outcomes into compelling cases for support and build meaningful relationships with supporters, funders, businesses and community groups. You will ensure all fundraising activity is compliant, insight-led and aligned with YMCA Lincolnshire's mission, values and strategic objectives.

As Advice Casework Manager you will oversee both immigration and welfare & housing casework, managing casework allocation and maintaining rigorous standards across all work. You will provide line management, support staff development and oversee monitoring and evaluation to create accurate reports for funders and senior management. You will also manage a personal caseload, in line with your previous experience.
IRMO’s Advice service provides trusted information, resources, advice and casework in Spanish and Portuguese on key areas of need, including immigration, welfare entitlements, housing and homelessness prevention. IRMO is accredited by the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) at Level 3. We are also members of Advice UK and receive second-tier support from Southwark Law Centre.
As part of our Advice for All partnership, you will oversee the delivery of our Advice Workforce Development Programme, working in close collaboration with our partner organisations. This includes supporting the training and development of year-long cohorts of immigration and welfare & housing trainees, as well as strengthening the skills and practice of our existing advice workforce.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring strong experience as a senior caseworker and line manager, with a track record of delivering high-quality advice against targets and communicating impact clearly. You’ll be confident in managing people and priorities, with a leadership style that brings out the best in your team.
